Probably a clone or something, to line up w the kamino experiments. Personally I would kinda dislike that but we’ll see how they handle it. Or maybe the dark disciple story remains relatively the same but is just moved up in the timeline to shortly after bad batch? Who knows
@VanSisean9 ай бұрын
I do wonder what motive Palpatine would have for wanting to clone Ventress (of all possible force users), since he did not think very highly of her even when she was Dooku's acolyte despite growing apprehensive about her increasing power (though maybe Dr. Hemlock and/or someone else associated with Mt. Tantiss is doing it on their own initiative if she is a clone). Even moreso, I wonder how the writers could conceivably move the "Dark Disciple" storyline to the early Imperial era, since it originally revolved around the Jedi Council's assassination plots against Dooku involving the Ventress-Vos partnership, and Dooku and most of the Jedi Council members (except Yoda and Obi-Wan) are already unambiguously deceased by most indications.
@DarthTingleBinks9 ай бұрын
I think both of you are forgetting that the Nightsisters aren't strangers to resurrection. And Merrin is still on Dathomir at this point. Not to mention Morgan Elsbeth (not exactly sure how you spell her last name) might be alive and young here, as well. Both could easily have revived her. So what I want to know isn't necessarily how, but why. Who would have a reason to bring her back?
@VanSisean9 ай бұрын
@@DarthTingleBinks I agree that it is more likely (and, in my opinion, preferable) that Ventress is brought back via Nightsister magick, rather than through cloning or simply moving some variation of the "Dark Disciple" storyline to the timeframe of "The Bad Batch." I would also likely be content with a flashback (or several thereof) to "Dark Disciple" in the TCW era, but the official entry for Ventress on the "Star Wars" website now explicitly states the following: "Ultimately, Ventress sacrificed herself to save Quinlan’s life, taking the brunt of Dooku’s Force lightning during their final confrontation. But that wasn’t the end of Asajj’s story…"
@nikulus28409 ай бұрын
@@hdudhehdhd2222 They can't move it to after Bad Batch, because the whole plot takes places during TCW, and they are trying to assassinate Dooku. If they move it to after Bad Batch, there is no Dooku to assassinate.

Grand Admiral Thrawn in Ahsoka said "I thought it was beyond you to underestimate a Jedi. After all, death and resurrection are common deceptions played out by both Nightsister and Jedi." did she die yes is she resurrected? Yes, she was placed into a green pool by Obi-Wan and Quinlan Vos I believe. That alone, you know it was going to happen. She deserves a better story if it was going to end for her... I for one hope they have more adventures of her. Maybe her meeting back up with Quinlan Vos and going on adventures together .. would be an interesting show if they had another series with those two

Echo had a shot in the trailer, too. So he's very likely to be back. You are right that he had a lot of overlap with Tech, so him leaving made sense. It gave some character evolution as he left the group and joined the fight against the Empire. Tech dying would open a spot for him, and give him an opportunity to continue that growth by helping rescue Omeega, as the Batch is like immediate family.

When you bring up Tech's death and that he shouldn't come back...now if only the full, planned 8 episode Dark Disciple arc had actually made it onscreen into TCW, with that epic conclusion to her entire arc and the pivotal and utterly heart-wrenching sacrifice she made in saving an equally badass force-wielder known as Qui-Gon, would everyone have still been nearly as open and welcoming to her returning in any way, shape or form as most are right now? Yeah...I'm with Holden on this one. It's essential to have consistency ALL across the board. It emanates base-level creative competency and a sign of actual, quality storytelling while rightfully giving genuine appreciation and respect for the franchise we all know and love so much. They used to be soo much better at it before George Lucas sold it all off to Darth Disney....

so on ventress status id dead/alive. warning this is "maybe" spoilers. i said maybe because this maybe retconned by filoni but we dont know yet so heads up. 3 2 1 when clone warswas initially cancelled they had to wrap up certain arcs in books. one of them is dark discibple which focus on ventress after s5 cancellation. she fell in love with the jedi quinlan vos which you saw in clone wars during the hunt for ziro (jabbas nephew if you remember) arc. stuff happen with eventually she died, quinlan title of jedi was stripped but because of that he was safe from order 66. in kenobi show in the hidden tunnel when kenobi was looking at names on the wall he saw quinlan name on it so he is still alive. overall this is a huge surprise so we gotta see whats been updated and planned by filoni for her in the show.

to add: this is not the first stuff was retcon by filoni. in bad batch s1 episode 1 the padawan and his master that the group met the young one is caleb dume aka kanan jarrus in rebels. in the kanan comic he and his master was on a vastle different planet and how she died and him escape was different. in tales of the jedi the last episode with ahsoka years after clone wars they changed that from the book they did for her.

It always surprises me that people don't understand how Star Wars canon work. George Lucas never considered anything outside the main media (e.g. films and tv) canon. now obviously that has changed since Disney bought it. But Filoni/Favreau work as it's all canon until the main media states otherwise. So books and comics etc are canon until a film or tv show contradicts it.

Lol it was funny how Jen was NOT about to listen to Holden go on about true death and retcons in the Star Wars canon
@im_nic9 ай бұрын
Retcons don't matter to me as long as the ends justify the means. What I mean by that is , feel free to "resurrect" characters just as long as you have a good story to tell. Darth Maul is an example of someone who benefitted greatly from being brought back, and even to an extent Ahsoka (post duel with Vader). However, Boba Fett and Palpatine's resurrections are examples of returns that were not justified in the stories that were told, and were just flat out bad. I know the cannon books have their fans, but this is a company first and foremost that cares more about views than canon. Ventress will for sure get people to watch the show, and I just hope that the Bad Batch have a good story to tell with her.

Yeah, Ventress supposedly died in a book called dark disciple. (The book takes place between season 6 and 7 of The Clone Wars-show.) The producers of the bad batch-show said, that apparently the events of dark disciple will still be canon with the bad batch-season 3. (Wonder how that works, since in the book Ventress corpse had a funeral.) The design of Ventress is also the same as in the book. But yeah, if Ventress lives now … There is a chance to see her in live action.
