Very beautifully played. I love learning these pieces from your book. These videos are as inspirational as the are helpful. Cheers, Brian

Breathtakingly beautiful, this takes me to a heavenly place. Thank you Mr. Yates. I'm delighted to be taking lessons from one of your students, Alex Rockwell, who carries on the legacy. And your work certainly inspires me to be better and practice more! Warm wishes from Detroit, Michigan!

one of the best on YT. -and the fact that this wonderful and masterful performance has only received a few views is proof of the intentional positioning of YT videos, not that it matters.

I learned to play this piece for Stanley's book and cd. I love the transcription in C major as opposed to D major that most do. D major makes sense because it is a 5th above the original G major, but the C major on a guitar gives it a deeper, haunting feel that I love.

The transcendent beauty of this piece is apparent whether it's played in C ma or D ma, and I think the only reason it has become so popular in D ma is because of the Segovia/Ponce arrangement of the prelude and the Duarte arrangement of the whole suite were both in D ma and made when the modern "standard rep" was just coming together.

Exactly as I saw him performing at UFRGS in Porto Alegre/Brazil some 5 years ago: brilliant.

Wow this is way easier to play than the transcription Christopher Parkening has on his book. Mmmm.. Does anyone know if this is Yates own transcription?
