It was diabetes that caused the kidney failure, and according the published work, he lived 12 years after transplant, which is still remarkable. Probably 19 years from first diagnosis.

Dudes, Lyta is simply *carrying* Vorlons around. She is a vessel for their consciousness. She literally told you that in this episode. *Kosh* told Sheridan to jump, you heard him loud and clear.

Re: Lyta & the Vorlon- He's not draining her, if you listen again you'll hear her say "Is there anywhere else you need me to carry you?", ie he's using her to move around (a part of him at least); She also said something similar to him back when he first arrived, "He (Kosh) wasn't with me, not even a piece of him" or something like that. Re: Cartagia - the actor, Wortham Krimmer, plays a great madman, he's got the eyes for it & the way he just plays it normal for the most part... Creepy.

The actors said they had a similar sensation as Ed Washer picked at his flakes. G'Kar's transformation didn't start in prison, but rather once he'd had his dust-fueled encounter with Mollari. Lyta had gill implants to allow her to breathe in the Vorlon atmosphere. And those heads... Did you notice the one on the end, Minister Dugarri? That was Andreas Katsulas, aka G'Kar.

Of note; over the previous seasons, they upgraded many if the costumes, including Londo's great coat. They had to film a quick line about his coat being cleaned so he had to wear his old season 1 coat, so that the scene would match Londo's original vision from season 1. 😯

When Ivanova said she'd been there before, she as far as the show has so far shown us has never been to zhadum. However she has visited the great machine. Events being kinda circular in the B5 universe does zhadum have the same technology the great machine uses, hence why the familiarity?

Yes. Stephen Furst did lose weight on advice from his doctor as he was suffering from diabetes. And no, he did not die from cancer. He died from his diabetes.

A little bit of positivity from his passing: He took his disbetes serioudly because both of his parents died from it in their 40s, and he was determined to outlive that. While age 63 is still too early by today's standards, he definitively achieved that goal.

Here's my take on TKO and why it's more important than many think. Walker Smith showed the other races that humans can have honor and courage. If he hadn't done that in such a public forum, would Sheridan have been able to get the other races to work together without much more trouble if at all? As G'Kar told Ta'Lon, the humans became the key to hold the other races together. Walker Smith showed the other races the courage that lies dormant in the heart of humanity.

Possible spoilers: Unlike the rest of the Vorlons Kosh actually cared about the younger races, in his own vorlon way. The other Vorlons actually considered Kosh to be a weirdo because of it since most of them only see the younger races as tools for their war.

7:35 - funny note from Ray Because he is in pain but as a servant of the shadows he is no stranger to it Note the thing covering him, it is the same as after Delenns transformation, makes one wonder how much of Morden was left Funny think about Morden and Sheridan, it's not plot armor as this is well written as you will learn in the next episode 10:43 - What truly changed G'kar was his scampering through Londos mind while he was hopped up on super dust and Kosh giving him guidance G'kar reflected on it by writing it down Also the Vorlon eye beam thing with Lyta is what Kosh did with Sheridan, they can partially or entirely go into other creatures It's why Dwayne asked Lyta if there were pieces of Kosh anywhere

Babylon 5, the Search for Kosh. Morden’s skin was not the same as Delenn’s. She seemed to covered in a hard shell, presumably to protect her new skin, etc. until it was ready to come off. Morden is cooked. He’s covered in black burns and his charred skin is peeling off. Even very far away in the tunnels, the heat and radiation would penetrate solid stone. JMS had once addressed that the makeup was very different, but was mostly obscured by darkness. As for changes, Morden is for now, a bit crazy, probably from his brain being served medium rare and by seeing his grand plans so thoroughly derailed by overconfidence.

One of my favourite bits of the show (after many rewatches) has been seeing the throw always mean something. Specific to the Vorlons is the merging with other species so they can be carried around. Remember the cult with the Vendrizi merging with their spines? Remember Sheridan taking his Starfury out so the creature he was carrying could go home? All foreshadowing and world building that pays off.

Refa and his people arranged for Cartagia to take the throne because he thought he could control him. If Londo hadn't arranged for his death, I'd say his head would probably have been on the table too eventually.

And so it begins… …the fiery culmination of three seasons of plot building, festooned with some of the best moments of long-form storytelling ever put on television. And some of the most memorable lines ever spoken. Season 4 of Babylon 5 is what Game of Thrones wanted to be in the end but failed to achieve. Don’t get me wrong, I rather enjoyed what they tried to do at the end of GOT but it didn’t live up to expectations. B5’s S4, though? This is the payoff season.

The disease from Game of Thrones you referenced is called Greyscale due to the appearance of the infected areas. Morden had radiation exposure due to the nuclear blasts of Sheridan's nukes. Morden should be dead. But apparently the Shadows have technology to deal with Radiation sickness. Kosh was more gentle about "pulling out" his essence from Lyta's body. Dwayne sees her as nothing but a tool. No consideration about her discomfort whatsoever. That's why she looks a bit haggard after Dwayne is done with her carrying a piece of him inside her. Lyta saw herself as a partner to Kosh. But she probably feels like a slave to Kosh's replacement. 😢 "Who was that"...To Be Determined. Stay tuned for next episode. Same Shadow Time...Same Shadow Channel. 😂

Stephen Furst had Diabetes and lost weight because of that. He went on a diet. Man, he was such a nice guy - I met him on a convention in Cologne where I worked as a helper. It was a really small con, but Stephen was there, Jerry Doyle, Jerry Hardin ("Deep Throat" on X-Files) as well as the German voices of Mulder and Scully. One evening we Helpers sat in the hotel bar and Stephen came and sat with us and had a chat about this and that and was just a kind and humble person all over. Jerry Doyle, at the same time, sat at the bar and was showing card tricks to the bartender. HE certainly didn't have such a nice time on that con. For once it seems even he was not expecting the difference in alcohol between beer he was used to and the local "Kölsch". (he was an alcoholic, as we later learned). But even with a pretty strong hangover he went jogging the next morning. And some years later I learned he was mugged while doing so... Never mentioned it on the con, but later would tell the story. Sadly the guy who organized the con was a con person himself, but in another way: He vanished with all the money and the actors weren't paid. :/

Yes season 4 is one of the best seasons of Babylon 5. Season 5 isn’t as spectacular as season 4 yes but it’s still a good season. (Just not as good as season 4 was 🤣) Glad y’all are enjoying the show. We’re waiting for you beyond the Rim (those that have seen it before) 👍

In the novels, Morden was saved from the Whitestar's detonation kamikaze thing by the Technomage Galen who wrapped him in layers and layers of the same bio skin that comprises the hull of Shadow ships (he still got burned tho). That's why he's still alive

By the way, are you guys planning to watch the Babylon 5 movie 'Thirdspace' ? 10:51 - hopefully jail also changed G'Kar's singing voice. 14:50 - If Vir gets involved, maybe Vir will now be important enough to kill? 15:10 - those are his 'head' advisors

The original plan for Babylon 5 was for it to span 5 seasons (hence the name of the show!), but by season 4 the show's host network was melting down and it really looked like it wouldn't get to season 5. JMS decided to basically compress the plots for Season 4 and 5 into a single season, so they could at least wrap up the story in a satisfying way. Whilst the network did go under, Babylon 5 did find a new home at the last minute so it did get a Season 5 after all, but it's going to be a very different season from what was originally intended.
