Amazing how different this gym looks to a powerlifting gym in the USA. And yet it is filled with monsters. I like the vibe. Very no nonsense.

That girl must be producing hella torque doe ....so so strong, wish I had dat relative strength , insane!

Yes, I know, and head swinging for that reasons is good for people that have trouble keeping their chest up. It may also be because you don't have a tight core - and therefore, got to much trunk lean.

I find swinging my head back helps keeps good posture, not just for balance. With high bar squats the goal is to be as upright as possible throughout the whole movement.

of note, very strong music they play in the back ground

Fuck man, I wish I could squat like that. It's a shame too with my knee surgery and the scare with a partial hernia couple months back.

Guy at 1:06 such a beast. Back angle doesn't even budge. How long has he been squatting to get to that?
@9RedJohn910 жыл бұрын
It is easy. They are doing high-bar since they started training. They need that type of backsquat because it has the greatest carryover to the front squat and overhead squat, which they are using in both thier main lifts.

The chinese have a technique where they allow their knees to buckle in to get power and torque out of the hole.

I noticed that the girl and the more 'fitter' looking young guy would sort of throw their heads back during their squats and it seemed like it was done purposfully. Can the video poster or anyone comment?

john smith yes to the cues no to not wanting the glutes to take over you cannot isolate the quads the squat is a hip and knee extension you use glute and quads equally and a lot of hamstring to more than you realize

I notice that they don't squat anywhere near as deep as they snatch or clean. Is there a reason for this or just a natural consequence of heavy squats?
@kanskesenare224611 жыл бұрын
In the back sqaut? It's for balance.

is there any reason for the guy and that girl cocking their head back like that i know keeping your head back will keep you upright but it looks like they are trying to give themselves whiplash lol not me hating just curious
@Housemusic9010 жыл бұрын
yes, to keep the back straight and to come better out of the bottom position. It's common in WL squats

idc what anyone says... yeah that girl squats a hell of a lot and obviously is tremendously strong. but her knees seriously scare me
@neometalx910 жыл бұрын
I do that slightly, just neutral knees on the way down then up and almost at quarter squat position I shove them out.. used to do out on the way down and keep it like that till I'm done then realized my knees were unstable and a bit sore after every squat session, it's fine now.
@HenryNintendoNerd8 жыл бұрын
people tell novice and nob lifters not to do it because when a novice squats that way, it is actually becase they have weak as fuck aductors/hips. When these oly lifters do it, they are doing it intentionally as it increases quad activation. It isn't an uncontrolled mechanic from weakness and bad techniqual knowledge of the moment they are performing. basically, it isnt dangerous.
@cageC648 жыл бұрын
yeah, but I see Clarence Kennedy knee caving a bit pretty frequently in his videos and he's his share of knee problems. Of course that might have something to do with him putting 500-600+ pound loads on his body twice a day. But idk it's still something I try to avoid when I lift.
@neometalx98 жыл бұрын
2 years later comment haha.. anyways, oly lifters way are unorthodox to powerlifters, yet they are very strong in their own way.. these people squatting are much better than many powerlifters i have seen, and they do high bar which is usually less used by powerlifters as you cant lift as much as with low bar.
@PrototypeBMX7 жыл бұрын
you get plenty quad activation pushing the knees out you also get better glute activation and less pressure on the acl so stfu this is just bad habit and should be corrected clarence has knee problems because he blasts the wrong gear too much roids not enough hgh his tendons are fucked
