I’m a new Subscriber, my wife likes all the trees and surroundings in your backyard. I have been catching up on your house build from the start, and the pool build also. We are not too far from you, around 50 km to the south in Sariaya, Quezon. I’m retired and from the Chicago area. Hopefully by next year we will be able to start our second house build. I think that you should be doing to get the avocado fruits is that you make a sungkit by attaching a pocket, sort of in between two short and sturdy branch attached to the sungkit. I think so,body can explain that better than me.mother fruit will drop into the pocket without bruising it.

That wind is from "Habagat" or the southwest monsoon. There are two seasonal winds in the PH. Habagat and Amihan (northeast monsoon)

The mahogany wood chips look amazing...as you said what a great idea to repurpose something that's usually discarded. 👍 The color is so much more vibrant than the usual darker brown chips/mulch more commonly used.

Hi James, your yard always looking good. How is the Angels Trumpet doing? Ours are really doing good with all this rain we hav been getting, the Lobster Claws too. We did video of our "Hood" today. The Bamboo bridge is pretty bad, but they. are replacing it with a new bridge. It's going to be more sturdy than the old one. If you are ever in our area, please feel free to stop in. I am planning to do a video of the nearby National Park where there are wild monkeys. If you are interested, bring your drone.

The Angel Trumpet was doing great but something ate most of the leaves. It's still alive but needs transplanting away from the vegetable garden. Been so busy with woodwork I've been totally neglecting the veggie garden area. Let me know when you plan on going to the National Park. If we can we might fit it into our travel plans. @@MyPIDream Hi James, when we first planted the trumpets, they were being eaten by some insects, don't know which ones. I think they got so high that it ended up killing them. I haven't seen any getting eaten now. We had a brownout this afternoon. I will let y'all know when we have a date for going to the Park.

Man you need to put some Fertilizers, to some of your fruit bearing trees and plants to make them healthy and produce more fruits. They don't producing well, because of weird Weather changes and impact of climate changes.

Got the lime tree from Mahogany Market in Tagaytay. It's right behind city hall. They are grafted but I don't know the variety.

Greetings James, my wife and I have purchased land in the Batangas PI. We still our have our home in San Diego CA and like you and Ness plan on going back and forth from US to PI. Question - what was the longest period of time you've spent at Vilia Filez, away from your other home in South Carolina?

We try to visit the US every 1 to 2 years. Our primary residence is here in the Philippines and we are permanent residents. Congrats on your property purchase in Batangas. It's one of the best places to retire in the Philippines.

@@MyPIDream Thanks James, we've been experimenting with how long we've been away from our place in SD while back in the PI. I have our SD home ringed with cameras for remote viewing. Trying to get used to being away from our SD home for long periods. We'll begin construction of our place sometime in 2024; your old Villa Feliz construction videos have been really helpful!

We also have CCTV security camera set up around your US house to keep a warm fuzzy of what's going on around the place. Glad you've found value in the build series. Trying to keep up with newer building techniques here as I see them.

Here we yield fruits and vegetables 365 days a year. In the US, we have a very limited growing season plus most of the fruit trees will not grow at our US property do to the colder temperatures.
