I like kids as much as anyone else who does, still gotta say following a kid on social media or "kid influencers" (which is kind of an oxymoron due to the fact that the parents controlling the account are the actual influencers and that's sketchy in itself) is kind of a really creepy thing to due. I volunteered at an orphanage for several months, one near my house, and something they told us constantly is to never take pictures/share content with the any of the kids there. I live in Monterrey (Mexico) so we had kids coming from gangs or children of cartel members half of the time. That meant that someone from their past could track them down and possibly harm them/take them away. It’s so bizarre that a place like that could not only show the kids casually, but allow people to make creepy comments about them or force them to do it. It’s truly heartbreaking and I can only hope they’re safe and sound :((
@Justignorekas Жыл бұрын
This is what I was thinking. Orphanage is different from a shelter. Shelter implies they had to run from somewhere unsafe. And even then if the child was forcibly removed from a family and sent to an orphanage means their family may be a physical danger to the kid and everyone else living there.
@lazynoodle6739 Жыл бұрын
Yeah that's kind of the aspect that I feel should be more touched on - it's not just putting kids that are too young to consent online. It's putting children in very vulnerable situation online to be seen by strangers, and as you said could put them in danger. The children at the shelter are in an extremly vulnerable position

I'm Persian and one thing that people of other countries don't know about a lot of countries around here is that most people don't really care about children in shelters or how they're treated. What concerns me first and foremost before we even get into the issue it the fact that they are posting content of children in a shelter in the first place. When I was a child my mother ran a shelter for children and because of the fact that a vast majority of children who end up in this situation were previously abused by their parents or guardians. That meant we were not allowed to take photos of the children and share that with the world. That is because of the safety risks in regards with being found by their abusers or opening them up for future abuse as sick people will position themselves close to these kids in shelters hiding behind the facade of wanting to help or make donations. We had severe issues with this so I have major issues with just the simple fact that what they are doing by posting the vulnerable abused children online on tiktok where creeps are constantly.

I’ve been down my own rabbit hole on this topic in the past and my main issue was the videos where baby Totu looks completely terrified and scared of the whole situation. Another thing I saw a lot was people being critical of the “newborn reflex” that caused her to open her mouth wide when the person behind the camera gave a signal. There was also a video where Totu was alone with two adult men and they were getting her to do a bunch of weird stuff including eating a lime with the peel on. That same video also has a man in the background zipping his fly like he briefly had his pants down. I know there’s bound to be tons of misinformation but something about Totu and the adults around her still give me a gross feeling.
@armcollector5856 Жыл бұрын
I agree... another thing that bothers me is if TOTU knew the lady that works/owns the shelter why would she be so terrified & screaming that much. Either she does know this lady ( and the 2 men u mentioned) but she is terrified bc they do bad things to her, and also do bad things to her. I feel like she also sees those horrific comments under those videos & she has no problem, usually with kids u would disable the. I hope & pray to God TOTU is really ok, but either way something Is not right, why would she not be in the videos with her mom, but with this lady ( whoever she really is ) anytime chil6are involved I get my feelings to involved & it will make me think all kind of things. I didn't even know about the things with the 2 men that happened, that's SICK & DISGUSTING, why would u put a little girl on the internet ( tik tok all places ) and she's got injuries ( bruises & other marks ) & why have her on it as well if she's that upset & clearly don't want to be round them, she's scared. Wonder why inabber didn't mention it show this part here bc it would've really make me know something isn't right at all, guess I'll go find the rabbit hole so thank you for that info, lastly I don't think her mother ( but never watched really but they make it seem this way ) is in any video, and why would she pick only TOTU ( she gets the most views) I feel it may be bc she had the other children on it & just picked the child that got most views ( but just speculation) Idk maybe if it was a few videos with the real mom &, little girl, but to see comments & shares like that if she had no nefarious reasons she would disable them or not do it at all, if u got any other info I'd really appreciate whatever u can tell me bc this story breaks my heart ( reminds me of the channel with the little girl wren & her mom can't believe she still doing it knowing children are not safe from pedophiles & when she ( ABC she read that scrip she had or even something from her PR TEAM ) really don't like her, she deliberately puts that 3 yr old in bikinis & crop shirts, taking baths eating weird food then give her a tampon & ask her where it goes ) she tries saying all her followers are mostly women ( but u can't know that ) and she sees the horrific comments & sharea. I also think WREN mom sells some of her daughter pictures ( not sure on that one ) anyway if u know a way to direct me to just a video to find the videos on this topic like the ones u watched, anyways again thanx & have a good rest u week & weekend!!
@metannoya0073 Жыл бұрын
And I understand why those clips couldn’t be added to this video because of demonitization and Totu being the main focus, but at the same time it feels unjust to make a judgement without acknowledging there are actual videos of Totu being in suspicious situations with people that aren’t her caretakers which as far as I know have yet to be addressed.
@armcollector5856 Жыл бұрын
@@metannoya0073 agreed... I know we all getting tired of seeing videos & hearing stories of to many innocent babies being failed & noone ( not one person helped ) tried to help... sometimes u got to watch what u show & say, but then I think well the best thing to do is show everything bc they sure as hell are ( ppl that hurt children make my blood boil ) anyways what you've learned going down this hole from what you've seen what Is u opinion? I heard this "caretaker" with TOTU still isn't addressing TOTU mother. Anyways I just hope this little baby girl is or will be ok, and it's safe to say their is still to many questions round this whole deal, well hope u have a wonderful weekend & u be safe out there!!

Not saying some kind of abuse isn't happening in the shelters. I sincerely hope it's not the very extreme absolute worse possible abuse people can imagine - but who knows? Anyways, it could be possible the child is suffering from seizures, thus the confused 1000 yard stare or fussyness. She could also have a varity of issues, from being on the autism spectrum to having other neurological conditions to who knows? Obviously it is somewhat abnormal behavior for a child her age and I do sincerely hope she gets the much needed help in a safe enviroment. I think it may be too assumputious to believe everything she is dealing with solely stems from abuse and isn't already some kind of congential or neurological condition, as we do not know the state of her health outside of her being very sick.
@kansasrush3444 Жыл бұрын
And in those videos Totu is well past the age for that reflex and it isn’t a jerk reaction opening like shown with her. The actual reflex shows infants opening and reaching towards whatever is touching their face but it isn’t an instant jaw drop & lock & stay open for the camera. I saw the video of the men & it’s scary because they’re holding her, having her sit on them, & all alone with her with their phones taking videos & pictures. I’ve also watched videos where the owners actual child & Totu are in it together & you can see the difference in a child who is loved , spoiled, and treated well vs one who is scared to move, make a sound, let alone touch anything set in front of her. Also, the video of her where her arm appears broken while a man behind the camera does stuff to her to make her cry basically. It’s absolutely disgusting

here (once again) as a senior BA psych student Totu is definitely unable to even understand why a camera is focused on them all the time - all they see is that someone stares at them with seemingly little to no emotion or feedback. The “still face” experiment explains this pretty well. When a mother/caretaker stops interacting with them, they become stressed, they start to cry - because they feel like they lost their primary caregiver. the theory of mind only develops around the age of 3-4, when they understand desires, wants, hopes and information of/from others. Basically, Totu can’t understand what the hell is going on around them and posting them even if the donations goes to helping Totu and the other children is wrong, and exploitatory.
@theMoporter Жыл бұрын
I’m really glad you commented as someone who knows something in an educated position. I would like to say, though, that Theory Of Mind is conceptually fallible. It was theorised in the mid 20th century and doesn’t have much basis in objective fact. For example, one of the ways it’s discussed is saying autistics don’t have Theory of Mind, because autistic children respond to roleplay differently than allistic children, They usually don’t understanding that a doll was supposed to be unaware of a fact the child knows. Autistic adults dispute this interpretation because it assumes that the children were supposed to ascribe sentience to an inanimate object rather than a person. When I took a university psychology course a few years ago, no criticism of this study was included. Other studies that support the concept are more compelling, but we should be sceptical of any conclusion that ascribes motivations and thought processes to subjects that can’t immediately dispute them. Hope that didn’t come across as rude but it’s such a common misconception!

@@theMoporter There's some research suggesting anthromorphaisation of non-human things (which autistics do a lot) might be a modality of empathy which is cool. Lots of autistic people empathise with things like ... old pens and stuff. It's not the same as theory of mind but does call further question into the understanding of ToM being the same in all neurotypes. I'd argue we express and navigate theory of mind, and empathy in a variety of ways and narrow research designs pathologise and deny any versions they didn't experience or consider themselves. But yeah some research shows kids displaying theory of mind skills as early as 18 months (such as the brocolli experiment).
@theMoporter Жыл бұрын
@@qwandary that's really cool! And yeah I'm one of those autistics that anthropomorphises things lol. I end up giving stuff almost mini stories in my head. Not as difficult as some people get it, though - feeling bad about throwing stuff away because it would feel sad. I've heard it referred to as a kind of synaethesia, which makes sense in a way. My brother is also autistic and he has sound synaethesia, where he gets colours when listening to music. The other thing it connects to is that I have PDA autistic profile, which makes me naturally proficient at roleplaying. It's all so new and understudied 😅 I'm glad there are students like you who know what's up!
@qwandary Жыл бұрын
@@theMoporter I'm not sure I get the synaethesia link because that's coding empathy as a sense and not a feeling. By that logic misophonia (where you get emotional responses from sounds, usually negative) would be synaesthesia rather than a sensitivity. I wonder if that's an academic theory or a layman way of explaining similar but atypical 'crossed wires' type stuff? I personally don't think empathising with non-human things is a case of crossed wires but a way of exploring natural emotions we have. Like if we went further, assuming that's the argument, then empathising with non-human characters in stories, where we know they're just a character and they might not even be human, like an alien, or a talking ship, would also need some kind of explanation for the 'crossed wires' when in reality telling stories and feeling empathy for the characters within is a natural way we develop our empathy and explore it. I think anthropomorphising things serves the same function but is just a different manner of doing it that gets pathologised. I might have totally misunderstood the argument though haha (Also I'm not trying to make you debate for or against it, just mulling over an idea I've never heard before!)

You said for us to leave our thoughts below. So I will give mine and also just wanted to clear a couple things up. There are also a few details you must have forgotten to mention.... 1. Totu was NOT found rummaging through dust bins. You mixed up the children. The Mother you spoke about at the end, blaming the father for the child’s condition, is a TOTALLY different baby. 2. When Totu first got to the shelter, they said she was sick. Have you seen pictures of her when she got there? She looked like a happy, healthy, very well fed child. Not a mark on her, FULL head of hair. Yes, they have shown medical documentation of her “condition”. Yet, her symptoms don’t match her “illnesses”. Documents can be faked. 3. They also said one of her legs was shorter then the other. Odd that you don’t notice that until AFTER she’s been at the shelter and AFTER the picture of her looking like she saw the devil himself. 4. Did you happen to notice that it wasn’t until after that when she walked her foot would turn out and she was scared to move? 5. They said her hair fell out because she was sick. Did you see the video of her and Konuls daughter, where Totu imitates pulling her hair out? 6. Have you seen the videos of all the many rich grown men flying in to “visit” with Totu? To bring her gifts? In one video it looks like a man zipping his pants up and why were these strange grown men feeding her lemons? 7. Have you seen the videos of Raul (Konuls son) with Totu? Kissing on her? How about the video of Rauls girlfriend Aysel with Totu? 8. Have you not noticed that in 80% of the videos that there is food in them? She knows not to touch any food until she performs for the camera first. Sometimes she won’t even take the food w/o looking petrified or crying. They have to physically put it in her mouth. 9. The mind-numbing madness of the Symbolism you said right? One, people didn’t go “mad” because they saw a BALENCIAGA shirt on Konuls mother. This was after people had already seen tons of videos already. Ok, you say no bid deal right? Means nothing right? I guess you didn’t notice the Mother obviously, intentionally moving her jacket so that logo would be seen very clear?? BALENCIAGA also was not just a scandal. It was a scandal that referenced children with, child trafficking, satanic rituals, bdsm and panda bears in bondage gear. 10. Pandas are cute, no big deal right? No, unless you see all the many panda references and you know what pandas represent. In the world of csa and trafficking.. they call it “Panda eyes”. Why, because when a child is sodomized the trauma to their body is so severe that both their eyes turn black and blue and they look like a panda. 11. Did you see the many videos where Totu opens her mouth or sticks her tongue out on on command or when someone touch’s their finger to her chin? 12. Did you notice that they use filters on her most of the time? Why? 13. Have you paid attention to the videos enough to notice that the majority of the ones you see now are actually older videos? 14. It has been said that Totu is on the dark web in thousands of videos. 15. Have you noticed how often she looks like she is dissociating? Repeated childhood sexual trauma causes Dissociative identity disorder. 16. If all the other children were removed because of these allegations .. why was Totu and Nur aloud to stay? 17. Have you seen the videos of the house? The bedrooms.. etc... spotless always... that’s a lot of children to have a spotless house and not one toy out of place. 18. The huge billboard Of Totu eating sausages? 19. Queen Bashi flip flopping her “facts” about everything? Deflection, distraction ? 20. Have you watched the video of the child that was the victim? Her saying that they were not given food. They were burned with cigarettes. Sexually abused and had their hair set on fire??? I could go on, but I will stop there. I am grateful that you brought awareness to Totu. However, seems like you set out to “debunk” a lot of things. Could somethings like the symbolism be a coincidence, maybe to some. However, when you take these “coincidences” and add them to the FACTS... they are no longer coincidences. I’ll simply say this, unless you have seen all her videos on all of Konuls (many social media platforms) and all of the people who have been so kind as to come “visit” Totu, you don’t know the whole story. There is way more to this than you spoke about. Millions of people are concerned for Totu. With good reason and NOT just from the USA. We are NOT over reacting. This is a child who shows all the signs of abuse and trafficking. THEY put her out there to get $$$. They are the ones who exploited her. What about, “See something, say something “ ... only if it’s in our own country? It doesn’t work that way. This is NOT a bunch of insane TikTokers who saw a woman with a BALENCIAGA shirt and blew this up for no reason. The videos are enough in themselves for people to be concerned, but then on top of that an investigation, children removed from the home and victims stating detailed stories of abuse????? Why then is the shelter not closed? Why have no charges been brought? Why is the “media” not covering it for what it is? Why is Totu and Konuls daughter Nur still there? I’m sure it has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that her father is the deputy prime minister right and that they have ties to the military. Anyone can see by simply watching these videos, that something is very wrong. Anyone who knows a survivor of csa and have heard their stories, can tell somethings wrong. Anyone who has researched child trafficking, child sex abuse and elite pedophile rings can tell somethings wrong. Based on all of this, could justify coming to the conclusion that this is way more than “just” a “little Safe Shelter” for women and children”. Besides actually seeing the abuse happen, what other proof would someone need to see. All you have to do is look in her eyes. I don’t know exactly what happened to this precious baby. What I do know is that when it comes to the abuse of a child, I personally am going to assume it’s true until it’s proven not to be, than to assume it’s not true and ignore it. Let me just add that this is MY OPINION and MY OPINION ONLY based on my knowledge and observations.

> obviously, intentionally moving her jacket so that logo would be seen very clear Because it's a high-fashion brand and the point of having it on your clothes is to show it off (I come from a similar country and understand the show-off culture). I really don't get why people think that bad people are out here signalling their crimes to the audience with secret symbols like we're in a badly-written thriller. Also the balenciaga scandal in itself is just completely deranged and I don't even understand how it became a scandal. With the amount of mental leaps it takes to actually conclude something bad from that ad, I think a handful of people were just looking for something to be offended by. And I really doubt anyone in Azerbaijan has heard of it. I'm North American and I hadn't even heard of it.

@@pinklemonade8320 and I’m not even saying that everything is on the up and up with this shelter because I honestly don’t have enough information to know it’s difficult to determine because there’s a lot of language and cultural barriers and I just simply don’t have enough factual information to make that determination from being totally honest and I don’t like that even if their intentions are good, and they may be that they’re using these children in an exploitative way, and even if their intentions are completely innocent, the fact of the matter is there are perverts on the Internet and they can take the most innocent, and fun type of video or a photo off of someone’s social media, and they can twist it into something perverse and use it for perverse reasons for lack of a better way of putting it. No there very well could be at the very least neglect, emotional neglect abuse, and possibly, something more sinister. Yeah I mean it’s it’s possible but it’s not up to the public Internet to make that determination with a bunch of misinformation and wildly speculative, far-reaching assumptions you know that muddies the waters quite a bit. You have to really stick to the facts and you can’t use your emotions and, what you think because human beings are notorious for seeing what they want to see if someone tells you this is what’s going on you’re going to look for everything that confirms that belief. Confirmation bias is very easy way of explaining it is confirmation bias you’re going to look for things that doesn’t support that theory, and that truth or what you believe to be the truth, there are authorities involved and I’m sure there’s even more going on behind the scenes that we’re not being made aware of and yes, I know Azerbaijan is extremely corrupt as far as journalistic integrity, and the international corruption scale, a ring, quite poorly as far as having accurate media, and just corruption is really terrible there as it is a lot of places but falsely accusing someone of something so Heynis is just as troubling and just as irresponsible as doing nothing if a child is being abused so you do the best you can with the information that you have the facts that you have not the speculation not the bullshit you heard on the Internet because somebody told you that you need to have a more critical eye be more discerning and I think it’s weird that they’re posting all the children and things like that but the fact of the matter is it’s getting the money it’s getting them views I don’t think people recognize how extremely sheltered and poor, basically people are in Azerbaijan. You know people don’t have a lot of money to get. Yeah, there are wealthy people there don’t get me wrong, but the average person doesn’t have money to give so I’m assuming they rely heavily on international donors and support and look at how many other friends are either just outright clueless and completely naïve to the fact that they’re exploiting their kids you know it happens everywhere and there’s so fucking many of them, so why is it so hard to believe that some hole in the wall shelter in Azerbaijan and the people affiliated with it. Why is it so hard to believe that they could be ignorant to the Darkside of society and children on the Internet? You know if there’s thousands of American parents naïvely posting things of their children, publicly naturally one could understand someone in Azerbaijan, doing the same thing and having the same sentiment.

A lot of my career currently revolves around handling misinformation and this is honestly just a breath of fresh air to hear. I encounter so many people who jump right into the rabbit hole of assumptions or conspiracies and legitimately try their hardest to spread it. It's sad, but also extremely concerning when you see how adamant a lot of them are in trying to convince everyone else of their conspiracy.
@keylimetea Жыл бұрын
Do you believe this to be a case of misinformation or are ppl rightfully concerned?
@checksam Жыл бұрын
I believe the strive to convince others of their misinformation mostly has to do with online clout and attention, or stroke their ego in some way. it's really not much more than that, and it's honestly scary.
@snacks9294 Жыл бұрын
@@keylimetea Given the information that we do have, I think people are justified in being worried, but the reason for them being worried isn't quite the same. It's entirely valid to be skeptical of the treatment of children, especially when they're being used to advertise or entertain for a company/agency/etc. That being said though, the local authorities have already checked the place out and have done what they could on their end to ensure that the agency was acting accordingly and that the kids were looked after. I personally think that most of this is a good case of misinformation that has spiralled out of control. Does that mean that there can't be any corruption and that they're clear of any blame or fault at all? No, not at all. I've lived in a lot of countries where corruption for this kind of thing was far too casual and people's status or connections got them out of trouble with the law. Given the eyes on the shelter though and the constant research being done by people both within the country and outside of it, I feel like it's unlikely that this is actually the case. Misinformation comes in many forms, and this is a great example of it. People love to come up with ideas and theories on alleged wrongdoings, especially with the 'guilty until proven innocent' mindset that has been carried around the internet for a while now.

Why do people have careers about deeming things as misinformation? Genuinely curious. How many of you would you say they are? What kind of companies hire these services?
@snacks9294 Жыл бұрын
@@ArtTasticCreations People have careers that involve misinformation and handling misinformation to keep said misinformation from spreading. Things that were dangerous about covid misinformation, for example, had to be moderated and papers fact-checked to verify said claims. When you share misinformation on any public platform, it becomes the platform's obligation to moderate said misinformation and handle it to avoid spreading it- but most of them do it so that they don't get sued. Most platforms that involve comments, media sharing, or discussion-boards in general for any larger media groups will have paid teams to moderate and manage what goes through. And it honestly depends on whether the hired teams come with their own moderation platform software, an ai/auto-flag algorhythm joined with it, and a team of IT people behind it or if they're hired and use the site's platform. I'm currently in this career because it suits my lifestyle! It's not an easy job though since we deal with all the stuff that really shouldn't be aired to the public: namely hate speech, misinformation, extreme violence, etc. Given the state of the world nowadays, you can kind of imagine the nasty stuff that can come up. It's now a full-on need for people to hire moderation services to protect themselves and their clients from misinformation and conspiracy.

Concerning children being in the spotlight of social media, I absolutely agree with you. My generation, and my friends group, were the last generation that got an internet-free childhood. Our embarrassing moments, childhood photos, anything about us was communicated with only close friends and family through media that only circulated so far because there wasn't any sort of apparatus to share it. And I watched a lot of my friends absolutely invade their kids' privacy by plastering their entire lives online. Some did this from their pregnancy or the kid's birth all the way to the kid moving out or going to college, with every aspect in-between also made public. But then they would complain that their kids were 'glued to the phone'... well you've published their entire life online, what did you expect? 😞

I had a feeling when I heard the one woman say Tuto meant ‘taken’. For some reason, some translators (and English to Turkish and to Russian are the worst-Azerbaijani is a Turkish language) give meanings as the opposite. Searching, you will find that it actually means hold or given. Not sure why, but it makes conversation rather difficult😂. Another thought: these kids are in a shelter for a reason-they have experienced trauma of some kind, so they may look or behave accordingly-or even suffer from early mental illness. Having said that, it’s icky to put them on display for self aggrandizement if that’s what’s happening, or worse for profit-and if you read Wikipedia about the current regime and this woman’s family, well, that may be it. I hope not, but she is in such a powerful position, that it is impossible to tell if there was any real investigation done.

Because there is only one pronoun in turkish and Azerbaijan, so the auto translator chose a default pronoun to refer to her, in this case "him". If you don't know, Azerbaijani and turkish are basically %80 the same language, so speakers of both languages can understand each other.

I haven't had too in depth training on it, but since I work with kids, I have had required trainings about identifying child abuse. And know what it didn't say? If you believe that a kid is being abused that they 100% must be. And at least for my job, you cant accuse anyone yourself, you talk to someone higher up who is better equipped to handle that situation. That care center is shady, but people blow things way too out of proportion way too quickly ("this place is kinda shady, it must be the worst possible option"), which like you said, devalues the possible arguments that could be made against it.

I am a survivor of severe child abuse, minor sex trafficking, and CSAM (child sexual abuse materials) I was abused before I could even walk or talk. I was 6 yrs. old the first time I was sold to a man in a motel. I was 7 the first time I was used in CSAM. I worked so hard for many years to heal from the trauma I endured as a child and teen. I now work as a Human trafficking Expert and an anti-child abuse activist. I work with some amazing organizations and have worked with over 400 victims. I feel blessed to help others that have been through what I have, in fact, it’s my work with survivors that have helped me to heal the most. a couple of the organizations that I work with had been flooded with calls and emails about "baby Totu" claiming she was being trafficked. When the reports were made to the proper authorities, We were informed that it was FAKE! unfortunately, there have been MANY conspiracy theories focused on child trafficking that started around 2016 and seemed to have spread even more during Covid. It’s ironic... I spent years raising awareness of trafficking back when people didn’t even know what human trafficking was or they thought trafficking only happened in other countries. Fast forward 10 years and people are literally making up stories of children being trafficked! This truly is mind-boggling to me. I don’t think I will ever understand. There are so many REAL victims of trafficking with REAL stories of being trafficked, why do people feel the need to make these things up As a survivor and someone who has worked in the anti-trafficking movement for 11 yrs. I have never seen anything like the misinformation I have seen for the past 3-4 yrs. The problem: When people lie, start rumors, and spread misinformation it hurts REAL victims and the REAL movement. It takes resources away from children that are really being trafficked and used in CSAM! People see this stuff on youtube Tik Tok or whatever and instantly believe it. That’s the problem. We all have critical thinking skills to decern fact from fiction PLEASE I urge people to use those critical thinking skills! Use your discernment. I am sure many people that have gotten involved in this fight to "save baby Totu" believe it’s true and they just want to help a child that they think is being abused/trafficked. I commend that I really do and that’s exactly what people should do... if it is REAL! The TRUTH matters especially in situations where a child is being abused in any way! There is no room for lies rumors or misinformation when it comes to a child’s safety and wellbeing. There are many different ways people can help in the anti-trafficking movement and like I said before there are plenty of REAL victims with REAL stories! Imagine if the people spreading misinformation put all that energy towards the truth and real victims. So much awareness could be spread on things that truly need that awareness. Thank you for this video. towards the end ...you say "This only impacts victims negatively" and you couldn't be more right!!!

Children often get bruises and it by no means is hard evidence of abuse. My 3 year old nephew gets bruises constantly. He is hyperactive and often trips, falls, runs into things, throws things, etc. I am not saying to ignore bruises, but to look for additional signs of abuse. Look at the Childs behavior, look for signs of emotional distress, etc. I really hope that someone does look into this shelter to investigate if the children are being abused.

So I know it's been disclosed that the sausage and a lot of other things featured in the video are all cultural and not disturbing, but there's no explanation for flying out grown men to just hug and cuddle a baby. Literally none. Like, literally everyone knows that having a baby do basically meet-and-greets is distressing and weird and that male fans of kids Totu's age and younger are fuckin' weirdos. As much as I'd like to believe Totu is all right, the fact she's put online in the first place is concerning enough and that her caretakers are so willing to make ads featuring her. They definitely know who's watching their videos I'm sorry.

Even if the allegations are all false and the children aren’t being mistreated, there is still an important aspect that the children are being exploited. Okay, it’s possible it’s a good intentioned rehabilitation center and tiktok is taking things out of proportion but they are clearly being exploited. Posting children for millions to see is only getting harder to defend but some will still die on that hill 😵💫

Yeah, I've unfortunately done the same thing. When you just come across the videos you never really think about the deeper aspects of it, you just clock in on "Aww, cute kid doing cute things!" so you interact with it. Best thing you can do now is to just not interact with anything that high focuses on kids. Or at least, do not follow the account.

I can't speak to whether there is or isn't any abuse going on in that shelter because I just don't have enough information. However, it is very clear that the women and children who are seeking staying there and seeking help while in a very vulnerable condition _ARE_ being horribly exploited for money. They're in no position to give any kind of informed consent because even if it isn't directly coerced, they are still at risk of being manipulated into consenting when they don't want to (eg out of fear of being thrown out), whether it's done overtly or passive aggressively, eg "we need to do this so we can pay our bills, it'd be a shame if the power was cut off, we wouldn't be able to keep everyone here," or "what took you in, fed h clothes you and took care of your medical bills, you owe us this much," etc. These adults are highly vulnerable & suggestible right now, they can be easily manipulated to do things they don't want to...and even if they do want to they can't necessarily see that they have been manipulated and that there is a power imbalance that exists between them and the shelter owners that means no matter if they want to do it or not they are still being exploited. And, as always, kids can _never_ give consent because they cannot understand the consequences of doing so. On top of that they are all being put in danger. It was already said that Totu's father was a drug user, and I think they said Totu's mother was economically abused? So what's to say that the father isn't also physically and/or emotionally abusive, and by it being plastered all over the Internet where Totu and her mother are living they are being put at risk, the same goes for all the others staying there. We don't know their stories, but usually women & children do not end up living in a shelter because their life has been rainbows and puppies, there _will_ be women there who have been physically & maybe even sexually assaulted by their husbands/partners or their families. Further more, these already vulnerable women & children are being pushed onto the Internet where it's clear there are people with ill intent. Sadly, there are gross people watching kids accounts, we've seen it with the predator playlists and with the fact that people are saving videos of other people's kids...for what purpose? I don't want to know, but I would bet there are many people in that group who have sick intentions. Hell, we saw that document with someone saying they would kidnap Totu, and if that's what they're saying aloud imagine what they're thinking in the privacy of their own heads & even on the dark web. And the world knows where these women and their kids are! Anyone with I'll intent could cause great harm. This shows a reckless & willful endangerment by the people running the shelter its tik tok account. I understand that they may need to raise funds, but there are ways to do that where you can protect people's identities and locations. These people running the account are likely raking in the money and I have very serious doubts that _any_ of it will be seen by the people being exploited...the ones who need it most! I agree with you, there's usually no smoke without fire, whether that's a fire in the chimney or the whole house ablaze remains to be seen, and really that doesn't matter because there is already plenty we can see with our eyes to be outraged about. And that whole "secret signs" bullshit has been driving me nuts for ages now in these kinds of situation, where people lose their minds trying to prove that "wearing this ring on this finger while tapfancing inside down wearing balenciaga means you're a trafficker and groomer" [/hyperbole]. Because of course these people are going to put very obvious "secret" symbolism in their videos. 🙄 People and their conspiracy theories have gone a little off the deep end. When all they really have to do is focus on the facts to have a reason to be outraged, same with family vloggers. I don't care if everyone staying at that shelter was being treated like royalty, they are being still exploited and endangered by having their faces, location and stories put online for the financial gain of the shelter owner.

NEW Rabbit hole unlocked! I was in the foster care system in Los Angeles in the 1980s & I experienced some significant trauma. When the 15 year old told her story, she told the truth. Recently, I've been encouraged to write an autobiography and I started it. I can tell you that she's being truthful bc of the description she's giving of the actual acts perpetrated on her. They're not stereotypical, the details are too descript, far too unique for it to be done hoax. I mean, we live in a day and age where anything is possible but I don't think so. I'd put a substantial amount of money on it. She's telling the truth. I recognize it in my own writing. I'm truthful and due to my rough start, I'm very, very good at reading people. I had to be & I'm telling you, this wasn't some machination of the media. Azerbaijan doesn't even have the free press. Drew Binsky has an excellent travel channel and he actually went there. It gets real weird, real quick homies.😂 Apparently, there are other victims too. 😢

Yes. The testimony from the former child resident holds a lot of weight in terms of my sense of the realities of this shelter. Former residents who felt they benefitted from their stays don't have reason to just make up such unique & detailed horrors. Victim statements, especially from people who are talking about terrible childhood experiences, need to tell their stories, be believed, and have action taken as a result.

Agreed. I was a super clumsy kid and my parents were always panicked with how many skinned knees and bruises I came back with. I always tore a hole in my stockings or ripped open a pair of jeans somehow. Bruises alone aren't enough. You also have to make sure the children aren't coached. This happened to me! Tore my stockings open five minutes before my adoption was finalized while playing in the hallway outside the courtroom. My mother burst into tears and both the judge and social worker remarked how adorable I was and asked if I was enjoying myself. Apparently I replied something along the lines of asking if they had tried sliding down the hallway. It was long and recently carpeted. Fun for sliding on. The adoption went through due to my innocence and want to play. I scared the hell out of my poor mother!
