Yeah, yeah, I was totally thinking to myself while listening to the old one that the final chord reverb could use some extension. Nah, just kidding. I don't know what that means. But it sounds groovy. :)

@@YozhikvTumane Amen. And Amen. The aware and *elegant* "Verzierungen" for only one thing! Normal ppl: we organists can agonize over just one ostensibly "little" shortcoming in a public performance. And when that performance is for "All of Bach" in The Netherlands...need I say more? Good thing our near and dear at home or at work are capable of a branch of Love called "tacit tolerance" when we all too often go into these moods where you'd think THE dies irae had hit the whole earth. First the partner (and kids) merely laughed. But then any good humor one day gave way to this passive but not aggressive getting on with life till the bizarre symptoms of sudden OCD evntually fade. Bless those near and dear, Dear Lord!! And forgive what we cannot help. (Some teacher with a Bach pedigree drilled us to not let up our attention on those last few measures AND on a musical "release" of the final chord, which often enough they beat out for us like the conductor of an orchestra...until we internalized the lesson ourselves. We can not, will not disappoint that teacher even if they are long r.i.p. ).

@@cswalker21 Ya know what Chris? Yuppp, *groovy* is the goal. You forget all the rest when it happens. Of course, many details have tu add up re get that kind of response. But there is also some kind of "je ne sais quoi" from the composer and/or the performer which transcends the lower levels of "mere" technicality. In the csse of the NBS maybe it has to do with the very idea called "Nederlands"?? If so, "vivent les Pays-bas"!!!

As Schouten said, it’s uncertain whether this is Bach. Certainly not as great as the trio sonatas, but one of those little gems in the Bach catalogue. And not too hard to play for the more modest organist like myself. I really enjoyed this performance. Only thought, a little more registration in the pedal? Perhaps a 4 foot? But really not wanting to criticise.
