This review was originally posted in June 2011, and is the third and last crossover filmed during Suburban Knights. This re-cut version, uploaded in time for Arnie's 70th birthday, is 1m 42s shorter than the original, which largely comes from shortening film clips. Enjoy!

Oh man, I remember watching this on network TV as a kid and being mad as all get out because "That's not what Hercules is like in the stories!" I wouldn't be that angry about a portrayal of Hercules again until Disney's crappy version.
@dvass72537 жыл бұрын
At least that version is fun, had some of the best animation Disney has ever put out, great action scenes, a fantastic female lead in Meg (who, as far as I'm concerned, is the real hero of the story) and James Woods absolutely killing it as Hades. It takes about a million liberties with the source material, but it's far from being the worst Hercules movie out there. That dishonor belongs to The Legend of Hercules, starring Kellan Lutz.
@JamiJR7 жыл бұрын
I didn't find the Disney version fun. I found it such an incomprehensible mess - and Hades IS NOT EVIL! Also Hades CHOSE to be the god of the underworld, so why would he be all bitter and angry? It's what he wanted! Hera was NOT Hercules' mother! Hercules goes insane and kills Megara and their children! Only thing that makes me angrier is Hunchback. Phoebus is a BAD guy too! He just wants to bang Esmeralda and marries another woman for her money. And Esmeralda and Quasimodo both DIE!
@bored_person7 жыл бұрын
+Jami JoAnne Russell Adaptations don't have to be exactly like their source material. Making changes is not a bad thing as long as they work in the context of the adaptation.
@grayscribe21257 жыл бұрын
Considering that Atlas is usually busy holding up earth and Hercules took over for him for a short time, show me any adaption that portrays Hercules right. He also wasn't a demigod. He was as mortal as everyone else. The lion skin he 'aquired' from the Nemedean Lion could only be cut by the lion's claws, made him nearly invincible. Hercules only became a god after his death and that's just for staters what they always get wrong. And no, adaptions that change stuff is not always a bad thing. However, in Hercules case, it's been done so often, that few people even know the original anymore.

@grayscribe21257 жыл бұрын
So? Animal abuse was in the original stories as well. For example, Hercules beat or strangled the Nemedean Lion to death because nothing could cut the lion's skin except his own claws. Hercules skinned the lion and wore the fur coat as armor. He was unbelievably strong, not invulnearable.
