William Shaw Really? What changed their minds?
@rickCoffee4 жыл бұрын
@@VanillaLimeCoke Michael J. Fox was their first choice to play Marty, but when it looked like he wasn't going to be available, they briefly hired Eric Stoltz to play Marty instead. Unfortunately, Stoltz was significantly taller than Fox, so the actor they originally hired to play Biff (J. J. Cohen) didn't seem physically imposing enough to bully him, so Cohen was recast as Skinhead and they hired the much taller Thomas F. Wilson to play Biff instead. Then suddenly, Michael J. Fox became available, so he replaced Stoltz as Marty (after they had already recasted Biff). So had Michael J. Fox been casted as Marty from the start, they probably wouldn't have bothered recasting Biff since Cohen was sufficiently taller than Fox. LONG STORY SHORT: Biff's original actor wasn't tall enough compared to Marty's original actor, even though they BOTH ended up replaced.
@VanillaLimeCoke4 жыл бұрын
rickCoffee Wow only knew the half of that. I learned awhile ago that Stoltz was the original Marty. Just curious now who was the original Skinhead? I know in a earlier script one of Biff’s guys was called GUMS.
@rickCoffee4 жыл бұрын
@@VanillaLimeCoke No clue there. Not much talk on who originally played minor characters. But on a side note, Marty's girlfriend was also recasted because the original actress was too tall compared to Michael J. Fox. Seems like quite a few actors got replaced simply because of how short Michael J. Fox was.

Yeah at 0:46 Marty looks taller and the punch he delivered is straight to Biff's face so it is confirmed that the punch was by Eric Stoltz
@spacey13354 жыл бұрын
Yeah you can tell its eric because one minute before Marty takes the punch, Biff is looking down on him, but then right as Marty is doing the punch, the camera jumps to biff's face which shows him staring at Marty eye to eye. If you play this at the 0.25x speed you can see this.
