What do u think about doing side lateral leg raises with a bad lower back? I was doing towel decompression and some lower body workout like the fire hydrant and side lateral leg raises but now I'm thinking of doing only walking bc my back is so bad. (I was trying to strengthen my legs to help support back). But the back pain is so debilitating. Its gone from lower back to mid back and sometimes both. It's like burning or nerve pain all over my back. Its like having periods pains but in my back. Even feels like when you've been winded in the stomach if you've ever been hit in the stomach, but it's in my back. I have to lay down and just give in to the pain. I can't do much physical activity for fear of making it worse and can't find much relief in sitting or laying. Plus my shoulders are an issue which doesn't help. Feel like theyre stubbornly forward and really tight. Anything u suggest or what the pain could be? Also, when I sit, should I lean back or sit up straight? Sorry it's a long comment. I appreciate any advice.

Thank you so much. Been doing the gentle pulsing but wasn’t sure how hard to be pulling. In the beginning, I was pulling as I bent slightly to the left and to the right because I had tight muscles on the psoas area as well. Was using the kitchen countertop to pull with my arms and flat back to get the mid and upper back loosened up also. Hopefully that is a good one to do. Also as long as you don’t pull too hard, right? It’s so important you talk about knees ** because I’m sure many people like me have had knee problems. My knee has been clicking and I haven’t been able to stretch the front of my hip flexor when I’m laying on my stomach because it clicks (feels like it’s going to come apart actually)! when I try to pull my heel up to the butt. Now I have the other issue of nerve pain coming through my knees and down into the feet, so it messes with my head when I feel pain in this area. So thankful for your channel! Someone online was talking about the issue of pelvic tilt, and that perhaps stretching the glutes wasn’t as necessary as people think because it puts an o opposing force on the pelvis to pull it back the opposite direction to counteract. (If a person has that problem). Thoughts? Might be an idea for a video there …. Thank you again for this video. Your passion to help others is clear!

Just discovered your channel and love it. I hurt by back a few days ago by deciding to do a hang during my leg session to get rid of the niggles I was feeling. I thought decompressing was a good idea, but like your video suggested I was feeling an ache and couldn't release my back fully, however tired to make it release and when it did I then got the biggest spasm and now very tight - Do you know why the decompression aggravated my spine?

Thanks for the kind words, glad you found it helpful! As a general rule i would not be doing decompression work before and certainly not during a lifting session. if you're feeling niggles prior i suspect you'd been working through an issue that was in the background, then decompressing the spine whilst all the muscles are super tight from the gym session could have just been that extra bit of trouble, plus the fact that often the hang is followed by a drop back onto the weight - which means it's not so much the hang but the reintroduction of the weight that is the issue. That being said if you follow the recommendations on the channel you'll do well. if you need anymore help, check out the website :)
