@Benji Lewis I'm not a teacher but I truly believe you! I've always had trouble keeping a straight face on the "parents meet the teacher" meetings because some parents act like THEIR child is entitled...like "He always excelled in pre-school, so he's already more advanced." Here's another one: "Last year they said he might have Adhd, but really, he's just a 5 yr. old who isn't content to just sit. He's just active!" Lmao! Or "She's very shy, can you give her a lot of attention?" I know the poor teacher is fantasizing about punching these "Karen Moms" in the face. But all teachers maintain such a high level of professionalism and I am in awe of all teachers.

Yep, the school board changed my high school mascot from the Mohicans since the high school opened in the 1920s, to the Black Panthers in 2010. No one ever complained about it until the new younger people who were hired for more fresh ideas, more changes in the school system, and said in a lie, the mascot name, the Mohicans didn’t sound serious enough or powerful enough for our sports teams in high school and the Black Panthers sounds more serious and more intimidating to the other high schools. 🤦🏻♀️

@ilovesteveclark60842 жыл бұрын
@Lindsey Pilz hahaha! Your absolutely right! I cringe when I hear other parents say that! And so many parents don't realize that there are children who's families cannot afford to buy school supplies, like notebooks, writing paper, etc...and so the teacher ends up buying it out of their own money! Parents need to be educated on how much our teachers do for our children!

Wow. I never imagined life would be like this 35 years ago. We had fire drills and tornado drills when I was a kid. There was fear when AIDS was first discovered and paranoia that it could spread by mosquitoe bite. It was scary at first but then things seemed to settle pretty quickly. Now the whole world seems crazy. I feel for everyone who has children, it's hard enough to navigate everything as a lone adult. But just keep on praying and be kind to one another.

A closed door wont stop an active shooter
@nocturnalizzie3 жыл бұрын
@@katiemorrow2326 Well yeah, it's not like they're incapable of opening a door or shooting through it. But the protocol in a lot of schools these days is to keep doors closed, sometimes locked, all the time to save a few seconds in case there is a shooting. Some teachers keep the door propped open with the handle locked instead. I didn't have very many shooter drills in school but when I did, we would turn off the lights, close and lock the door (and sometimes move a desk or shelf in front of it I think?) and hide silently.
