​@pvtparts6043 Well, remember Cloud and Aerith are linked by his feelings being linked to Zack's memories and Aerith seeing Zack inside of Cloud and then learning the true cloud is even more amazing of a person. Their actual romance is actually superficial but Aerith develops true feelings while Cloud is still not himself yet. Everything (clouded mind) cloud and (real) cloud feel for Tifa is all based on him and him alone with even the "Zack" aspects liking Tifa. Aerith never gets to meet the true Cloud in FF7, but she senses him. It's just the (real) cloud never meets Aerith because she's gone by the time he awakens. Which is during/following the end of Advent Children truthfully. But I really like the complexity of that for this story. It actually links up with real amnesia patients' own stories, too. Falling for someone else while they're not fully back, and sometimes seeing their true love... being what forces them to get their memories. It doesn't make Aerith any less loving Cloud. She just doesn't get to meet the true man.

@@unbothered5240 Aerith most likely did have to accept the friendzone conditions. I mean it is proven that if she dies, Tifa would belong to Cloud. Even if Tifa and Cloud were dating at the time Aerith was alive, Aerith still accepted being in a friendzone. Aerith most likely knew that Cloud likes Tifa and Aerith was just there to playfully tease Cloud in a flirting way to annoy Tifa. At the end of the day, regardless if Cloud had past experience dating Aerith at Gold Saucer, Aerith will still belong to Zack. When Aerith, took interest in Cloud was meant for her to replace Zack since Cloud shared some same traits as Zack. Tifa may have Cloud as love interest due to childhood friendship but Aerith is more like rebound. Difference is if Aerith and Cloud go on a date with each other, it will be a sexless relationship. Aerith would still keep her virginity. So far, Aerith never even once kissed Zack when Zack was still alive. So in the lifestream, Aerith did provide Cloud support while being dead and right in front of Zack in Advent Children.

As a young teen she was a shallow, attention seeker who took the oportunity, that Cloud wanting to be a soldier, a hero. Knowing that as a Hero he would be known world wide, she would het attention. So she manipulated Cloud in promissing him, to rescue her, so that every girl can envy her. Cloud for no reason is keeping his cool soldier persona around Tifa while with Aerith he is more relaxed and can be himself, since Aerith dont give him the pressure into being something else. Maturity isn't necessarily stoicism, It's more so understanding and realism. Thing about Tifa and Cloud is that they sometimes seem awkward when alone, on the other hand there isn't a dull moment when Aerith and cloud are together. The only things turning me off from that pairing is Zack and Aerith's death.

I've seen the other "dates" and realize that what happens during those dates (mainly in the sky wheel ride) go over specific issues where the one Cloud goes with reveals a topic they normally wouldn't talk about. And each of those admissions regard canon issues. Nanaki admits that he and Aerith saw future visions which they no longer have. Yuffie admits she has/had a crush on a SOLDIER (Zack) but she doesn't know his name. We know its Zack because she said how she met him and how he went easy on her when he was invading Fort Tamblin. The guys just grumble because it's 4 dudes. Vincent doesn't know everyone that well yet so he snoozes, Cid is grumblin', Cait is trying to get everyone to relax and have fun, and Cloud's annoyed by the other two and takes it out a bit on Cait because as the one that matters in the choice, He regreats not taking someone else like one of the girls. Aerith is still trying to see if she can make it work with Cloud, but he's not leaning into her efforts. He's not being a jerk, but he's making it clear that he's not interested in that way. And Barret is like that rough0edge uncle. Telling him to quit waiting for the chance to come and risk letting it slip by. To quit "dilly-dallying" and figure out who that special someone is and never let them go. He never tells him who it should be, just that he needs to make up his mind. Personally, aside from Tifa, My favorite date scene in the Skywheel has to be with Yuffie. Cloud is such a big brother figure to her and it really shows there. the mock fighting they do is adorable.

Hmmm, I think there's a strong argument to be made that Aerith cannot separate her feelings for Cloud from her feelings for Zack. That's kinda what her main arc is for Rebirth, she even sings a song about it. During the Sector 5 'dream date,' she says 'there's a difference between liking and _liking.'_ This isn't to say the two don't care about each other, but I think even Aerith is questioning if that caring can be called romantic love. I hope she and Zack get a wonderful reunion in part 3

Tbf in the OG we didn’t know TOO much of Zack so the Clerith was what we had. It wasn’t until Crisis Core that we finally see Zerith happen (me cry sobbing at the final battle for Zack) I will say I’m really happy that the remakes are fleshing all these characters out that I find them all endearing. ((I can’t believe they made me like Jessie in Remake))

I love how their relationship throughout remake and rebirth onwards not only helps them catch up on lost time, but feels like it fleshes it out and makes it have its ups and downs. Tifa more sociable and trying to get cloud to open up, cloud hard to process but trying to be more social and showing he's more than the hardass he appears, especially due to his mind being so fractured. there is trauma on both parts, awkwardness and a desire for communication like any normal relationship. unlike Aerith (note: I like her, but I prefer her and zack since they had far more chemestry), I couldn't take her and cloud as serious due to a part of her still not over zack and cloud not in the right state of mind. Even more is not only did she double down on Cloud after nearly dying, which she would have every right to be angry over, but she knows cloud would NEVER do such a thing of his own free will. I was so happy they actually got a kiss. if they gave the two something like that, I can't wait till part 3 comes around.

Cloud lost his mind due to mako poisoning. That made him not know who he was. He remembers things about Tifa from five years ago but isn't sure about it. He denies himself and claims that he is also a soldier like Zack. That's why Aerith has the opportunity to seduce Cloud. Aerith sometimes encourages Tifa and Cloud. She was a bit selfish before she died. But I think part 3 will have a happy ending for Cloud-Tifa and Zack-Aerith.

Aerith was prepared to leave Cloud's group. Aerith's way is helping herself move on knowing that she won't be the #1 choice for the romance. Even if she had experienced dating Cloud at Gold Saucer, it will still lead to sexless dating regardless. So this act does end the love triangle so then by default, Tifa is Cloud's romance choice.

I take it you are talking about the OG. If you say Cloud and Aerith date reel random, that is because the affinity system is build where Aerith started out with the highest affinity for Cloud. So lets pretend you wanted to date Tifa. It will be about effort and what kind of actions you took. Suppose you are nice to all the party members, Aerith will definitely be your date. Those that were successful on getting Tifa to date Cloud is because those players were mean to Aerith. Dialogue shown counts too. So good example. If Aerith say to Cloud do you remember me. Instead of saying she sold flowers in the streets, you call her slum drunk. Or about about when Aerith talks about her lover Zack. Don't compete for Aerith's attention. Aerith wanted Cloud to be jealous. So by being meaner to Aerith, then that is how you friendzone Aerith and then Tifa will become your date. Even players that wins a date with Tifa knows that they cannot let their guard down by being nice to everybody. Otherwise, those who assume Tifa start out with highest affinity will end up dating a wrong person which is Aerith. Dating Tifa would mean you cannot take the affinity system lightly. It is about effort.

The development of this relationship is way faster than what was in the og and I'm honestly surprised that the gongaga scene after what cloud did Tifa despite all of this called him a hero and vowed to be there for him. The gondola part is ultimately optional as things stand but her being the only girl cloud with his jumbled mind of his still have enough of him inside to get the courage and confirm that he has similar Feelings like Tifa for him. The others didn't get such thing out of it. Ultimately it falls to part 3 the part where tifa's role is accentuated with the lifestream stuff in restoring cloud and under the highwing scene.

Great ending scince, it really made it to my heart, with all the effect, we waited years for the interaction of romance of this couble, using this long script and all this emotional confusions , and those special fire works effect, and that polygon show, with choosing the perfect place after setting the stage to it, indeed the auther really did , build theb story on this since to crown the relationship of the two, i really think they deserves this, even as fictional charecter both had suffered alot.
