Гленн Гульд = Бах! Бах = Гленн Гульд. Как только я слышу "Гленн Гульд", на ум сразу приходит Бах. И наоборот. Хотя Гульд играл произведения и других композиторов, но его Бах это нечто вне времени.

Rosalyn Tureck and Gould are very different in approach to Bach.
@twolegsnotail4 жыл бұрын
@@canman5060 I don't wish to enter into an argument with you but Dr Aub is correct. Glenn Gould credited Rosalyn Tureck for her approach to playing Bach on piano as having influenced his own. He also credited Artur Schnabel for his own approach to Beethoven. Gould stated these facts in published interviews which are easily verified. Gould wasn't "sui generis" and he knew it, he was utterly brilliant and he knew that as well. So do we.
@phoebelinden96024 жыл бұрын
@@canman5060 yes, Turek and Gould are different and this is what's wonderful about Gould: he doesn't aim to imitate the influencer. Instead, he takes the spirit of the influence -- Turek's fresh clean approach -- and makes from it something entirely his own.

I would dearly love to hear the complete recording of his practice session of this partita in his country house, parts of which were caught on film for the documentary "GG off the record". What a shame they allowed the narration to be dubbed over the music. What the hell were they thinking?!!
@madaboutvoice4 жыл бұрын
@Raden Laksmana Surprised you can't hear it. Granted, it is not loud, but the sinfonia has plenty of humming at the start, the courante, sarabande and the rondeaux too. You need headphones with decent bass reproduction. It nothing like the singing in the documentary, though :-)
@phoebelinden96024 жыл бұрын
@im dead Regarding Gould's humming: If you want to hear his humming, I have found it's better to use a semi-cheap bluetooth speaker like a Tri-bit (about $40 - 60). The more expensive speakers and headphones filter out the humming.

it's so upsetting, when the ads are ads of people like "Lauren Gray" or whomever, that make things cannot be dignified as music, and then you hear this! This, oh how can one compare the two?
