You're too young to babysit... In fact you need a babysitter. In my State it's illegal for a child your age to be home alone! However if you're not out of diapers at your age that should be illegal too!

Check out our video on How to Stay Safe In Emergencies - I think it might help! If there is a break-in, call 9-1-1 and always cooperate with the thief. Don't try to fight back or get a weapon. If there is an earthquake, stay calm. If outside, stay in an open area away from buildings, trees, and power lines. If you are inside, take cover under a sturdy desk or table. Hold onto it and be prepared to move with it. Be prepared for additional earthquakes, called aftershocks. Stay in your area until the shaking stops.

I started babysitting my (then one and a half year old) niece when I was 10 but now I have my own baby

Tip: instead of taking by the diaper out from underneath them and then putting the new one there, put the new diaper underneath them with the old diaper on. So when you take the old diaper off of them they already have the new one underneath them. (Prevents them from peeing everywhere)

Broken bones are serious. If you suspect a child has a broken bone, do not move the child. You can suspect a broken bone if the child falls and has any of the following: won’t stop crying, won’t use injured part, or obvious swelling or deformity. A broken bone should not be moved until it has been splinted. Call 9-1-1 if there is obvious swelling or deformity with a break in the skin or if the area below the injured part is cold or blue. Call a back-up adult to help evaluate for possible broken bone if you aren’t sure what to do.

Hello babysitter boss so I have a few questions 1. How do you know if you are hurting a child when you are pulling their legs up to put a clean diaper underneath them. 2. How do you know if you are pulling and sticking the adhesive too tightly on a baby. 3. When you need to go to the bathroom and you are babysitting and infant where do you take or put the infant?

You want to be gentle with infants. Infants cry to communicate and will let you know if something hurts. Diapers will stretch when the infant is wearing it, so pull tight and don't worry about it being too tight. It has elastic to help it naturally give and be more comfortable. If you need to use the bathroom when babysitting an infant, place the infant in the crib or a pack-and-play so that the infant is safe and secure when you are in the bathroom. A lot of injuries happen in the bathroom, so it's best to put the infant in a safe place.

Easton May we actually recommend using gloves if they are available. But most parents don’t glove up to change multiple diapers a day, so we realize they might not have them available for you. Gloves or no gloves, the key is to wash your hands!!! Thanks for commenting!

What do you do if the child you are watching get a fever or starts not feeling well?

If the child's forehead feels hot to touch, child is sweating or shivering, child complains of feeling sick, or child looks sick, call a back-up adult for help. Don't take the child's temperature unless the back-up adult asks you to. If the child is hot from being in the sun or exercising in the heat, get the child to a cooler, shaded area to rest and give the child water. I hope this helps!

Older children will be fine on their own while you use the bathroom. You can always put an infant or toddler in a pack and play or in their crib to make sure they are safe.

the best thing is to maybe ask your parents if they have friends who have babies that you could babysit for them, you could also ask your neighbor about it if they have any kids. theres also on facebook a lot of babysitting groups but you have to check if your neighborhood is there or you could also put some flyers up around your neighborhood
