Uhh...why are they "wild" tench? Do they have tame ones which are easier to catch? And isn't April in the closed season?
@Jigger23614 күн бұрын
...great video! So... who upkeeps these "pegs" and where does the money go that anglers pay to fish? Is it possible to obtain a fishing license and fish any body of water in the UK or are many areas "managed" with a "fishing system" such as these pegs etc etc? Curious how it works

Brilliant, just ordered some of those rods, mainly for float fishing for carp with a centre pin and also for surface fishing 👍👍👍. You don't need broom stick rods for carp.

They’re great rods - Really impressed with them. 👌👍

Mate, watching that Arapaima scrap took me back! You had me reliving hookpulls in swims 16 and 2 so I know how you feel... gutted but elated and you're right - that's fishing! That's the buzz. Tom and Ollie are legends it's an awesome place!

Hi Rob, love your videos. Great fish! 👍 Ive seen on another comment you say this is Atcham area. I wonder if u have a video that shows this area and how to get to it like you did with the coalport one. Im a returning newbie. I used to do quite a bit of River Severn fishing for Barbel when i was a kid (10-12) and used to go with a group of chaps (family friends) unfortunately i no longer have contact with them and all i remember is sometimes we used to go Atcham and sometimes over Monkmoor?? I hope i have got that right. It was back in the days when most places were day ticket. If you have a video that shows either of these places, parking, how to get to the spots that would be brilliant. Id love to come back and do a spot of fishing on the river again. Tight lines!
@RobsAngling27 күн бұрын
Hi, glad you like the videos. I’ll likely be returning back to that area in late summer/early autumn. I’ll put a video together on the stretch for later in the year for you. 👍🎣

What do you think of those new 3K Allrounders? I know they are only £50 rods but when i looked at one in my local shop they seemed very hefty for a pound and quarter rod.
@RobsAngling27 күн бұрын
Hi Mark, sorry for the delay. I’ve been using these for 2-3 months now - They’ve got great versatility for a light rod. Had plenty of tench with a couple of unintentional carp to 18lb by chance. They’ve handled whatever I’ve needed them to do well so far casting out to around 60-70 yards. I’d recommend them 👌👍

This one isn’t near the Nene - There’s plenty of different styles of canal that hold tench around the country. The next video might look more like the type of canal you could have been expecting 👍

Hi Barry, Hope you’re well. We must have both found good spots.. The power lines won’t make any different in my opinion - The camera angle made my swim there look closer than it was to the wires 👍

@@RobsAngling That's not what our canal looks like by us... (the good ol' Shroppy) Looks more like The Fens rather than a canal. If you tried fishing maggot feeder around here, all you'd get is moidered by gudgeon, tiny perch and roach etc...not to mention the narrow boats! 🙄😩

Good to see that our canals are in a better state than our rivers. Do you ever fish at night for Tench?, as in my experience, you could catch four or five times as many after dark. Nonetheless, what a great way to spend a couple of hours, well done.🎣🎣

Great stuff bud, proper early tenching success! I don't know about you, but I've more than had enough of fishing in mud, my kit is absolutely filthy all of the time and I'm right fed up of cleaning it. This winter has been the worst I can remember. I was supposed to be having my first tench session today, but my club lake flooded really bad last night. One of the carp lads woke up at 2 am to see his shoes floating in 8 inches of water in his bivvy!

Hi Rob, well done on the end of season cracking barbel! I’m a BAA member and I have the 2023 BAA Guide to Waters and I cannot equate their map of the Northwood section with your walk along the stretch. The map seems to show the car park right next to the river further up Northwood Lane?

HI @RobsAngling so after watching all your vidoes I went and had a walk along Apley and Quatford stretches as ive never been to a river before but interested to start when the season opens. Apley only seemed to have 4ish safe fishable swims from what i could see, I parked by the farmers gate and went left of the entrance down towards the private property at the end, did i miss some other part of this stretch? and Quatford had about 14ish accessible safe swims from Tonys diner through both meadows, at the end i came to pebble path with some sort of barn at the top on the left and didnt go any further as it looked private, is that the end of the BAA water do you know?. Do the BAA ever come out and fix swims make them safe and trim/remove bushes/dead trees/debris? Thank you.
@RobsAngling2 ай бұрын
Hi, there is a second meadow at Apley to the right hand side of where you walked.. There are more fishable swims in that direction. At Quatford, you’ve walked to the end of the stretch there. More swims are accessible when the banks are drier in the summer and you can wade out in the shallower sections also. BAA do some maintenance work on their stretches periodically but it’s not extensive or regular. Good luck when the season reopens. 👍🎣
