Absolutely Christine! Johnny & Kenny are such cool & down to earth genuine guys hands down. I’m 46yrs old now & the first song i heard by Type O was on the “Nativity In Black” Black Sabbath covers album by many metal musicians & Type O covered the “Sabbath Bloody Sabbath” which suited Type O to a tea because it was such a slow dirgy song & with Peter Steele’s deep baritone voice it was such an amazingly done cover & so dark & haunting 🤘

Thanks Type O Negative. Back in 2001 my son committed suicide. Instead of turning into a garbage head doing lots of drugs and booze. I was able to grieve through your music. Everything Dies, Everyone I Love is Dead etc. I also loved the guitar tone. Overdriven and loud to where if take your hand off the strings it's going to feedback. I needed that kind of energy to balance the intensity inside me. I was proud of myself for not just doing the substance abuse route. I appreciate your humor. Then and now. Peter, died on my birthday. April is suppose to be a new start with mother nature. April showers bring May flowers. With his passing, it feels more like a golden shower brings thorns. Hope I don't sound like a prick. I had thought C.T. could/would replace the Green Man vocally. I know an Aussie had asked him to do vocals on a tribute album. The TON people know who I'm referencing. Stay negative brothers. Dont grow up. Like an overdose of Colon Blow. Your shit affected the world more than many understand. Be cool Klaus. That's not a German Wacken festival comment. Goot in Himel

Horrendous about your son, man.. nothing like someone you love doing away with themselves and rejecting the world. I know that well, it changes everything you thought about life for a while, always a scar that never heals... it's just there, to remind you how f... the world can be from time to time. Big condolences, keep safely in your heart😔

No wonder they were completely overlooked and underrated. The music and poetry of this band is so beautiful. They were not presented right by their own representative,I feel like if they would have sold them better, they would have been even bigger.

I'm actually glad they did it the way they did. The more underground rock/metal scene has more heart and soul to it. If they ended up doing the Metallica thing, it would kind of ruin it for me, because that's not them. These are simply my opinions.

Even J & K admitted this was a GREAT interview. This guy needs to go over their entire career(s), ALL albums (incl b-sides, alt versions, etc.) anecdotes, tours, rumors, etc. AND, ffs....GET JOSH (or, AT LEAST, Sal) on here too, so we can get some BRAND NEW perspective on all this shit. @@randyreiser1692 I totally get where he's coming from and respect that he prioritizes his family, but it's still a bummer. The guys described it like getting out of the mob... once your in, you're typically in for life or until it kills you, and if you get out, you're lucky and never go back. 🤣 For a lot of us old school die hard fans though, it would be like sitting for an afternoon and catching up with an old friend you haven't seen in years and reminiscing about the gΘΘd Θl' days. 😔

@@randyreiser1692 I've been obsessing for the last couple of days about Type Θ, wathcing and reading a bunch of interviews, and I just had a random idea... We could put together an online open letter with signatures from a few thousand uber fans to Josh, politely asking him to reconsider, but also acknowledging respect and understanding for not wanting to do an interview, and just reminding him just how much he is respected, loved, and missed... Reading through the comments on the many videos I've been watching the last few days, I'm seeing that there are a LOT of us old schoolers, and even a strong showing of younger newer fans who would like to just hear from him and show our respect. Even if it didn't change his mind about doing an interview, it would be nice to simply send him that message.

47:30 - That's how I got my first copy of Bloody Kisses, ordered from Columbia House in the fall of 94 when I was only 17. I was receiving the Columbia House metal catalog every month and they had featured Type Θ on the cover like four times in the course of the year, so I thought I'd give them a shot. This was back when you had to fill out a card, send it in, then wait 3-4 weeks to get a package in the mail. Anyway, I off-handedly mentioned it to my buddy who turned me on to a bunch of metal bands, since he'd never talked about them and I wanted his opinion. At the time he wasn't into them yet, but his older brother was, and insisted I borrow their first album before listening to Bloody Kisses. Slow Deep and Hard changed my life. Gravitational Constant really resonated with me, as I was dealing with deep depression ar the time. The album was such an addiction for me that three weeks later, when Bloody Kisses arrived in the mail, I listened to it once right when it came, and went back to listening to SD&H 3-4 times a day - it sat gathering dust for about a month before really diving into it.🤣

In modern times, when anyone says blackmetal, most people think of second wave and later, as in the Norweigan scene. Back in the 80s when the term black metal was first coined, it refered more to a certain ambiance created by a raw sound and less than amazing production values. At that time, there were even people calling Mercyful Fate and Manowar black metal, simply because of the ambiance of their record production.
