As a medical provider, I see chronic pain all the time. I am amazed at your resilience and your drive to do everything you do despite your health concerns. I see it hold a lot of people back and it’s inspiring to see everything you accomplish with what you go through behind the scenes. I hope one day you don’t have to suffer as often or nearly as much as you do ❤️ sending love and best wishes 🙏🏼 I’ve been watching you for many many years and love you

I can validate the pain level. I have had chronic migraine for over 25 years, I am in my mid forties now. I have given birth to an 8.0 pound baby and a 10.2 pound baby. A bad migraine is worse than labor. I am on regular Aimovig, Qulipta, etc. and the rescue shots don't always work for me either. I hope you have a good long spell before your next bad episode. I see you and I can empathize. Hugs.

Fellow migraine person. I’m in my 40’s and it’s been basically my entire life and I’ve passed this down to my teen daughter which sucks & I feel so guilty. I struggle with down cycles and my triggers - and totally can relate to what you’re saying regarding pain and sharing and hearing comments from others that mean well but don’t “get it.” I’m here for the makeup and hair and travel, but I do really relate to you (even tho I’m so much older!) on some health issues too. ❤️

Which is a sign of MS and apparently all of my chronic migraines may not have just been migraines this whole time. Our medical journeys are personal and what we chooses to share and keep private is a very personal choice. I started watching your videos because of foundation I stayed 8 years later because of you and this caring, like minded community you have created. You are honestly one of the only people who allows me to feel sane when it comes to discussions about migraines. I’ve been getting migraines more often the older I get. A few years ago I went to a doctor after dealing with migraines that would wake me up from sleep in tears because the pain was that intense and sudden (kinda felt like someone was throwing a fastball at my head) and I was completely dismissed by my doc. He just prescribed medication that didnt help and sent me on my way. More recently I began having the worst migraines that I’ve had in a while and I told my current doctor about it, thankfully this one took me seriously. It was an emotional experience, having someone who was willing to listen, and I teared up a bit while I was talking to her and explaining my past experience with my former doctor. I just want to thank you so much for encouraging migraine sufferers to advocate for themselves. You’re totally right: it’s hard to understand the pain if you don’t go through it. I hope you are doing well, and I wish you all the best! 💕

I hope you're getting some better help. I have finally found relief the past fews months without having to take pills during the week. My mom has had one headache in her life and thankfully she's been supportive BUT she never understood until she had a headache (sinus). Finding a supportive md is so important. My pcp now personally gets it and I'm using Ajovy thanks to them and its been a miracle. It really is a draining experience physically, emotionally and financially.

I’m sorry you’ve had to deal with this too. There’s no way anyone can understand a bad migraine unless they’ve experienced it themselves. Glad you found a Dr that took you seriously. I’ve found Functional MDs can be very helpful and know what tests to order to figure out the root cause of your migraines. Mine was chemical toxicity because I don’t make enough glutathione. The treatment was life saving for me. I don’t want to get too dark but at my worst when I was having nonstop migraines for days on end, I was about to give up. I wouldn’t wish that pain on my worst enemy.

Here to second Emgality. I’ve suffered from cluster headaches (different from migraines) for 15 years and there is no cure. Emgality was a miracle for me. It works by inhibiting pain receptors so it works for a variety of different root causes since it treats the pain rather than the cause.

A killer migraine is the worst ! Migraine is worse than childbirth pain. I gave birth 3 times with no pain management, childbirth pain was not much in comparison to some migraines I have had, or when I had kidney stones, so I opted to say no to meds. I was coping well with the temporary pain during delivery. I also used to go to a doctors office a few times to have a shot during killer migraines. After menopause, I now rarely get a migraine and maybe killer migraine once a year. Congrats to Rachel ! Her baby is beautiful and seems super healthy. She looked like a cuddle bug baby ! So sweet.

I empathize so deeply with your chronic pain. I cant fathom what that's like and I pray for your healing, truly. But women die during childbirth. Children die during childbirth. Let's not compare pain. Imagine how much that would hurt you if someone said "xyz condition is ranked more painful than a migraine". Just saying. Love you and your videos Taylor! Sincerely, a woman who thought she wouldn't live to see her baby ❤️‍🩹

I think the Seattle weather is not good for your head. I too have migraines n different climates kill me. I’m from SF (lived there for 35 yrs) & had really bad migraines there but now live in Las Vegas for the last 5 yrs n they haven’t been as bad. Of course any time it rains I get a h/a but the weather really matters. Many ER visits only 2 since I’ve been here n I use Maxalt too. The barometric pressure really matters to my head. I’m also an RN. Wishing u a pain free day sweets🤕❤️✌🏼

What a beautiful thing to see you holding Rach's baby! How special of a moment was that, so cool. And OMG!! The cutest chunky cheeks ever 🥰 Also: I fully understand about the migraines & chronic pain/illness stuff. It's brutal, and by far is way more painful than my experience with childbirth was! The first migraine I ever had, I literally had the thought "so THIS is what it feels like to die" cuz I didn't know what was happening to me, and had zero control over anything that was happening. Thoughts & support to all my fellow spoonies who are struggling today 🥄🥄 🖤

Such a lovely baby baerrito! I'm glad you got to visit with your bestie. I wish migraine had stayed away for you. Thank you for keeping it real. Even the tip of the iceberg spreads awareness. All the places you go for treatment give other patients hope and possibilities. I like to hear treatment reviews and updates because I have the same areas of chronic pain and migraine (I'm about to try Nurtec ODT. I use Emgality and eletriptan, but I think I'm too used to the triptan (brand name Relpax). It's not working completely. That awareness caused me panic for a hot minute.) The ER only stops my vomiting, so I avoid them too as long as I have that beast under control. Great tip about infusion centers. I will look into that for future. ERs used to give patients drugs like demerol in IV, but I think the opioid crisis changed that. The best they can do is make me super dopey so I sleep. Silver lining -- I'm more creative after migraine attacks. I also appreciate my good days (like I'm giddy happy. lol)

I was in the hospital about a month ago for 3 weeks for my health stuff and if that wasn't enough my migraines decided to come to the party and I was puking my guts out for days. It lasted 3 days before they finally got the migraine down under the 10 it was at and the vomiting stopped. And the vomiting furthered crashed my electrolytes which were so low they were messing with my heart. Migraines SUCK! I have headaches and migraines every second of my life along with alllll my other health issues. I always explain it as my head feeling like it's literally going to explode. With extreme sensitivity to light, sound and smell. I used to suffer from chronic migraines. I had a heart attack at the age of 38 due to a cardiac artery spasm. It was a terrifying experience and I had another one at 42. I’m 51 now and haven’t had once since. The silver lining for me was I was prescribed Isosorbide mononitrate and have not had a full migraine since. I sometimes still get an aura and a headache but it is nowhere near as bad as a migraine. It took a heart attack to get something that worked for my migraines. Crazy, right?

Taylor, thank you for bringing visibility to migraine - I really think anything you say and choose to show is helpful. It is hard to understand if you haven’t experienced one, and it is still confusing and ever-changing even for those of us who do have them. Your videos unintentionally helped me figure out mine (I am the same age as you, and have had migraine since high school but the frequency of mine increased a lot in recent years). Your mentioning migraine in videos also help me feel less alone when I feel like no one understands the frustration and mixed emotions I feel over them. Appreciate you and all the kinds of content you post!💕 Seeing you travel and work through them is also very inspiring and motivating, as sometimes I feel like I will never be able to do many of things I want to do because of migraine.

I usually have to go into the ER once a month, there are times I can go maybe a couple months without going to the ER. Toradol and Zofran are a godsend. I usually don’t do the IV Benadryl because it makes me too tired to get home. There have been a couple times the Toradol didn’t help and it’s so scary and hard when it doesn’t. There have been times when they give me Butabitol with the Toradol and that’s helped. I assume you don’t let them give you Regalan or Compazine (I can’t because of the side effects). I hate when people try to give you advice as if you never tried it. I get they think maybe it’s something you haven’t tried, but when you suffer with migraines so much you’ve basically tried it all. Nurtec seems to help at times so that’s nice but it is a hopeless feeling. Thanks for sharing. ♥️

It seems quite strange that you had that particularly awful migraine when you were back in Seattle. Hi Taylor - as someone who deals with chronic pain (I do have arthritis in my neck but my biggest problem is the spinal fusion I had at 19 which now causes arthritis and degenerative disc disease), it's hard to explain to anyone what it's like. They know if they know. So, I don't bother explaining myself. There's just always going to be people who don't get it. Don't ever feel like you have to explain yourself to anyone, but especially the internet. Because whether or not you comment on your health, there will always be people who have unwarranted opinions and advice. Just worry about you. 😊
