Always killing it with the flathead and wipers! Another great video, man

Thanks, the flatties have been crazy this year. It's nice to see so many of them in the river system.

Love how the other people fishing support and encourage you! It’s fun to watch you all working together to help land a good one. 😅😊

White hot powerhouse spillway fishing, BA style! My favorite! We share a certain kind of crazy: "should i just swim out there and get it?" because someone may give you a rational reason to do so...

@@SluSharkND it good to have someone there to talk some common sense when you’re contemplating swimming in heavy current! Thank you!

Its pretty neat to be able to stand over fish. 😁 That rod seems pretty amazing. Most guys would be fishing with dragon lances for fish that size. Awesome fights. That 12.6 wiper was crazy.

This place is unique in that you can get right up to the waterfall and literally have fish right below you. I like the ugly stick elite rod. The ugly sticks in general really do get the job done. I will say they don't feel quite as nice in your hand as a higher end rod but I think that's to be expected from something under $50. The big wiper was a welcome surprise. The 10+ wipers have been dodging me so far this year! Thanks!

New rod tested properly. 25.6 What a monster. Gongrats! 🐋. So 🚩🚩 someone else take your spot? 😎.

Not a bad way to break a new rod with a bunch of big fish! Battle tested! This place can get pretty crowded so you have to learn to wiggle your way in there!! Thank you!

Nice hybrid man! I did the same as you this summer. No double digit wipers until September 8. The first fish was 11.3 then two nines an eight a seven. Then 4 smaller ones in the 4 -6 pound range. All of them on a 3 Oz white lead flutter spoon. I have to fish directly on top of the turbine outlets so the lure weight is needed for control. Also landing them is a bit difficult as I’m about 6 feet above the water I really enjoy the video and would love to get out there

Thanks, sounds like you had yourself quite a day! Congrats on finding a wiper dream bite! That's a heavy spoon your using. Must be some really heavy current.

Nice it’s fall now and I’m thinking about coming to this place soon for wiper fishing but idk the right time to and I’m thinking about using an Alabama Rig for the wipers but would you recommend it or not?
@colinwalter93812 ай бұрын
You’d be the only one I know of using it there. That specific spot he’s at is the only one that I’d think you’d be able to throw A rigs without losing them to snags. That river is pretty snaggy in general

I'd take river fishing over lake fishing any day. Just something about that moving water. The fish fight harder and are less affected by weather!
@BackroadsAngling3 ай бұрын
Agreed. The river changes day to day, hour to hour. You get a different bite every time you go! Thanks!

I’m planning a trip down to that area soon, I found this dam and recognized it from your videos. I was wondering where the best place to park is to get to this spot?

Are the wipers off and on a lot of days.? Does the fall weather help increase thier presence and activity. Also why dont you ever do videos at red rock dam.
@BackroadsAngling3 ай бұрын
It's pretty random when they show up in good numbers. I don't fish at Red Rock because I don't feel like making the drive when I have this spot just down the road.
