Yeah....we used to do this back in the day. In the late 1980's we were gettin' down with bleach. We didn't have quite as many high lift colors besides Clairol Torrids. Our toners were Born Blondes and Wella toners. This is a great job.

So I've been binge watching your videos for a couple of days now, and I'm obsessed😍😍 but I'm curious as to how you determine if you're going to backcomb and hand paint like this, or just handpaint with the natural fiber michaels brush and not backcomb and why?

My hairdresser used this technique but pulled my hair really hard with the paddle. Is it possible that my hair fell out because of this? Tears were going over my face and then afterwards half of my hair was gone and my scalp hurt. Where i see u holding it loosely. Do you think its possible she pulled my hair out by pulling it with the paddle after teasing it a lot together with the bleach. Trying to find out why my hair fell out. I think it was the hairdresser doing this technique wrong on my curly hair. Thanks in advance!

I love your videos, they help me learn a lot. You normally use foils, what’s the reason for not doing it this time? Is it to achieve a different look? Also, you said your painting all the way up to the teased section to avoid a line? I noticed a lot of people say don’t saturate the hair underneath, just lightly paint the top or it’s not true balayage. What do you think?
@LexiDawnMcc6 жыл бұрын
If you paint all the way through the section you are going to have more blonde at the bottom of the hair, if you just paint on top of the section you will have less blonde at the bottom.
@lizzetcastro735 жыл бұрын

If you have a more sensitive scalp then it would be uncomfortable, the hairdresser goes over basic information with you and asks how sensitive your scalp is so they can adjust their technique or other things accordingly. If you have a really sensitive scalp, the hairdresser would most likely change the technique and not do a backcombing method on you (and would probably do a balayage/free painting technique or a different type of foil method).
@dianeharrison49754 жыл бұрын

@@kaseykasket it was that knotty,,it was crazy ,,tugging at my hair,,im sure i probably got bits of hair broken off,who even thought if this ridiculous method?
@kaseykasket4 жыл бұрын
@@dianeharrison4975 I'm really sorry to hear that, I should have clarified in my comment that the hairdresser *should* be speaking to you first and getting information, then formulating the best execution for what you want and the best way to get it there for you - that way both the pro and the client are happy in the end. The whole point is we want clients to be happy and keep coming back to us, and refer their friends and family. If done right, and with the right products - it's not a terrible process, but if you have a sensitive scalp it wouldn't be a good idea. That's why people have moved into free light painting or balayage - it skips the backcombing and is an easier process for everyone. Some hairdressers just don't have as much of a creative flair as others, so the backcombing method is easier for them to use.
