I always felt sorry for Moms who cleaned up after their kid/s. I also feel sorry for wives who clean up after their husbands. I taught my son to clean up after himself, and made it clear to any man who wanted me in his life that housework was a “we” thing, not a “me” thing.

@@AlbertaRose94 I try so hard to put my foot down on this subject. I have even gone on “strike” but i doesn’t stress anyone else out like it does me. I really resonated with the “my older ones just watch screens”- I have two older kids and one 2 almost 3 year old and even though I hate them watching screens so much I absolutely get nothing done when my toddler is around. The other two will be golden for some screen time but my toddler would rather destroy the house constantly then watch one of her four shows she has deemed worthy of her attention. I know it’s great she is so busy but I get very little done and it’s exhausting. 🤣

Remember though when we were 2-3 and it was still the 80s and the only "screen" we had was the TV? I recently realized I basically blacked out my kids early years and especially infancy. Mine are 7 now and we watched our neighbors newborn, like fresh fresh baby because her husband got in a car accident and we had that thing for like 3 days and WOW! I thought one would barely be noticeable because I had already done it with two at once. Not all babies are built the same, and if you don't have two you can't lay them next to each other and make them hug to get them to stop screaming. Sometimes a certain baby just has zero chill. God saw fit to humble me with the experience. Lol

@@booksandtea1989 I am suspicious I don't actually like children other than mine and I DEFINITELY don't like babies. I didn't like my kids until they were well over a year. I distinctly remember feeling like a God awful person for hating every second of the infant stage even though they were relatively chill babies. It's just so stressful. Babies are soooooo fragile and it takes so long for them to crisp up. I'm glad I got two at once. I don't think I'd have been pregnant and done the infant stage again. It simply was not for me, lol.

That "isn't crying and no broken bones" thing reminds me of a story my mother used to tell about me when I was like a year and a half. Two, tops. There's this picture of me reaching up to pet/poke at/somehow otherwise annoy the cat, who has his paw drawn back to smack at me. Apparently mom's response was "If he smacks you, I don't wanna hear about it unless you're bleeding" and then taking the picture. Disclaimer: The aforementioned cat almost never did anything like that and even when he did, he never used his claws. You looked up "mellow" in the dictionary and you'd find his picture.

What a darling kid! I have two granddaughters and I love visiting them. But every time they leave our house (or when we leave theirs) we both breath a huge sigh of relief. I loved being a Mom--it was my entire life for a very long time. But OMG! Those girls are a lot! They're well-behaved because their parents are doing a great job. But they never stop moving. LOL.

Lies! That kiddo was completely clothed the whole time! If you don't have to run behind them saying "put your pants on!" are you even toddlering? :-p

Now imagine this when everything was online except that literally every room in the house was taken by someone in a screen except for one bedroom where all the toys were and the littlest was not interested in them. I would sit on the stairs with my head in my hands trying to maintain my sanity.

While the main feature put a smile on my face, I loved the outtakes of the little boy picking up the papers he just threw on the ground. So sweet.

I had five kids under 4 (some were foster care) when I was 32. Now one kid under 8 is stressful! I want to know how you got him to do anything on cue?!
