Fun fact...In part 2, when old Biff Is giving young Biff the almanac, FOUR DeLoreans exist at the same time: 1. The DeLorean Old Biff took back 2. The flying DeLorean Doc and Marty used to come back to stop him. 3. The DeLorean that is in Doc's shop in the first film waiting for the lighting. 4. The DeLorean buried in the cave that 50s Doc had not yet dug up.

I can be wrong because time travel stuff is tricky AF but, they aren't technically just three at the same moment/time period (1955)? I mean, I think #1,2 & 3 coexists at the same time because they can't override each other's existence. As #2 arrives with Doc and Marty before old Biff leaves back with #1. And at the same time Marty is about to back to 1985 for the first time with #3. BUT, #4 is different because isn't there because of time travel and is not popping out from another time. It's directly consequence from the #2 lightning failure, so the events of one doesn't unfold until the other's end. Or for short, #4 cant be in the cave until #2 vanishes in the air. Anyway, sorry if I cant explain it correctly lol... this is just my opinion thinking about time being lineal no matter is present, past or future.

There was a deleted scene where Buford shoots Marshall Strickland, who dies telling his son "remember, discipline", but the producers thought it was too dark. That's why the deputy is the one that arrests him at the end.

There is also a deleted scene in part 2 where old Biff vanishes when he returns the DeLorean to 2015. There's a reason he's suffering when he comes out. He altered his own timeline. In the scene he goes behind a dumpster and disappears. The filmmakers said that the original idea was that Lorraine finally had enough and killed Biff in the 90s, erasing his future existence.
@Cheepchipsable
@Cheepchipsable Жыл бұрын
@@danielsanz2061 Except Biff would have never been able to return to the 2015 he left since he had altered his own past. That 2015 would cease to exist, the same way Doc explained to Marty they couldn't fix things by going back to 2015 and doing things different. In the first movie they seemed to establish it took about a week for time to reset/catch up/resync, when Marty almost vanished.

That would have created an anomaly that would have destroyed the entire universe. If biff had changed the future to where rich biff rules hill valley, doc never would have made a time machine and Marty never went back in time, if the time machine never gets built, biff never gets to go back in time to change the time line.

The destruction of the Delorean at the end always felt to me like the death of a character. First because the car is a character of the trilogy after all and its sad to watch it destroyed and second because you know that moment everything is over. The long ride is over. I wonder how Zemeckis and Gale came with the idea of a friendship between a weird scientist and a teenager, wich never was explained in the trilogy how they met, but it worked so well and their friendship feels so real. One of the best things of this great trilogy and the last goodbye always gets me.

They didn't explain with words, but the general idea was put across in the opening scenes of the first movie. They first met in 1985, before Doc finished the DeLorean. That's when their personal timelines together began. "Past Doc" met Marty in 1955, but as far as MARTY was concerned, he'd already met and made friends with Doc in 1985, before he ever met "Doc 1955". Somehow, in 1985, they first bumped into each other in a random encounter; and in that first encounter, Doc introduced himself, and Marty, intrigued, went to visit. Marty floated the idea of the world's most powerful amplifier, and Doc said, "Let's build it!". And cue the opening scenes of BTTF Part 1. The rest is history. Or the future. Depending. 🤔🙄😕 DOC! Such a brilliant conclusion. That finale with the steam train pushing the Delorean was one of the most thrilling sequences I'd seen as a 12 year old back in 1990. It's still thrilling now. Those effects stand up, but the key there is you genuinely care about the characters - the stakes are high, and real. It's something modern writers and directors really need to think about, and stop magically bringing people back to life or whatever with their never-ending "superhero" movies.

A few subtle changes in the timeline after Marty gets back from 1885. First, the ravine is no longer called "Clayton Ravine", it's now "Eastwood Ravine", and notice also the change in Biff... in the first movie at the end, and in the extended part of that scene at the beginning of the second movie, Biff was wearing a green outfit, but as Marty encounters him at the end of this movie, presumably around the same time of day, Biff is in a maroon outfit.

I've said this on other reactions to this movie: Doc HAD to take Clara to 1985 with him. She was supposed to die in 1885. Leaving her there would be a huge risk to the future timeline, after all he told her about the future and time travel, and the fact that she saw the miniature DeLorean/time machine at Doc's lab. He could not leave her in 1885 with that information.
@Cheepchipsable

Well the Docs presence there would have altered things anyway. With his knowledge of the future he might have had a positive influence. I can't help but think the Doc might have changed his mind, since he would realize his own time loop and maybe decide he wanted to break out of it. He was killed first, so that never happened.

@@Cheepchipsable Yeah Doc made things even worse by leaving the DeLorean buried in the cave to begin with, risking someone finding it over the 70 years it had to remain there until Marty and Doc can get it in 1955. There was a Saturday morning cartoon of Back to the Future after this that lasted 2 seasons. It had Marty, Doc, Clara, Jules, Verne (named after sci-fi author Jules Verne, who Doc and Clara mentioned during the kissing scene), Biff, and various historical figures. After the events of part 3, Doc moves his family to a farm in Hill Valley and builds a new Delorian time machine that can travel time without needing to go 88 mph. They also still have the steam-powered train. Doc was voiced by Dan Castanella, best known as Homer Simpson and lots of other Simpsons characters. Clara is voiced by the same actress from the movie, Mary Steenbergen, and Biff is voiced by the same actor from the movies, Thomas F. Wilson. Christopher Lloyd appeared as Doc in live-action segments in the beginning and end of the shows, doing experiments.

Remember, when Doc decided to stay in the past after saving Clara, he would had to remain in the past for many years building the new time machine. This gave him time to start a family and even have children. When he finally completed his new time machine train, he just set the coordinates to the same day Marty had arrived in 1985. So from Doc's perspective it had been many years since he'd seen Marty vanish back to 1985. But from Marty's perspective, he'd just seen Doc only a few hours ago. Something similar happens near the end of the first movie where Marty goes back to 1985 ten minutes BEFORE he had originally gone back to 1955. From his perspective over a week had gone by, but his other self hadn't even begun the journey yet.

17:52 One of the reasons most people didn't smile in the earliest photographs taken in the 1800s was, the exposure took time, and if the subjects didn't remain still, the photo was ruined. A dour or serious expression is easier to "freeze" for a couple of minutes. Technology improved by 1885, but by then the tradition of a serious expression in a photo was already set. We're not sure when or why this changed in the early 20th century.

LOL!!!! I’m laughing while I watch your discussion after this one ended! I love how much you enjoyed these movies and again your appreciation of the author’s cleverness. Now, you have a great exposure to Christopher Lloyd as Doc, John Lithgow as the Pastor in Footloose, Peter Weller as the first Robocop, Jeff Goldblum from Jurassic Park, and Clancy Brown as Captain Hadley from Shawshank. All of these actors are in the sci-fi movie, “The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the Eighth Dimension” . It’s a tongue-in-cheek entertaining movie which I think you will love and laugh at.

I love this trilogy partly from the ingeniously subtle easter eggs and tie ins. The drag race at the end (that Marty didn't accept the challenge) would have been the accident that injured his hand mentioned in part two. The guy driving the car that challenged him to the drag race was also his coworker Needles, that gets him fired in part two. Needles is played by Michael Peter "Flea" Balzary. Flea is one of the most talented bass guitar players (best know as the bass player for The Red Hot Chili Peppers) in the world today. Brilliant tie-in line for such a small amount of total on screen time.

Mary Steenburgen was a perfect fit for BTTF. She has been in Time travel before (Time After Time 1979.). A year later, in 1980 She would win the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in Melvin and Howard. She's really great and Spielberg recreated her angry/freaked out reaction from Time After Time when the guy She's in love with tells her that he came to her Time in a time machine and she just thinks he's nuts. A big letdown for her. Of course, we all know the ending is a happy one. I'm so glad you guys watched the whole trilogy. 🙂

If you want to see a continuation of the Back to the Future story, you could play the Telltale game that came out in the early 2010's. Bob Gale was a story consultant for the game, & Bob was the one who wrote all of the orginal movies with his friend Robert Zemeckis. He got the idea for the first movie after seeing his fathers old yearbook and wandering if they would've been friends at that time. Steven Spielberg wasn't involved mush with the creative process, he mostly made sure the movie was maid how Bob & Robert wanted it, keeping the studio out of the film so it would turn out good, like making sure the orginal name stayed & not the name the studio wanted to call it "Space Man form Pluto" a real studio suggestion for the movie. They also never planned on making sequels for Back to the Future, the ending of the first movie was just one last joke.

This is one of my dearest childhood memories, watching these movies. They are so well written, everything from the slapstick comedy to the deeper emotionel fight for romance, and the small details like how he defeated Buford Tannen, which is the same way as Clint Eastwood succeed in the movie that Biff Tanne was watching in the sequel. The cast was amazing and i especially love Tom Wilson, who played Biff in all the different time periods. Simply just a great movie, great fun and full of love for the audience. In my opinion some of the funniest movies and best trilogies ever made.

They did such a great job with details! As Doc & Marty were asking the engineer if it might be possible to get the train up to 90, in the background, workers were unloading the clock for the tower--and Clara was standing, looking around for Doc to meet her to take her to the schoolhouse. When he didn't show up, she rented the buckboard and set out on her own, and a snake spooked her horses, which was supposed to send her over the cliff to her death. (Oh, and since she wasn't supposed to be in 1885 anymore, it would have been perfectly fine for Doc to take her with them to 1985.) To take pictures at night like that, they needed a flash. I hope you'll watch the trilogy Star Trek II-III-IV from the '80s!

Since I've grown up with the best trilogy ever, I've learned that my favorite of the three changes as the decades pass. As a child in the 80's and 90's, I like Part 2 the most. In the 00's and 10's, Part 1 was preferred. I'm in my 40's now and since 2015 is over with, I've leaned to like Part III the most. I might change it again next decade. lol

A couple of things you guys missed. In part two, the Clint Eastwood movie A Fistful of Dollars was showing on TV where Clint uses the stove door under his serape as a bullet proof vest. Also the name of the ravine in 85 was originally Clayton ravine (after Clara Clayton who originally died when her runaway carriage plunged into it). When Marty comes back it is now named Eastwood ravine, because Clint Eastwood (Marty) plunged into it in 1885. Also, it is odd that his great, grandmother is identical looking to his mother who is of no relation.

It's strange to think that there were four DeLoreans in 1955. The first DeLorean is the one Marty took back from 1985 in Part I and is under a tarp near the clock tower. The second DeLorean is the one Old Biff took back from 2015 and is parked outside the Tannen home on the street. The third DeLorean is the one taken back by Marty and Doc from the alternate 1985 and is hidden behind a billboard. The forth DeLorean is the one hidden in a cave by Doc from 1885 in Part III.

There is an animated series that ran for 2, 13 episode seasons. Following the conclusion of Back to the Future Part III, in 1991, Dr. Emmett Brown moved into a farm in Hill Valley with his wife Clara, their sons Jules and Verne, and the family dog, Einstein. As with the films, time travel was achieved through the use of a modified DeLorean, which had apparently been rebuilt after it was destroyed at the end of the trilogy. The DeLorean now has voice-activated "time circuits" and can also travel instantaneously to different locations in space and time, in addition to folding into a suitcase. The characters also travel through time using the steam engine time machine Doc invented at the end of the third film. Robert Zemeckis and producer/screenwriter Bob Gale are both adament that there will never be a part 4. They want for the trilogy to never be remade or continued. It is complete at three films.

There's actually a "Back to the Future Part IV," it's the point-click adventure videogame from 2010-11 by TellTale Games. It has Bob Gale attached to it (fyi, he and Rob Zemekis are the rights holders of this franchise) and the game brought back Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Tom Wilson and Claudia Wells (the ORIGINAL Jennifer Parker in BTTF1!) Just make sure you play the "30th Anniversary" Edition since Tom Wilson (Biff) voices all the Tannen characters in this version.

You wanna blow up your mind? Timetravels in BTTF trilogy works like this: everytime they change something in the past, the timeline overwrites itself with the new one, changing while they're living it. So by the time the Delorean is struck by the lightning sending Doc back to 1885, the new timeline is automatically created. This timeline is called "four deloreans timeline" In this particular timeline there are AT THE SAME TIME in 1955, for just a few hours, 4 Deloreans: the one from the first movie hidden in Doc's mansion, the flying one stolen by old Biff in 2015, the flying one used by Doc and Marty to catch the almanac back, and the one hidden from 70 years in the mine, waiting to be discovered sometime later. Also, there are in this timeline 2 Martys, the one from the first movie who has to go back in 1985 and the one who's trying to get back the almanac from Biff. 2 Biffs, the old one from 2015 and the young one from 1955, and 3 Docs: the young one from 1955 who helps Marty to go back to 1985, the old one who comes with Marty to get back the almanac, and the dead one in the graveyard...

Doc could have lived 20 years in the past, building the time machine and having kids. It doesn’t matter. He knew exactly when Marty returned in 1985… a little after 8:00am. So, even if he spent decades in the past, Doc could travel back to shortly after Marty arrived. For Marty, it’s been 10 minutes. But for Doc, it could be years.
