Great video as always Rob got my parents into watching your videos now they are both 76 and have been members of the BAA for 20+yrs. Dad use to fish it back in the 70's "Barble Alley" was the best stretch were 200-300lb was easily done. Its great to see all the places we go with such beautiful memories and the detail and information you go into from getting there too going back to the van after a day's fishing is the best on any channel. Probably get some numpty saying you have ruined it by reveling where the favourite swims are lol but you are encouraging people to take up our special pass time which is Barbel fishing can only be a good thing. Lovely way to end the season 9lber trust the Mrs to be on the phone lol happens to me all the time be dead for hrs she rings up and bang fish on-Good luck charm I reckon 🍀 TightLines mate cheers for the content and take care bit safer on puddles 😂🎣

As always, great content and editing Rob. Great idea to show the W3W location and the stretch too, but thought you'd have done some Benny Hill style, sped-up footage between pegs to save your final upload video length...and your lungs 😄 Btw...the mystery fish - Zander! 😉

Superb video Rob. Really informative. I will certainly give that a go. Didn't realise the BAA.had the stretch by the iconic bridge stanchions. Isn't the Trimpley stretch just up from there? Very.long walk I heard! Well done on that lovely Barbel. The close up shot was excellent, in particular. Got my friend John on to your videos. He agrees with me. Really top-notch. 👌

Came across your channel a few days ago after becoming frustrated fishing my local canals and blanking all the time. Im a lure fisherman so i target perch and pike. Ive decided to try river fishing for the first time and found the severn to be my local, I discovered BAA run a few stretches near me thought id do some research which is how i found you. Your channel is amazing and there is no one as helpful or as positive as you, i really enjoy your videos. The fact you show the parking/entrance and route to the river and show swims is brilliant. Im going to visit Quatford in a few days to check it out while the river seasons closed, any idea how the big perch/pike maybe even chub fishing is there? thanks again.
@RobsAngling10 ай бұрын
Thanks! Glad the vids help.. There are decent Perch all along the middle Severn - Just need to rove around and find them. Plenty of cracking chub also - They’ll usually be tucked away under any cover or in slacks/crease lines. Quatford is a great stretch to walk up/down - A good 20-25 pegs to go at there 👌👍

Hi Rob, well done on the end of season cracking barbel! I’m a BAA member and I have the 2023 BAA Guide to Waters and I cannot equate their map of the Northwood section with your walk along the stretch. The map seems to show the car park right next to the river further up Northwood Lane?
@RobsAngling9 ай бұрын
Hi Harry, hope you’re well. Can you send me a message on Facebook with a picture of the map. I’ll then help to describe back where I walked in relation to what you’re looking at 👍

HI @RobsAngling so after watching all your vidoes I went and had a walk along Apley and Quatford stretches as ive never been to a river before but interested to start when the season opens. Apley only seemed to have 4ish safe fishable swims from what i could see, I parked by the farmers gate and went left of the entrance down towards the private property at the end, did i miss some other part of this stretch? and Quatford had about 14ish accessible safe swims from Tonys diner through both meadows, at the end i came to pebble path with some sort of barn at the top on the left and didnt go any further as it looked private, is that the end of the BAA water do you know?. Do the BAA ever come out and fix swims make them safe and trim/remove bushes/dead trees/debris? Thank you.
@RobsAngling9 ай бұрын
Hi, there is a second meadow at Apley to the right hand side of where you walked.. There are more fishable swims in that direction. At Quatford, you’ve walked to the end of the stretch there. More swims are accessible when the banks are drier in the summer and you can wade out in the shallower sections also. BAA do some maintenance work on their stretches periodically but it’s not extensive or regular. Good luck when the season reopens. 👍🎣

@RobsAngling10 ай бұрын
I’ve got those 2.25tc rods to use on the Trent next season - I’ve got a couple of club tickets for a few Trent vids next season so I’ve done a couple of sessions to try them out before the end of this season. I’ll be back to using my 1.75tc rods on the Severn next season 👍🎣
@Accyboom10 ай бұрын
@RobsAngling how are you finding them? I bought a 2.25lb tc barbel rod a few seasons back. Was great at casting the heavy weights but the fight with a barbel was awful. The rod was too powerful to enjoy it. Should be great for the trent though. Nice work with the videos this season. Look forward to watching them next season.
