Fantastic video of BABS. It's good to see it working again after being buried at the beach.

Brooklands, Racing's Holy Grail ! We Americans love Indy but Brooklands ahh there is a true beauty, I hope to one day go there and stand on the high banking, Bugatti's raced there,Napiers, The first woman racing driver would have raced there but was not alowed entry, It is said that Indy drew it's inspiration from Brooklands. I can almost feel the history from here, thousands of miles away. Thank you GB for your cars, and tracks, and Still produce the best racing engineers !! ER

I saw this car racing at the goodwood revival. It only managed about four laps and then a fuel line burst, still, it was fantastic to see it!

@EarlRausch Brooklands, Now is little more than an industrial estate, a housing estate, some industrial units, memories and a couple of museums. Some sections of banking remain however. If you wish to see what's left of it you can watch Britain's James May racing Scalextric slot cars around the old track, using bridges, floating sections, drains & channels. All quite cool. Sad the track's gone for sure, but wouldn't be allowed on safety grounds now. Vickers had their headquartes here

Wow, I'm really glad you enjoyed it. I guess in the states it would have survived. You have more space. But The land got redeveloped. I think the feeling was; banked tracks had come of age. I mean there were a lot of deaths. James May really is an enthusiast, and an all round good bloke. His passion for nostalgia, and boys toys is top notch. But he really did manage to race cars around the old track again!!

@lubbockboy1 Check wikipedia for BABS (car). It was used for land speed records back in the 20's.

I hear the rightful owner is to lose the car. Apparently he recovered and restored it in good faith, only to have his ownership called into question after the fact. Anyone know more?
