Not only did Marty change his parent's future but the town as well. Not many people noticed that when Marty met Doc early in the morning, it was at the Twin Pines Mall. When he gets back to 1985 its now the Lone Pine Mall. That's because when he goes to 1955 he destroyed the other pine when he hit the barn. 🙂

I met Michael J. Fox once. I saved him from a large group of autograph hounds at Walt Disney World. He was in disguise, trying to enjoy the park as regular guest. He was spotted, and about 80 to 100 people surrounded him. I opened a restaurant door and called out his name. He looked at me and shouted ... "Over here"! He walked over and went through the door. I closed it, and now I had him safe backstage. He didn't know quite where he was, and wanted to link back up with his wife and kids. I told him to relax, I knew where they were, and what they looked like. They were in the "Honey I shrunk The Kids Playground". I took him to the back exit of the playground, and asked him if he wanted them now, or can they still play some. He said to let them play. So I went inside, found them and told them he'd be right out back. I cleared it with everyone working the playground, but none of them believed me. So every time someone bumped to the rear exit, they would open the door to see if what I said was true. It was funny, because every now and then, someone would open the door and say "Holy shit". He and I hung out for about 20 minutes, and then his family came out back. After they were reunited, I asked them what they wanted to do next. He told me they had dinner reservations at The Brown Derby. So I guided them backstage as far as I could take them without being seen by the guests. I opened a door near the Chinese Theater, and pointed at the restaurant. I asked if he could make it that far without a bodyguard, and he said yes. He thanked me, and went on his way. He was a very nice guy. Very genuine. Not a fake personality. A real good person!

@@godmagnus He was trying to remain unrecognized, but was spotted very quickly sitting at a table by himself. He was at the most hidden and remote table you could find on the patio. This was about the 4th time I had seen him there before. People had always figured out who he was every time. This time, he was really swamped by fans. So I stepped up and rescued him. I always felt sad that he wanted to remain unknown, and enjoy the parks like everyone else. But he could never do that. He was too well known. Even wearing a trench coat in summer, a baseball cap, sunglasses, and a fake mustache never helped him. I gave him a quick way out that day. He only endured being surround for about 60 seconds that day. He was very thankful. He would have been there all day signing autographs if no one saved him from that. He just wanted to have fun with his family, like a normal person. He had lost that after he made this movie. He was too famous after that. Everyone in the world knew who he was after 1985.

SUch a fun reaction by you and you really showed your emotions so well. The only actress who was changed is Jennifer who had to take care of her ill mother, but she wont have a big role as you will see in part 2. Part 3 is very good too so as people say you def should see the next 2 films.

Please continue with the trilogy! There’s only a couple of casting changes (Jennifer’s different because the original actress retired from the business to to care for her mother, and George McFly was recast because Crispin Glover asked for more more than they were willing to pay) and it all follows on perfectly from the original. I think you’ll really dig the crazy time travel plots as well 😁 And speaking of time travel, it does seems like Marty was destined to do everything in the movie, because he seems to make things happen that were already in place before he ever time-travelled (for example, inspiring the cleaner to eventually become mayor, inspiring Chuck Berry to write Johnny B Goode and inspiring his parents to name one of their kids “Marty”), but these were done more for comedic effect than anything. I think the writers’ intention was that by travelling back into the past, Marty fundamentally changed the future for himself and had to hurry to change things back before it became permanent. It wasn’t predestined. It melts your brain to figure all this stuff out, but as long as it’s fun then it doesn’t really matter… and Back To The Future is one of the most fun movies ever made!

Time travel in this movie is when something changes, it changes everything, but it takes a bit for those out-of-time for changes to catch up to them, what Doc refers to as temporal flux, which is what gives the movie a lot of its tension. For example, Marty was named after his ancestor, but after going back in time maybe Marty was named after that quirky kid his parent met that got them together. For some of these, who knows. But, Marty was not named after himself in the beginning. You can notice some changes in movie. Big things like Marty’s parents are more happy and confident and their house is much nicer at the end. Small things like the ledge Doc broken on the clock was not broken at the beginning, Twin Pines mall changed to Lone Pine mall after Marty ran over Peabody’s second pine tree and killed it. Some things we’ll never know, did Johnny B. Goode’s origin change, did Mayor Wilson’s inspiration to run for mayor change, did Marty’s name origin change?

Great reaction. But just you know. Did you notice that before Marty went back in time, the ledge of the clock tower was intact. But when he goes Back to the Future, after he gets there, a helicopter light shows that the ledge was broken off in the second timeline. That's because Doc had broken it off after trying to reconnect the cable to the street to send Marty back Watch it closely. Before, when Marty and Jennifer were kissing at the beginning of the movie, then right after Marty gets back to 1985. Many people miss this detail

PS: When commenting about the farmer and his family freaking out you say, "It's just a bloody car." I guarantee that in 1955 the average rural farmer would not have recognized a DeLorean as I car. I wish that Doc Brown had figured out enough of what Marty was trying to tell him, without the letter. Especially with Marty saying, "Your life depends on it!" The hallmark of a good scientist is that he figures things out. 7:50 Biff to the rescue. Also earlier in the coffeehouse, when George was mangling himself with Lorraine. Things would have gone way south otherwise.

Please do continue the trilogy. The first was originally written as a standalone. The end was just a fun stinger (Gale said he wouldn’t have brought Jennifer to the future if he knew he’d be writing a sequel). But, the second and third were written together, filmed nearly together, and released close to one another. Each movie picks up where the previous lets off and forms a long movie when watched together. And the patterns are great. Some people cite these movies as a master class in how to write sequels. There are two minor casting changes. The actor playing George refused to be in it (I forget why) so he was recast though you may not notice if you’re not looking for it. The actor that played Jenn had an emergency with her mom and was not available so she was recast. I never noticed at the time, but you can notice if your paying enough attention. That’s it. It doesn’t mess up the movies whatsoever. Do enjoy them. Oh, and some people worry the teaser for the third at the end of the second might spoil things. It doesn’t. I saw the movie in theaters. It conveys nearly no new knowledge compared to the end of the second. It’s not a trailer, it’s a tease i.e. it just shows you a few quick scenes without dialog to get you hype. But, if you’re watching the third soon after the second, you also don’t miss out on much by skipping it either. Your choice. We who watched in theaters saw it.

More guitar fun facts.... The little yellow guitar in the very beginning is called a Chiquita(USA). They were pretty rare back then, and are very collectible today. The black guitar Marty plays at the dance audition is an Ibanez (Japanese) Roadstar Guitar. The legendary Steve Vai redesigned the Roadstar Guitar making it curvier with sharper edges. It was re-named RG (short for Roadstar Guitar) and became a staple in the 80s "Hair Metal" era and is still being produced today. The red "hollowbody electric" Marty plays at the dance in 1955 is a Gibson(USA) ES-358. This guitar is not correct for 1955 due to the fact it was made in 1958. In 1955 the correct Gibson hollowbody would've been the ES-355. However the ES-355 is about 15% bigger than a ES-358 and Michael J Fox disappeared behind it. So they went with the ES-358 purely for aesthetics. Bonus Fun Fact: The guitar you hear on the cassette tape Marty plays for sleeping George is Eddie Van Halen's ICONIC yellow/black striped "bumble bee". You may recognize its distinctive tone as its the famous Van Halen sound. This guitar is buried with Darrell "Dimebag" Abbott from Pantera. The guitar that sold millions of records AND saved the space/time continuum is buried with Dimebag! RESPECT

the song power of love was done by huey lewis and the news. when he performs it at the audition in the beginning the guy that tells him he is too loud is huey lewis. that ending is interesting as well. in '85 sequels weren't very common. they through that scene in to just show that they would have more adventures. they did not expect to get to do a second movie let alone a 3rd. it kind of painted them in a corner though. the writers admitted if they had known they would never have had jennifer get in the car. and in case you didn't know johnny b goode was a song by chuck berry the guy who basically created rock and roll. the guitarist who calls his cousin to show him the new sound he had been looking for is calling chuck berry

There was a small cut from the script that stated that Doc hired Marty to clean up his lab for him on a regular basis since he had become rather disheveled after losing his mansion to his failed experiments. If he does it cause meeting Marty in the past that kinda creates a causal loop and that why some people think he may have time traveld more tha what us shown on screen. He could have lost Marty multiple times, Rick and Morty style i.e. Death, and that's why knows certain things later in the trilogy. That's kinda dark so they just left things vague enough to let people suspend logic and go with the excitement.
