Pigs make great pets (boars are probably a little more specialized and I wouldn't get one unless you know exactly what you are doing). But be warned with pigs. There are a lot of teacup pig scams out there. There is such thing as a teacup pig, but they do NOT stay tiny. A well taken care of and well fed mini pig will still get to be anywhere from 75 to 200 pounds. Just be warned that they get big. Still great pets and aren't any more difficult to take care of than a dog, but be prepared to be essentially getting a LARGE dog.

That relationship is wonderful, but as usual, The Dodo's editing is all over the place. The boar is way bigger at "day 45" than at "day 100", and way smaller at "day 365 - almost as big as you!" than at "day 300". Why bother with date labels if you're obviously going to pick random shots throughout the year to illustrate them?

This is what our politicians should have to watch an hour of every day and write what they observed, their interpretations, and feelings. I know many don't have souls and BS, but this could be a helpful example that might rub off on some and weed out many to promptly be fired while poetic candidates scramble to take their places. Seriously, if the world would keep this energy going and perceive them as exemplary, we'd have a new world. Also, we'd quit allowing appalling manufacturing farms, provide highly punitive laws for animal abuse, and provide nurturing loving environments for animals. I hereby decree this new world to escape to. Amen

We found three little boars decades ago, bottle fed them and raised them to adulthood on our farm. They LOVED playing soccer for some reason ^^ One went to a pig breeder who wanted to cross breed boars with wool pigs and the other two reamined with us, went on walks and everything until one day thex decided to walk straight into the woods and not to come back. Guess they wanted to move out ^^ We misse them dearly. Waited a few weeks but they never came back. We informed the hunters in the area about two young boars who are not shy and would probably approach them for treats etc, so they wouldn't be mistaken for being rabbid or something. We still have some videos on VHS but undortunately not in digital form.

The absolute and complete innocence of that baby boar happily climbing into the jaws of would have been a natural predator in the wild is beyond precious. It’s the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen.

I used to live at the edge of a forest heavily populated with boars. Large families would come around to our garden , root it up, destroy the area. They were cute AF, but also incredibly strong and quite large, with the smallest females at 50kg (110 pounds or so), and the large males at easily 100kg plus, around 220 pounds or more. They are fast, vicious and in no way is a large dog, no matter the size, or even a wolf would take down a boar. A youngling? Yeah maybe, but those never go without their mothers, who are incredibly defensive. Tl;dr, boars have very few natural enemies (Bears , wolf packs, hunters ), and labs sure are not some of those :)
