Could sit here and watch dear Charlotte eat for hours. Her tiny hand full of one grape ! Imagine a fruit that was exactly like a green grape but the same in proportion to our hands as one is to hers ? Not sure if I worded that properly . What you have done with her lifts the heart . It really does . You know , if several years ago you’d gone to a consultant of sorts and told them that you had this vision of ,not only rescuing baby Vervet monkeys , but then teaching them to drink from a soy-milk vending machine 3X a day (in the bush , essentially) and spending the rest of their youth fostered to an adult female (sometimes male) monkey (that you were fairly sure would embrace mothering an infant that they hadn’t given birth to) ….. ?! No need to say more . Y’all are tenacious visionaries with hearts of gold. And I look forward to being able to put some money where MY heart and words are. Won’t be a stack but it’ll buy a LOT of grapes ! You’ve earned a permanent place in my heart .

I am going to try and get over there next summer to help with the babies and everybody! I had been saving I all the money I needed. I had a heart attack Friday. They had to put a stint in mid LAD. I am better, but now can't travel for 6 months to a year. Hopefully see you and the babies, and monkeys soon.

I just love Charlotte's fluffy side whiskers! You've all done so well with her and my word she's a little fíghter! I hope her left side weakness and epilepsy improve enough for her to be in a troop later. Ever since the eye improved she seems to be observing her surroundings very thoroughly. Love her appetite! Elio is amazing too. So confident and adventurous despite what he's been through. Good luck to the guy in the cage! And thank you all for the quickest hour of the week!

I notice that Charlotte is not seeming to notice the orientation of her hand and foot on the left side. When normal numerological function is present they will automatically put a hand and foot sole down if it gets turned over. I noticed she was not moving the left side fore arm normally and keeping the hand curled back and then when you were trying to get her to walk she was not placing her foot correctly or even noticed it was turned back even when you placed it correctly. This could be a sign of swelling on the right side of the brain (the opposite side of the brain controls the motion of the limbs) and that foes seem to hold with the face that the right eye showed more injury than the left. If it's just swelling it should subside and she will get use of the left side, but if there was actual brain damage from impact and/or bleed on the right this could be either a long rehab much like after the effect of a stroke or a permanent disability. The one thing she has going for her is that primates due seem to overcome brain injury quite well and have a better ability to program other uninjured parts to take over as long as the injury is not to great. Without an MRI for diagnosis as an x-ray really cannot tell you the extent of tissue damage it just maybe that time will tell waiting to see if she improves and some if the negative neurological signs go away

Charlotte is such a trooper!!! She is definitely fighting to get well!!!❤️🐵❤️ *** Note*** Just curious if you've ever tried adding high fat vegetable based oils like flax, safflower, avacado, or other similar type oils in Charlotte's smoothies? I know when I interned in the TBI recovery unit (I'm an RN, for human primates, LoL) we added oils like the kind I mentioned into smoothies, and meals for many of the patients because they are loaded with Omega-3 and high chain fatty acids which really help with brain health. Just thought I would mention it because it might help.🤷🤞❤️❤️❤️❤️! Keep up the GREAT WORK!!!

So hurtful to see the badly injured and struggling babies. Perhaps if the shooters and others were made to sit alone and watch these videos, they would begin to understand the tremendous cost in love and effort required trying to nurse the babies back to health, and the pain suffered by the little ones. Could make a difference, or at least I would like to think so.
