i got this westlake b2 gun for 10 years, all those years it shoot fine,a couple days ago i fully dissasebled, cleaned and lubed all parts,including leather piston( btw piston was lubed first time ever ) then i stretched the spring from 22cm to 27cm and now its working better than new,powerful and accurate.Great gun very simple and easy to fix.

kzbin.info/www/bejne/kGnRinelbcyLm7c you need something that would hold your spring tight, like in this video.Then find eye protection and gloves place your spring verticaly and pull as much as u can.I prefer buying new spring its only 10eur,because stretched spring worn out faster.
@AirArmoury7 жыл бұрын
The only problem with buying a new spring for one of these is most say that for SMK guns you will still need to cut it down to size. Also, try here for a breech seal if TW Chambers are sold out: www.airgunspares.com/store/department/64/AIRGUN-SPARES/

@@AirArmoury Nope. A titan #11 fits nicely. Dropped one in mine, a rifle I carefully selected, put some polish on the piston, cleaned out the gunk and some mild deburring. Added slip washers and lubed it sparingly. It cocks more smoothly than any springer I've ever used, including top end hw's, air arms, and even a lgu royale. Still pretty 'bangy' to shoot, the trigger, although smooth and predictable, is silly heavy due to the lack of leverage but consistent pellet on pellet accuracy at 12m. These rifles are pukka if you get a good one and have more history than any German or English brands. Significant cultural importance too, they were instrumental in the 'great leap forward' in the latter stages of the Chinese cultural revolution when Mao was really off his nut and eradicated all the small birds in China and people were starving to death by the million. More significant than the ak47 in the political development of that dictatorship which we are still dealing with today. Yes, they are cheap, yes the customer has to final qc, but anyone who slates them is an ignorant gun snob in my opinion, and I would take pleasure in out shooting them with my dialled one. A piece of history many of us started off with as children. It should be celebrated.

Hello! I also have a Shanghai B1-1 air vent, the thing is not bad, but I need to refine it, there are a lot of jambs on the abbot corners and packaging. To make this air air normally, I drilled a 5mm bypass hole, polished the compressor, polished the barrel, cleaned and rounded off all the untreated ones angles and trunk fax, put a force spring from Smersh r9 and a cuff from crosman, after this upgrade it shoots no worse than Hatsan. Sorry for the mistakes, I'm just Russian

this is spot on friend…. they are good value…. for what you’re getting!…. i’ve got a .177 that i’ve had for years… i don’t use it that often.. but it’s power is quite impressive…. it’ll bury marksman pellets into wood no problem… which is a good test of power… i had a .22 version on the other hand which wasn’t anywhere near as powerful… glad i gave the.177 version a chance… I love it…. things don’t have to be expensive to be good….. I believe it’s based on an older model of the Diana….. I love the sights as well… the trickiest thing was drifting the sight at the end of the barrel… now i’m spot on every time…. i wanted to put a little 4x20 scope on…. but my friend says it won’t work due to the spring and piston… i would like to try it at least… and don’t understand why you can buy scopes and fit scopes… if they’re not going to work?!

Great video buddy. I have an old SMK B2 from about 2005...(oddly mine isnt branded anywhere and some folk call it a Stinger?). However whatever "brand" mine is it's the same as yours. I also sanded that vile chocolate paint off my stock and re-stained it a nice medium oak...(i was very luck because my stock is a nice piece of wood without any nasty marks in the wood). I also have a decent SMK LB600 Victory which i like very much as well. Your channel is awesome. Keep up the good work.

Perhaps I was lucky! I bought the Westlake version B2 in .177. and the stock is very nice indeed with a nice pattern amd very solid with no nasty noises. Tested over a chrono and got 6.8lbs and average 611 fps ( manufacturers claim 600 dependent on pellets) with 6.8 Superdomes. So all in all quite good. Paid £60.00 second hand so a bargain. Although not a long range hunter I have used it for rats and squirrels no problems. To get good accuracy best to fit a scope in my case a Hawk 4 x32. Would I recommend definitely yes , these rifles are so cheap especially second hand its worth a go. Cheers.

An ideal rifle for some one who is totally new to the sport, as a first rifle, or a rifle to break you in to the airgun world. It doesn't have to be super sexy or super powerful. I started off with a gat gun, then went to a Webley Tempest, then to a feinwerkbau sport. It's like every sport, you want a better/ lighter fishing rod, carbon golf clubs, onwards and up wards......good video JRH......

Wow yours is so clean and the stock is at least 3 times better than mine. I thought some animal had tried to varnish it but when I looked on the internet they came this bad it’s the worst finish I’ve ever seen on any thing never mind a gun. My dads best friend left me this gun when he died. I remember shooting it as a kid. I’m guessing Mid 80’s I owed a mk3 meteor myself since I was 10. So as a teenager he didn’t mine me shooting the smk west lake. It’s spent a good bit of its life in a garage. When I was told he’d left me the air gun. I was over the moon. I couldn’t remember what make or model it was I remembered the breech lever and thought it must have been a bsa airsporter. So it was a bit of a shock when it turned up. I’m going to re- blue it and luckily I’m very good with stocks because of jobs I’ve done in the passed I’ll make it a lot better than a B2 really deserves. But to be fair it shoots straight and feels like it hasn’t been used a lot. It’s quite powerful and everything is tight. So thanks Billy I will treasure it and never get rid. I find if I shoot vintage guns first by the time I’ve got round to maybe my TX200hc I’m shooting heads off match sticks. These old guns make you a lot better shot. I’d swear mine is a bit more accurate but I’ve only shot it a few times. I maybe wrong. While I’m writing this the west lake is across my lap being appreciated. So thanks for the vid. Like your self I only shoot targets at the range. The one and only thing I disagree with you on, is even like you say the terrible stock ( mine had filler to) is light and I also agree it’s front heavy. I think it’s good to look down and shoulders quite nice. And I also agree it’s worth owning and I’m surprised how many people with a lot of top of the range air guns also have a B2. I’ll put mine on the chronograph when I get chance and let you know the results. Cheers

@davemonday53813 жыл бұрын
@@ineedvaccineitnice2152 sorry if my previous reply didn’t make much sense. Someone asked about my old webley scott hawk. The answer is I haven’t got a clue mine is quite horrible in every way. I’ve only shot 30ft. In the garden and It’s accurate and seems to have punch to it. The previous owner used to shoot pigeons and squirrels so it must be fairly powerful but mine is horrible in every way. I’ve refinished the stock and I’ll re blue it but it will never be a thing of beauty. But I like it. I may take to the club sometime just to get chronograph’ed. I have a friend with a very old Chinese pump rifle he always brags I’ll never find anything worse. I must admit he’s still winning. The west lake is slightly better quality. I’m surprised how many gun collectors own them and mystified why. Cheers.

I got this platform in a Swiss Arms Synxt32 (.177 caliber), which supposedly delivers 1,000 fps (I live in the U.S.). I bought it new on clearance for $27, or about 18.5 British pounds, so I'll not be too let down if it doesn't perform well. It's my first break barrel air rifle, so I'll give it a go. I don't intend too much in the way of a tear down and re-lube, but is there anyway to gently offer a little lubricant to the spring that was seen through the slot when you had it apart?
@AirArmoury8 жыл бұрын
+J-Me At that price you can't go wrong! If you wish to use some lubricant without taking the thing apart, your best bet would be to put just a couple of drops of a silicone based lubricant into the transfer port (the hole where the air comes out behind the pellet when the barrel is closed) every few hundred shots.

These days they are called the SMK Classic Traditional B2 but some gun shops list them as just SMK Traditional B2, I had one back in 1996, it was the one shown here, the Westlake Traditional B2 made in China of all places and it was amazing in every single way, it did used to smoke a little bit though but was a powerful rifle and was super accurate, I could put pellet on top of pellet time and time again, I put more than 10,000 pellets through mine before selling it 4 years later, spring powered rifles are supposed to get more powerful and more accurate once bedded in, I've been looking at buying a one again and found that Wighill gun shop has them. Quite frankly, the best rifle I've ever used once you put a few thousand pellets through it to bed it in. Definitely buying another one of these to revisit the nostalgia, I used mine with just iron sights. Like somebody said here before, they could split pellets on a knife edge using this, it is super accurate once you've put a few thousand pellets through this, at the time I used to go through 500 in a weekend.

@AirArmoury9 жыл бұрын
Hi Sven. I bought the B2 as my first air rifle. My advice would be that if you just want to try shooting and are not sure whether you will like it or want to take it up as a hobby, then the B2 would definitely be worth getting. If you know you like shooting and are going to spend a lot of time doing it, I would probably get a slight better gun than the B2. You can get air rifles that are a lot better than the B2, for not a massive amount more, especially if you buy second hand.

@videorowtv51984 жыл бұрын
@@freshfrozen3035 This "rifle" has only about 10J of energy, on rabbits they usually use .22 lr which has 168J. This is just for plinking.

no the b1 is awful !
@AirArmoury7 жыл бұрын
Never got my hands on a B1 before, it's pretty similar to the B2 isn't it?
@andrewhowden38877 жыл бұрын
Air Armoury yes, they are all pretty terrible,but for plinking in the garden with open sites bearable, they are the cheapest guns.there is one lower in price to my smk 19 but I can't remember is name or find somthiing nice second hand.

Nope it's a s#it rifle, all of them are, barrel droop, barrel alignment left and right, buy a proper rifle, but save your money on this POS.

Shockingly bad gun, you get exactly what you pay for

Scrap! You'd probably be more accurate with a McDonald's straw and some paper lol Find the bin put it in and buy a weihrauch.
@AirArmoury9 жыл бұрын
+VerminSniperUnit I agree! As I said in the video, this is probably only really good for a beginner. I no longer own this rifle, my main springer is currently an Air Arms TX200.

In UK i believe you have good brands of air guns , but why you review that piece of shit?
@AirArmoury7 жыл бұрын
Yeah we have some great guns. Reviewed this one as it was my first ever air rifle, which I thought was fitting for my first ever video.
@peterloftus62597 жыл бұрын
Yes it is the most horrible rifle on the market.

I won't disagree with that.
