One of my favorite. The melody is so modern ... But I prefer it with a solid and swingy rhythm, like Michele Legrand in the 1st album of the Swingle Swingers. And this incredible bass line !

I have a difficult time believing the sinfonia and capriccio were written by a human mind with a human hand. I have no doubt that God was playing through Bach.

He is really great but chose too slow tempo later in the dances. The start is awesome

@LearnCompositionOnline , tbh, tempo is not everything. He plays it very expressive and shows his great technique of which many other keyboard players are just able of dreaming of, IMHO.

Historically, the baroque dance movements like the allemande and courante were played in slower tempi as they were literally meant to be danced but they eventually fell out of popularity and keyboardists had the liberty to play everything faster than what was traditional. People are just used to hearing gould or argerich play everything at like 39371346 bpm. I think he made some very conscious choices with each movement tempo. His stylization, articulation, and embellishments are very tasteful, imo
