Ok...I'm not a good cook and I don't even know how to cook meat yet, but I DO know that trying to avoid food poisoning by putting meat on super high heat is stupid. You'll end up not just with a burnt outside but a barely cooked inside because you tried to cook it too fast instead of letting it cook properly and monitoring the progress.
@necroflowers22442 жыл бұрын
Depends on the cut of meat. Red meats that are cut thin due well to cook on high heat with a few minutes on each side. Chicken and thicker cuts of meat need to be covered, and simmered at medium heat for moisture and even cooking. Ground meat needs to be thoroughly cooked because the grinding process makes it more susceptible to bacteria. Those really are basics of meats and poultry.

Seafood and cheese is rather tricky to get right... one of the better ways to pull it off is if you were making a seafood bisque and using a cheese like a good gruyere or brie amd camembert. You don't put cheese on top of a fish steak as you're cooking it!

Mother was a timid cook. Anything other than what she was used to was not gonna happen. No frying, Minimal seasoning. She could not even guess as to how to do the sauce part of a Hamburger Helper type thing. I was adventurous but I did not have the knowledge. Until I was ill for a long time and watched QVC and HSN. Watching the talented chefs cook a sirloin strip 10 different ways how can you not learn something? Selling pans they'd have 15 different dishes going. I learned how to use cookware to it's full capabilities, too. Methods, recipes, tips. Selling knives and I learn how to use them. My knife skills are getting pretty good! I found out I have good kitchen instincts, too, and that seems to be what a lot of these worst cooks are lacking. Cooking feeds my need to be creative and I do it with love. My great niece is very fond of my cooking. She's had fried rice in 5-star restaurants. She prefers mine. She was scared of onion until I introduced her to sweet onion. Now she even wants onion on her burgers. Now if I could get her to understand the action of folding, instead of stirring stuff. If she mixes up a fruit salad it's half-masticated before it's served! Patience, girl! Those berries are delicate!
