30 years later I realized how hilarious their songs were. They were great, but the NY humor shined in those songs. Masterful!! And 2 guys asking questions is a little chaotic, no?

Geez i know the camera on Kenny is dark but he looks the same as he did in the 90's...🤘🍻🤘He answered the question about 90's metal and them "fitting" in perfect Type 🚫was/is a whole sound of there own.

It's funny that when you listen to a few type o songs, you can actually hear just a hint of a Crue influence in there, probably just touring and being in the moment, and that's not a bad thing. Kenny is a bad ass mofo and always will be. Probably one of mynall time favorite musicians! ❤
@saltpeter7429 Жыл бұрын
Of course there is. A lot of what separated Type O from the other "metal" bands of the 90's was the shameless melody. The band was damn good ear candy no matter how much they made fun of themselves with awesome self deprecating humor. Crue is a template, among others, for the heavy metal earworm, tunes that won't leave the head after a first listen. I miss Peter. I saw an interview on KZbin with him yesterday, ended up at a record store and happened upon DEAD AGAIN. Seemed like it was all meant to be, lol. I bought the album and have had a bit of a nostalgic journey playing it over and over. Those guys were real special...

I was at the Crue show in Sioux City back in 94. I wasn't into Type O, but then again they were kinda new to me. After their set I saw Peter standing at the mixer board as I was walking by. I said "Fuck, he is huge!"

LOVE when former Type O Negative band members collaborate on new things. A Pale Horse Named Death is so badass and I really liked Seventh Void alot. I wish there had been another album or two from the latter. Silver Tomb aint bad but I like the other two better. Im extremely curiouse to see what the full EYE AM album is gonna be like. Im hoping for some sludgey doom sounds. I wish we could get a project with Kenny, Johnny, Sal and get Josh to come back for a while. Something with all 4 surviving former Type O members. Especially since we know Sal and Kenny can both sing. Maybe even throw some guest vocals and playing in the mix. Guys like Phil Anselmo or Jerry Cantrell come to mind. Its just a bummer that Josh is done with music. He was a huge part of the Type O sound. He was their producer for Gods sake and doesnt get enough credit. Too many people see him as just a keyboard player. Nonetheless, all respect to him for living life on his terms. I'd do anything to have Pete back, above all else. He will always be missed. I'm 36 with no kids yet, but im going to ensure that even my grandchildren know his music.

Kenny is an incredible guitarist, truly amazing at his craft. If I had to choose one guitarist to learn from, there’s no question about it, it would be him. He has some solid riffs that create this chemical nirvana in the brain. That’s the only way I can describe it. I always feel this incredible surge of energy every time he plays. 🖤💚🖤

So, talk about synchronicity. I just, out of the blue, listened to Silvertomb's record twice yesterday for the first time in a while, really dig those tunes sad they don't seem to get the props they deserve. And as I was sitting down today for a round of youtube recommendations the door rang and my preorders of the Dead Again and Origin of the Feces vinyls came in from Nuclear blast. Happily sitting down to unpack my eye fell on my top recommendation, this new video with Kenny Hickey. Like, wow - the Metal Gods really trying to hammer home something here :-) Anyway, watched the interview, great stuff, good questions and some fun anecdotes. Seemed like kenny was relaxed and enjoying himself as were you guys. Heavy Galaxy is really like a warm bath, can't wait for the next video! PS: Get a better camera John, please :-)
