Fun fact about Bill Dance- He was actually accepted into/enrolled in medical school at the University of Tennessee. One night driving home from class he happened upon a horrible motorcycle accident on a lonesome highway. He was unable to save the dying man. He said in that moment he decided he'd rather just go fishing. So, he dropped out of med school and did just that.

Nice back yard....I chased tarpon from Jupiter , down through Miami, all of the keys and around the horn to Hommassa...in my thirties. Thankfully I got over My obsession. Hooking one is called jumping a tarpon.... And most importantly, when they jump you have to bow to the fish, that is slack the line some or they will spit the hoo, or fall on the leader and break you off. h

With a heavy boat penn setup... Would be fun to see, if you have time. Silver King indeed. Tarpon & bonefish are not the meat fisher/spearmans usual fare. That's drifting into that 'lofty' realm of those streamer & 9' rod flats folks. I am becoming a huge fan of spear fishing life & the reward for that effort. Fly fishing is the more published fare in the FS.OL & SA mags. Even all 3 of those aren't around anymore. TFS Keep Safe

You're so very very lucky sir Aaron, because you're sorrounded by the beautiful waterway canal through the mangroves forest. Here in my place mangroves were dying because of the careless boat passing through them, even if they're still young. So they doesnt grow taller than 5 feet. In fact they were all dying. Unlike the place where you are staying. Mangroves were growing old and useful.
