This was a great show. I loved every moment of it. I was impressed by the PACMAN chase sequence through the retro video games. Mind you, the game characters following PacMan toward the end of the piece reminded me of the closing sketches of the Benny Hill Show shown to the tune of Yakkety Sax. It was great to see BabyFractic in the show. This is now very much family viewing, I love the Isometric retro computer image as well. That is fantastic. This show is the pick-up I need with the terrible things that are taking place in the UK and the rest of the world today. It feels like the entire world is becoming crueller. So the RRetroshow is definitely the dose of kindness we all need to soothe our frazzled souls. Oh, there was a fantastic performance from Harleyfractic in all of her roles. Thank you to all the Fractics.

I just love your channel it brings back wonderful memories for me of living though the 1980's. Life seemed less complicated and we only had to worry about things like choosing the right mixtape for our road trips and waiting for our favorite TV shows to air on actual television. The '80s had a unique charm that's hard to replicate, and your channel does an incredible job of capturing that nostalgia. Thank you for the memory lane, and please keep the great content coming! cheers

Randomly, Micheal Knight (David Hasselhoff) was in my city of Christchurch, a week or so back... and apparently I missed him by mere minutes on a lunchtime walk... two of my work colleagues saw him though, albeit surrounded by a film crew. They didn't like to disturb him - but other people got photos with him and it was reported by local media that he was very gracious, friendly and approachable!

Anyone who has seen clips of Peter Kay's misheard lyrics will appreciate this one... I clicked play on this video and an urgent email arrived on my second monitor, so I started reading it and was only half listening to the intro - as the intro tune played I heard "the monster turd will come back to you" instead of "the nostalgia" - once you hear it you can't unhear it. Hopefully it's not just me, although I am prepared to accept that it may be! 🤣

Here's all the references I recognized from the Pac-Man segment. It's a mega-post. Oviously, Pac-Man. Dig Dug, starting with a Fygar. Also, Dig Dug on the side inflating a blow-up doll. When the ghosts are coming up, they pass skeletons of Joe and Mac, and a pile of E.T. Atari 2600 games. Pac Man encounters Bomberman. Inky does the Mortal Kombat "Toasty!" Paperboy (but I don't know if the canyon he knocks the kid into is a reference) Frogger, which includes Penn and Teller in a bus (probably referencing Desert Bus), Outrun (the couple in the red sports car), Ryu in a beat-up car from the Bonus Stage, and a pizza delivery person (who I don't recognize). Frogger is dancing in a reference to Michigan J. Frog, and Blinky shows a sexy leg in reference to the Intermissions in Pac-Man. As the ghosts cross, there's Crazy Taxi, and Luigi from Mario Kart. Pac-Man steals the skateboard from Adventure Island, and crashes through Arthur from Ghosts and Goblins. During the Simpsons part, there's Bonanza Brothers, but I don't know the man with the bomb. The Wanted poster most likely has the main character from Splatterhouse on it. Marco, Tarma, and a Hostage from Metal Slug are in front of a shop labeled "HeavyMachine Guns" (and the H is the powerup pickup for that weapon). Pac-Man narrowly avoids running over a line of Lemmings. Mike Tyson is training in front of a shop labeled "Twin Galaxies" (a famous high score/speedrun site, the referee might be a reference to one of the founders). Two men (I don't recognize them, sorry) are in front of Moe's Bar, which is renamed "Tapper's", in reference to the arcade game Tapper. Leisure Suit Larry is passing a store with several TVs with the face of Robotnik/Eggman's from Sonic the Hedgehog (which used TVs as powerups, including ones with his face that damaged the player if opened) while Dr. Wily from the Megaman series glares at them. The mouse-cop is Mappy. In the background is "Cadillac's & Dinosaurs" (an arcade beat-em-up), Pixel Hut (instead of Pizza Hut, referencing the term "pixels"), and Starblocks which has a top that looks like the Grass Block texture from Minecraft. The statue is an arcade machine. Pac-Man hits a manhole as Michelangelo from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reaches out for a slice of pizza. Pac-Man enters a half-pipe formation in what is likely a Marble Madness reference, though it could be SpinDizzy. He then falls onto a set of platforms from BurgerTime. Exiting a window has him hopping across platforms from Buster Bros. (also known as Pang) while a grappling hook (a weapon powerup in Buster Bros.) fires, and the view zooms out to show the main character tied to a chair. Tetris is followed by Arkanoid, then Rainbow Islands (a sequel to Bubble Bobble). Then Pac-Man interrupts a character from Balloon Fight (wearing a Google Earth helmet) taking a photo of a formation of Galaga enemies who scatter. Then he passes an Asteroids asteroid field, with the Asteroid ship lodged in the moon's eye (referencing the film "A Trip to the Moon"), falls past an Space Invaders UFO, falls through a flock of Duck Hunt ducks, and Mario and Sonic (possibly referencing "Mario & Sonic and The Olympic Games"?). Pac-Man then lands on Donkey Kong (breaking the girders like Donkey Kong usually does), falls and lands on Lizzie and Ralph from Rampage!, and into an open manhole. (There are two guys on computers in a window of the central building that aren't part of Rampage!, but I don't recognize them.) Pac-Man lands on a Q*Bert pyramid, including hitting him and causing him to exclaim in his iconic way. Finally, he lands back in the maze, but the huge crowd contains: - Yoshimitsu from Soul Calibur series - A two-headed wolf (I don't recognize) - Lizzie from Rampage! - Main character from Splatterhouse - Sausage and Egg from BurgerTime - Blizzard from Primal Rage (Maybe) - Axe-wielding zombie from House of the Dead - Whale from Bubble Bobble - A red/black dinosaur (I don't recognize) - A cat (I don't recognize. Bubsy generally has a tshirt, so probably not him.) - A monkey (I don't recognize) - One of the Battletoads - The two police officers from Point Blank - A character with a snake body and four arms (I don't recognize) - Viruses from Dr. Mario - Michael Jackson from Moonwalker - Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat - Alex Kidd - A blue character on a hoverboard vehicle (I don't recognize) - A clown (I don't recognize) - Q*Bert - Bentley Bear from Crystal Castles - Donkey Kong holding a barrel - Robot from Berzerk - Goro from Mortal Kombat - Dog from Duck Hunt - Arthur from Ghosts and Goblins - Pac-Man Ghosts: Inky, Pinky, Clyde, Blinky - Blanka from Street Fighter series After the view change, the visible characters chasing the Pac-Man family are Blanka, M. Bison, Earthworm Jim, a Drunk from Bubble Bobble, Centipede from Centipede, and Voldo from the Soul Calibur series. If anyone recognizes the ones I didn't (or if I made any mistakes), please feel free to reply with additions/corrections. Hopefully we can get this to be a complete listing for anyone with questions! ^_^
