Yes, the number of cav you have affects the end battle calculation. I figured that out in the first Shogun: Total War. I'm not sure about proximity to enemy units and can't remember if Kisho ninja also get consideration in the calculation. Also siege weapons murder in the end battle calculation, more so than they usually do in the actual battle, which is another benefit to cannons and mangonels. Doesn't make sense, but there you go

Welcome back Don. Remember this is not 3K so even if you have alliance you still have to agree on military access. What happened with that army is your military access expired so you have to renew it next turn.

I've noticed that the only time the game kills the remaining units is when the army has run out of movement on the campaign map before the battle. Are there other occasions when this happens as well?

If the army already retreated that turn... If you engage an army that has retreated already and defeat them on the field, no units will survive.

@@roblaquiere8220 I've noticed that it's not limited only to when an army retreats. If the enemy army runs out of movement points when it's their turn and you attack them when your tun comes - it's an army loos penalty for them! The best way to utilize the warrior monks - attack advancing army when you can, route them as quickly as possible and watch them disappear afterwards!

Senpai, I would like to suggest for, a future campaign, that you try out the Ultimate Immersive Mod. It adds, among many other changes, 106 regions and 103 clans, making the campaign longer, more intricate and, to my estimation, more epic. Just some food for thought. Great video as always.

No thanks, one of the reasons I like Shogun 2 is because I don’t have to ask my great-grandchildren to finish my campaign for me. I can finish the campaigns in a reasonable time, unlike some other TW games.

Campaign is looking good. Now that you expand into Hattori it is all guchi. Loosing that monk is actually good - maybe you will treat it as personal attack but please, just please ignore Hida-Etchu or it will lead to new conspiracy theory (wink-wink). It is cursed in this playthrough (every time you moved there you were setback or just kept losing money because of them) and is causing more misery than actual good. And currently you are at the point that it could become a breeze to steamroll through compared to how difficult this challenge was so far. Call me paranoid but I fear you will get involved in another war on this front before you finish Hattori and it will slow you down once again oO. Best Regards!

So considering you won't be getting the bow monks soon as they are indeed too expensive and not worthwhile at the moment, you might have been able to get more warrior monks sooner if you'd also have made Echizen a warrior monk recruitement base? Because I remember someone suggesting this after your first try, so that could have paid off. This is pure hypothetical of course.

Look at my income and ask yourself that question again, why would I need to be able to recruit more units faster when I can’t even afford them, there’s no reason.

What MrSmartDonkey said. Also it would deprive him of infrastructure in Kaga where he can defend. So it was better to focus on Kaga first. Additionally he won't have to rebuild everything once he can recruit units with province bonuses. Min-maxing is all good and sexy but let's not get full paranoid-pepega and just focus on things that matter

I’m not sure, but I think if you hit end battle and the army hasn’t retreated prior to the battle, they will retreat further with the units they have still alive. But if the army retreated before you fought it, any units still alive will automatically be fully killed. This is what I’ve inferred from my interactions with other armies in Shogun 2.

Continuing a battle seems to lower the victory level by a single tier.. i.e what would have been a Decisive Victory becomes Heroic.. a Heroic Victory becomes a Close Victory... etc. You do manage to kill more troops by continuing but gain less exp for generals... pick your poison I guess..

Ah fair enough, I thought you'd discovered my secret. I've actually been playing a long-con on all these people ever since I started on KZbin back in 2009 on a previous channel. I've made these fools think like they've got a friend in me, that I'm their buddy, but secretly all I've wanted was their money all along. This was but the first step in my master plan, next week I'll tell them my car was stolen, and the week after that my house will have burned down, mwhuhahahaa. I thought I was going to have to silence you forever, but it turns out you know nothing after all... Anyway, in all seriousness though. I understand what you mean, as I was talking about it in the video I was wondering if I should have just let it be and move on, or not, but with my character I just can't not say something. Similar to how when someone leaves a bad comment, I can dwell on it for hours (KZbin really isn't the right occupation for me, good thing I'm a con-artist disguised as a KZbinr), like yours, if you hadn't replied so soon I can guarantee you I would've been dwelling on it for the rest of the day thinking "why doesn't he believe me, I don't understand", which is also why I so often make fun of KZbin commenters in my videos. Always in the form of a joke though, or doing the "whiny commenter" voice, it's a way to release those bad feelings because I'm sharing them with others, who will generally agree with me. Hope that explains it a bit better.

Reinstalling has no influence on that, would have to verify the integrity of the game cache, much faster and gives the same result, but no, that won't fix anything.
