The white balls in the coho fillet is tapicoa disease (Henneguya salminicola). It's common in coho here in Washington. Sometimes just in the tail sections, other times all throughout the flesh.

Since you are self guiding, you can keep two of any sized halibut. I'd take those pinks and catch a cow halibut. Use the whole fish for bait. If you go to another part of SE Alaska, you can self guide on larger enclosed cabin boats, like a Northriver.

Have ALWAYS had luck with pinks and silvers in "upstream" mode, but still in the salt with silver & orange Kastmasters. Chrome & blue too. Something about the action also gets trout upstream, too..😊

As a Southeastern Alaskan, you should really consider using the pink salmon for halibut bait. And ... King salmon has been closed throughout all of Southeast Alaska for almost a month, not just retention, but even trying to catch one.
