Gould's demi staccato touch is very difficult to imitate.

The touch, the phrasing, accuracy, clarity, artistry, musicality -- he is genius! Difficult to imitate? Yep.

@@phoebelinden9602 I tried to imitate it, with success. However, I find the hardest aspect to replicate is the absolute clarity of the polyphonic features of Bach. Granted, Glenn's approach to Bach was by all means not emotional, just intellect and spirit. It is good to have intellect in playing-that way, you know what you are doing. However, I find too much intellect in an approach too cold in approach anyway, and sometimes I need to take a break from Gould's sound. In some composers, having a balance of emotional intelligence and structural intelligence is key-I'm talking about composers from the 19th century such as Mendelssohn and Chopin. Glenn's approach to those too is much too cold and structured in my taste. Anyway, that's my opinion which no one ever took seriously anyway.
