Np. Send me an email so I can reply with photos. The motor is on top. I used plywood but it would have been better on hardwood. Plywood sagged overtime and I propped 2x4s to straighten the plywood and that allowed me to tighten the belt. Ill send some pics once I get your email.

McMaster - Carr has both belts and pulleys. Welded wire is fine for applications such as sifting compost and wood chips, or soil with small rocks (small being no more than 2" diameter). In the video he is running soil with rocks much bigger. Welded cloth is going to come at a serious price.

Very nice. Can you tilt the plywood base for the motor so rain runs off? Auto parts stores have spray tar undercoating which people use to waterproof plywood bottoms on trailers, and that would keep the rain off as well.

Thx. It's very humid around here. I think the plywood would always bow regardless of treatment due to the weight and moisture in the air or rain. It's still in good shape after 3 years.

After using the it , have you replaced the mesh with something heavier gauge? Great design, most have motor under unit with a cover. I prefer your design. It’s a nice piece of work. Well done sir, well done

I haven't used it since 2019. I went through a pile and the mesh started to come apart but haven't used it. I was told there's a better product but forgot the name. It's not welded wire, I believe is called wire rope. It's still parked. I ended up flattening the dirt pile and adding more. Keeping it around case I need to it again.

@@bacalhausark6356 thanks for answering. I’ll most likely use many of your design features if I attempt a trommel. Your video was extremely helpful, thank you and good luck on future engineering marvels 😁👍

I found a random 120v motor on craigslist. It's a 1/3hp electric motor from 1930, paid $20. But you can buy a newer electric motor probably off of azon or eBay. Hope this helps.

Nice project. Your Wire Mesh is breaking because You use a welded netting rather than a wire cloth (a woven netting). A woven netting will be much more durable.

Thanks! I am building a trommel & have already purchased the welded wire (it was not cheap!). When I have to replace it, as you suggested , I will use the woven stuff. This is the 1st time in all the KZbin videos that this was mentioned! THANK YOU!!
