"Each song that I've listened to so far sounds very different...." -> Get used to it :D. There's always that part that reminds you this is BABYMETAL, but they are masters of finding new ways to please the ears :).
@Grington3004 жыл бұрын
Good reaction - and you're right, nearly every song is different, you will have to try hard to find the very few songs that may be similar to another one they've done. Definitely one of the most innovative and entertaining bands you will find .. and yes unique. Karate is about fighting against adversity, getting up when you've been knocked down, you're crying and it all seems too hard. Helping each other through to always move ahead. The figures in white were the girls (did you see the reflections in the eyes after the masks shattered?) and they had been conjuring up their own inner demons to fight. They used karate to illustrate the meaning even more as it is a Japanese martial art with no backward moves. They watched a lot of martial art movies to try to make the moves in the choreo as authentic as they could ... Moa catching the fly was a nod to The Karate Kid. Another very good song for you to see would be 'Megitsune' ... but there are so many more I could recommend as well. Keep them coming.

Babymetal songs are very different from each other. They really like to explore the boundaries of what metal is, and do a lot of fusing of genres. They are all about dichotomy. Light and dark; brutal and cute. Their constant theme is duality. In many respects they are prog metal without the wild time signatures (usually).

I would venture to say it is about any adversity that is particularly difficult, but your inner demons are the hardest to defeat. I think that is why you see the progression in the video. The first guy gets taken out easily, the second adversary hits them hard and knocks them down, but they help each other back up and stick together and, in the end, are able to defeat their own inner demons (being them in the white costumes) because they supported each other through it.

Death - from their Legend 1997 concerts. 1997 is the birth year of Su-Metal, their lead singer. Normally they open their shows with this song but on this occasion, it was done in celebration to her 16th birthday.

I agree. I think it’s good to be able to give unknown bands a chance. I’m glad I gave this band a chance ... In fact Japan has some magic going because BABYMETAL, Band Maid and Lovebites are being played the most in my playlist. Lovebites especially...those girls hit hard.
@mr.osclasses50544 жыл бұрын
Funny to think BABYMETAL was formed to try to bring metal music out from the basements and super small venues and back into mainstream listening, almost like a stepping stone to straight up heavy metal, and it not only worked but made them and other groups/bands known all over the world. I don't know if they opened the door for Band Maid and Lovebites, but I'd like to think they did!

Megitsune by Babymetal next? You may need to pause it a few times or watch a live version though because it got blocked on some other channels. My favourite Babymetal song, and pronounced "Meh-gi-tsu-nay". Oh and they have a song that's Metal, Rap, and Electronic! It's called "iine" (eeneh) and is one of their most experimental tracks. I recommend you to check out BABYMETAL - Ijime,Dame,Zettai - Live at Sonisphere 2014,UK (OFFICIAL) This was their 1st tour outside of Japan It's the 1st time that they've played on such a big stage outside of Japan, BABYMETAL was supposed to play on a side-stage but, due to growing interest and having unexpectedly blown up on KZbin recently, they were rescheduled to open the main stage. Almost no one knew them in the crowd they were all waiting for the big bands like Ghost,deftones Iron maiden etc. They were quite nervous since It was their 1st time playing in front of such a big crowd in the west and at the age of 14-16. Sure, there is no comparison to their Japanese concerts like Budokan Night but you get a sight of how they were received for the 1st time in a big European metal festival

You will learn with BabyMetal it's down the Foxhole, not rabbit hole.🦊They are brought to us by the fox god. Kitsune means fox that's why they do their hand that way, pay attention to their hand you will see the pointed nose and the ears of a fox. It's not the traditional metal Satan horns. Your journey down the fox hole needs to be Megitsune ( female fox) pronounced: Meh-git-su-ney "Megitsune- live at makuhari messe" like the headbanger show. The crowd in nuts!!!!

If there was ever a genre of music that desperately needed to get kicked in the nards and dragged kicking and screaming out of it's comfort zone, it was Heavy Metal. Bless their crinoline skirts.
@mr.osclasses50544 жыл бұрын
Another great reaction! You have a lot of suggestions here, so I'll put them together in a list for you and give some (hopefully) helpful ideas for viewing: "Megitsune" - First, it is pronounced "Meg-it-sue-nay". The music video is awesome, but so is the live version. "Road of Resistance" Live in Japan - This one is difficult because many reactors have had it blocked over the last couple months, so make sure you pause it a good amount and give your thoughts during the pauses to try and avoid it. "Rondo of Nightmare" with Mischiefs of God Intro - Just search it and that's the right one, most likely. It is a Su (lead singer) solo, but incredible, and the intro makes you appreciate the Kami Band that much more! "Distortion" - Really good song (it's actually the song that got me into BABYMETAL a few months back). The video is odd because it doesn't have the girls in it, but the live version from Download 2018 is awesome. Fair warning, this is during a rough year when Yui was out for illness or injury and would outright leave the band from it later that year, so it's Su and Moa with extra dancers. "Death" Legend 1997 - You want to see how hardcore these girls get? Watch this video! I won't give anything away, but it's sick and #notacult! Since there is a Su solo in there, I will toss out a couple songs that are just Yui and Moa, aka "Black BABYMETAL". The first is Sis. Anger, and the other is "Onedari Daisakusen".
