BABYMETAL | Time Wave | Corrupted Files Reactions

There's something I call the BABYMETAL effect, it's when you hear a song from them you don't really get into because you're enamored with an earlier song, but then you hear the new song a couple more times and now it's a new favorite. Has that happened to anyone here? 🤘🦊🤘

Yes, I know exactly what you mean! It has happened to me with a few songs. This is unfortunately the first BABYMETAL song I find difficult to listen to. I like everything, some parts I really like, but my soul twists when I hear "I had a bad dream all night long and it is oooover". It feels like I'm listening to some modern American pop singer with their typical theme of self pity. I will try my best to disassociate it from bad memories of American pop culture. I guess it was only a matter of time before they mixed in some of that considering all the different influences they use.

This can happen for sure✅ Right when I started listening to them I was convinced (for like a day) that I didn't like megitsune because I started with road of resistance and no rain no rainbow 🤘

@@corruptedfiles1989 Yep, that sounds typical. I find that once I started to get used to a new song I began thinking less about how different the song sounds and more about how Babymetal it does sound, after that, I begin to like the song much more, then a new song comes out and the whole thing starts all over again. 🤘🦊🤘

@@schneider1112 that's fair, I stop listening to American pop music along time ago, in fact, I think that's why I have yet to find any K-pop music to my liking at all, it just sounds too much like American pop music.

Everyone was looking for heavier tracks like Mirror Mirror, MAYA or Believing, me i was looking for this, i love progressive trance and this edm mix is so good. They already got time travelling theme in songs like Awadama Fever, kinda, but this one is more like a challenge rather than just having fun, and also got the connection with this metalverse. @@corruptedfiles1989 Since you like songs more mellow like No Rain No Rainbow or even one of Suzuka's song like Sakurairo No Avenue, i was expecting for you to like this song right of the bat, but is all good, some songs need to grown up on you in time. Cheers and keep having fun.🦊🤘🍻

After a few times listening this song became my favourite from the new album before Monochrome. But now after hearing the live version of Monochrome is Monochrome on top again.

I love Metalizm from the new album after all, but at last the fever has calmed down a bit. So instead of it, I've been listening to this song over and over again recently. I have a habit of listening to all my favourite songs over and over again, and in BM, Gimme Choco! was the first one. And YAVA, Kagero, Brand New Day.., too... First of all, I like the song title because it's cool. The lyrics are cool too. As for the arrangement, the song starts like 'Video killed the Radio Star' to me, but I don't care about that, ha. It's a kind like thrilling. Thank you from Japan!

Nice! I binge my favourites to. But for me was largely akatsuki, no rain no rainbow, ROR, IDZ and anything kinda power metal 😂🤘

@@corruptedfiles1989 They are great songs, but fast tempo songs are not good a bit to me..😅 But BM has helped me get used to those type of songs, haha. Oh, I have forgotten another my favorites, 'Headbangeeeeerrrrr', and 'Onedari Daisakusen'!

Great reaction. I was with you - I heard the snippets of the songs they released in advance of the album and I was not at all optimistic for this one for the same sort of reasons it didn't hit you immediately. Once I'd heard the song, no it may still not be my favourite, but I came to the conclusion the snippets misled me. Having listened to the album "several" times now I really like 'Time Wave' ... it is not my usual thing, it is not the sort or style of music I would seek out to listen to - and I have no idea how BABYMETAL can do this to me every time.🦊

Thanks! I agree. Stylistically, It's not 100% the genre of song I'd typically listen to ... But, I have definitely enjoyed some re-listens this week at work ✅ 🤘🔥

Great reaction, thanks! I agree 100%. But... I've learned one thing about BABYMETAL in these years: to always wait until listening to the live version to make a final decision about every song. Not my favorite music style either but I'm not unfamiliar with EDM anyway. So I better wait. 😁 Until next time! 🤘🦊
