I'm 30 years old and dying of lung and liver cancer. I have never smoked nor was I ever an alcoholic and I still got cancer. I appreciate so much that I've watched Babylon 5 in my lifetime. JMS did a fantastic work and I'm so thankful for the time I've spent watching B5. Please everyone, use the very moment and live and enjoy your life every day. Carpe diem. Memento mori. Buddha also said live life in the moment. Tik. Tok. Please don't waste your lives. EDIT: It's been eight months since that post. I am still alive thanks to experimental tablets that are specifically designed to inhibit and destroy my genetic ALK-lung cancer. I will never get rid of the cancer, since it's genetic, but I will still be able to live some more time, hopefully some years. Isn't it odd how much my situation mirrors Sheridan's life, knowing that he's got exactly 20 years left to live? My original message still stands, have a great and wonderful day and live in the moment. Enjoy the simple things of life and you will never be unhappy.

Thx for sharing your story. We all have to face death at some point. I am glad you have some more time and i wish you many happy moments and memories ❤. I have a health situation myself i have to manoeuvre the rest of my days. It is easy to succumb to emotions and let them controll us, but we all have a choice. There are so much beauty, if you look close and pay attention! To phrase Joel from the last of us (I struggled for a long time with survivin'. And you- No matter what, you keep finding something to fight for).

Lorien is like the Grandfather who has spoken to the grandchildren about the hassle and disagreement between the children of the elder generation. It's not unlike what we experience as humans-- the grandchildren are often recipients of compassion and understanding. Grandchildren are like the "Prize." My daughter is like that with my parents. She is given much more leeway and forgiveness than I ever was!

@@zhollamychalis4252 I honestly thought the idea of Jack the Ripper being pulled from Earth because his motivations were purely in reaction to the social injustices being committed to the lower class of London. While what he chose to do was horrific, it was still acting to make change. Which was why he was the perfect person to test Delenn and Sheridan. To see if they were willing to do Anything to get the job done. Wayne performed that perfectly. It should be noted: Sheridan proved he was willing to make the dark choice when he sacrificed a White Star and her crew to save a planet.

@@bill5974 I can't agree with you, if a show like B5 was made today it would probably be garbage. Picard and Discovery come to mind its also one of the reasons I hope Stargate isn't rebooted. I can only think of one recent Sci fi show made recently that was good and that was the Expanse and I'm 2 seasons behind on that but have heard worrying things about the last 2 seasons (sjw overtones) Also as much as I enjoyed BSG when it first aired I personally found it hadn't aged that well when rewatching it for only the second time this year. But that's just me I know plenty who have watched it a lot more than me and enjoy it more everytime. Rewatched B5 also this year and it still blew me away and I had very little problems with the pacing.

What blew my mind when I saw this episode back in the 90's is when I read the credits. I was curious who played Lorien because his voice and mannerisms seemed so familiar for some reason. When I saw it was Wayne Alexander, I turned to my friend and said: "Wait a minute. Didn't he play Sebastian/Jack-the-Ripper in that 'Inquisitor' episode?" That was more of a euphemism than truth. Vorlons are not immortal, but they are allowed to live VERY VERY long. Kosh, at this time, was a very old one by Vorlon standards. Lorien notes that when he met him, Kosh was young. Just goes to show... It wasn't always Vorlons versus Shadows. This is a 'recent' thing. Lorien must've met Kosh back when the First Ones were still socializing, before they departed.

I like how by this point there was so much to do that major plot points are happening as the opening credits are rolling. This season's pacing was the best that TV has ever created. I don't know if JMS realizes this but by Warner canceling B5 it was the same as the Shadows kicking over termite mounds to see what grows back stronger. The sheer chaos resulted in ultimate syncretization.

Stuff like this is why I'm not a fan of the idea of a reboot. The series had (mostly) great writing, but what really made it was the actors and how they owned their characters and the chemistry they all had between them. I always considered Doctor Franklin the weakest in terms of presence in the show ( not the actors fault ) but even he had fantastic moments and interactions. I have major doubts a reboot could recapture that

Lorien has been in that pit for a Million years. Kosh is therefore at least a million years old. You are correct it is implied Z'ha'dum was bombed at the end of Valen's war in the novels - but no one met Lorien. A million years ago is when the First Ones stopped fighting between themselves for the most part, Lorien's race left for the Rim, and the First Ones started to focus on the humanoids. In the Shadow War 10,000 years ago the majority of First one's left for the Rim and the first humanoids were space faring. Valen's War 1000 years ago was when the Vorlons and Shadows really started using the younger races as an excuse to snipe at each other until the Babylon 5 war where they decided to wipe the other side out.
