Mies has a precious face! I didn't know baby gorillas start out crawling. Thank you. Is daddy a danger to baby? In other videos of yours daddies play gently with babies. Yes. Mies that lettuce is like gum, once the flavor is chewed out of it who needs it? That baby with the top notch is so cute!

Daddy isn't a danger. But mommy doesn't allow daddy to touch Mies yet. Mies and daddy Komale do look very interested in each other, maybe in a few weeks or months they'll be able to get closer. ;)

I’m wondering why his mom wouldn’t let him play with the ball. It’s almost like she just wanted to get him away from that close proximity to his dad. I get the impression that, strange as it may seem, the moms aren’t comfortable with the babies bonding closely with their dads.

Normally the dads do not have a big part in raising the kids. They protect the family from danger and he teaches what the rules are when they are old enough. Some silverbacks (daddy's) do play with their children but only when they are old enough to play a bit rough. It's very normal the moms protect their children and that's why it is very special if you see a silverback play or be gentle with a little baby. The ball was really close to dad, that's why she did not let her baby girl play with it for that moment. Because dad could also wanna use the ball, and it's close to him so it is his. Hope it answers your question. ;)
