Baby Yoda's power level isn't entirely unexplained. We know that that species is exceptionally strong with the force, all members of that species we have seen are very powerful force users. Though upon consideration Baby Yoda is overpowered, has no personality (because it's a baby obviously), is instantly liked, does feel like wish fulfilment, so he does have 4 out of 7.

Anakin was established to have much more force potential than Yoda and Yaddle, and he couldn't do what baby Yoda does. And the whole show centers around all sorts of characters putting they life in risk and making sacrifices to protect it , because everyone loves it for no reason, including the audience who hated Rey and the rest of Disney Star Wars, with a few exceptions (like myself) it totally seems like a wish fulfilment self insert character for the folks at Lucasfilms. And they got what they wanted. I don't know mean, I hate to be the woke advocate but in my book it checks all the boxes and is totally a baby Sue. I have being saying this since the second episode and before that woke piece.

@@mellowgeekstudio He just lifted a quasi-rhino, it seems impressive, but Yoda did say in the original trilogy that weight doesn't matter much, so technically anyone who can use the force could lift that quasi-rhino. So that's definitely not more than Anakin or Yoda could do. Luke couldn't do it in the original trilogy, but that's because he couldn't concentrate and abandoned his training.

Is Forrest Gump a Mary Sue? Let's find out: Overpowered: He ran for 3 years, 2 months, 14 days, and 16 hours across America, he became a world ping pong champion from just watching someone play, was part of the All american football team as a running back even earning a college degree in 5 years by playing football, survived the vietnam war even becoming a war hero by carrying 5 people to safety during an ambush and air strike. Even before all that when his legs had braces when he was little, he was able to outrun bullies on bikes. These traits are not that of a ordinary person or even in realistic capability, even compared to other characters in the film. He is clearly overpowered. 1 pt. Unexplained power level: While Gump attributes his achievements as "luck", a lot of his exceptional abilities like his over the top athletic abilities aren't really explained. Sure one might say his determination and single-mindedness is an explanation, but that says nothing about the abilities themselves. It was never really explained why he was physically so much faster than everybody, it was never explain how his body was able to handle running for 3 years nonstop, and etc. Therefore his power level is unexplained in that aspect. So we could say that he has half a point for this section with his "determination" being a saving grace. 1/2 pt. Perfectly good: Forest Gump is portrayed as a good-hearted, wholesome, and "pure" character from the beginning to the end. He is loyal to Jenny even when she didn't display a complete interest in him, he saves a bunch of people during the Vietnam War including his rude Lieutenant, he is sincere and modest and trusting, he apologizes to Jenny when he sees her breasts during a sexual encounter, fulfills his promise to Bubba by buying a boat and starting his own shrimping business, frequently friendly towards the people he encounters at the bus stop. While he does have some moments where he acts violent, these are for protecting Jenny, and do not carry any malice or even lethal intention, so whether they are justified is debatable but the intention is still what one might say "pure". We can say that he is perfectly good for the most part as far as this category is concerned. 1 pt. No personality: If we are being fair, Forrest Gump doesn't have much of an actual personality outside of being a good-hearted but dumb person. 1 pt. Instantly liked by a lot of characters: He is not instantly liked by most of the characters, most of the kids in school weren't fond of him due to his disabilities, love of his life avoided him in many situations, his Lieutenant was not very fond of him at first (though they reconciled later), etc. While there were people who did sort of like him during their first encounter like Bubba, for the most part it is fair to say that he wasn't instantly liked by a lot of the cast. 0 pts. Feels like wish fulfillment: While it would not be fair to say that the entirety of Forrest Gump's character feels like wish fulfillment, there are some aspects that do feel like wish fulfillment. He is depicted as a low-IQ but good-hearted man who achieves extraordinary accomplishments in his life. Despite his intellectual limitations, Forrest Gump becomes a world ping pong champion, excels in football, survives the Vietnam War, and even becomes a war hero. Those instances do make Forrest Gump's character feel like wish fulfillment to a certain extent. 1/2 pt or 1 pt. Not embarrassed/fails in important ways: While he did achieve a lot of things, he also did have a lot of set backs, such as getting rejected at school due to low iq, being bullied, love of his life avoid him, a pretty lonely life, lack of friends, most of the kids not wanting to share a seat with him in the bus, etc. We can say that he does have moments of embarrassments and failures. 0 pts. Therfore, in accordance to the criteria Forrest Gump is at least 57.14% Mary Sue if you see the Wish Fullfillment category as a 1/2 point but 64.29% Mary Sue if you consider the Wish Fulfillment category as a full point. We conclude that he is at least somewhat Sue-ish.

Just because she is the granddaughter of Palpatine does not explain why she was able to use force powers so easily, if that’s true then Luke should have very powerful since the beingining of A new Hope, since he’s the son Anakin Skywalker. Baby yoda is powerful, but he has limits and effects him, Rey doesn’t have limits, really think about that. Baby yoda is a mcguffin, so he doesn’t effect the story. Rey is the main character we should see her grown as a character, but we really don’t, and it ruins the story, she has powers that she doesn’t earn, Palpatine had years of sith training that why he’s powerful and good with a lightsaber and force powers not just because.

Baby yoda is 50 years, it’s possible that Yoda’s species could, since his species is mystery. Rey reading a book that’s thousands of years old wouldn’t make her powerful in a short time, compare to a guy that had years of training years, also Rey barely knows that about the even if it’s dark side powers, she wouldn’t know how to use it.
