'Vater unser im Himmelreich' BWV 737, performed by Bart Jacobs for All of Bach, is Luther’s interpretation of Our Father: the only prayer that came directly from Jesus himself and which has thus always had a special place in Christianity. In Bach’s day, besides being used as a hymn during Communion, Vater unser im Himmelreich was also linked to Rogation Sunday, the fifth Sunday after Easter, which is therefore also the Sunday before Ascension Day, when there were traditional processions through the fields.

Anyone who plays organ agrees it boggles the mind , that the c.f is being played by the feet , so following the bass line on the pedal messes the wiring of the brain

@@simonwilliams2470 I'm not an organist, though I write for the organ and study it often. I thought common practice was to place the cantus in chorale preludes in the pedal? It seems like it'd be most ergonomic to have the least active part being played on the pedals.
