I have a Churchill side by side 10 gauge. We apparently speak the same language. The language of the big ten. I appreciate your work.

I cant believe you walked up on those birds and got that close. Here in the Willamette valley if you get with in 200 yards of them they take off.
@AmericanArmsChannel4 жыл бұрын
I’ve done it a few times. Their depth perception is not that great, so if they are not skittish and you walk in a manner that quarter your path into them like I did in the video, you can get within range. The 10ga helps though lol. I grew up jump shooting birds a lot in Upstate NY. You learn a few tricks here and there along the way.

Drake I absolutely love that double 10, where did you find it and how much do they go for price wise? Been wanting one for years lol
@AmericanArmsChannel4 жыл бұрын
Gunbroker. It was not bad, about $700 before shipping and transfer fee. In the spring there seems to be a considerable dump of 10ga guns on the market. With all the craziness of last year and this year, I don’t know that the values will stay where they were or that the same availability will be found. I’d just keep an eye on online auctions and haunt your local pawn and gun shops. You never know what will turn up.

What was the ammunition used for these geese? I just bought an Aya 10 Gauge, full choke in both barrels. I need some reassurance that BBB isn't going to damage the chokes xD
@AmericanArmsChannel3 жыл бұрын
Ammunition being used in this video was BOSS Shotshells 2-1/16oz - 1,300 FPS -#2 Copper Plated Bismuth. Measure the exit diameter of your chokes to see what hard shot (steel) sizes are suitable for it. If tighter than .725”, I would shoot no larger than #BB steel through them.
@mrsmith90793 жыл бұрын
@@AmericanArmsChannel Thank you. Why exactly that diameter, and why BB sized shot? Is it simply empirical observation or an underlying theory behind it?
@AmericanArmsChannel3 жыл бұрын
@@mrsmith9079 both. Larger pellets than BB in that tight of constriction with the older barrels runs the risk of gouging or blowing out the choke, even in the 10 bore. Modern 10ga guns don’t run that risk because of materials and choke design. Basically you are trying to avoid bridging the pellets and punching through the wad wall to contact the bore. T, TT, and F are too large for that choke and may cause damage. Again, BBB will probably be ok but BB is for sure safe in my testing. You can probably get away with BBB, but I would not make a habit of it. If you need harder hits at extended range with the older 10’s loading or buying #2 or #1 Bismuth loads is the best option with the highest Value.

Who made yours and when?

It doesn’t have a manufacturers mark, but it is most likely a Zabala or AYA gun. Most likely a late 50’s or early 60’s manufacture date. This one has very few markings.

You have 2 barrels dude why you didn't pull the back trigger your left barrel you should hunt with a single shot?
@AmericanArmsChannel3 жыл бұрын
I very much explain why I didn’t take a second shot at the 5:40 mark in the video. I suggest you re-watch the video. Sometimes it’s about the quality and confidence of killing cleanly, not just putting pellets in the air, dude.
