Bad One Piece Opinions: SANJI IS A LUNARIAN!

Puff, I generally agree with your takes but you're way off on this. Sanji being a Lunarian or having Lunarian DNA does not make sense both from a character and an in Universe Lore perspective for these reasons... - 1. Sanji used Diable Jambe long before his Germa Powers Awakened. - 2. Judge still considered Sanji a failure despite seeing him use Fire Powers. The Scientists in Sanji's Backstory even say he's just a normal Human, and he was until he put on the Raidsuit for the first time. - 3. Sanji's Diable Jambe is clearly fueled by emotions (Made clear by his Dialog, Hell's Memories and the SBS). And Judge intended Sanji not to have any emotions. - 4. Judge clearly intended for Sanji to become Stealth Black to fit his Raiid Suit and the old Germa Comic Strip. Lunarians as far as we can tell cannot turn invisible. Nor use Lightning or poison or any of the other abilities used by the Germa Siblings. - 5. Lunarian Fire has certain rules that do not apply to Sanji. ie the Speed mode and Fire Mode (Lunarians can only move fast when fire is off and only have enhanced durability when it is on). Sanji can be both fast and on fire at the same time. He also was not given godly lunarian durability upon unlocking Diable Jambe. - 6. The Germa siblings have enhanced durability but it clearly works differently than King's. Most notably the Germa Kids have to bend and snap back into place after attacks while King does not. Also the sibling have durability 24/7 while King's Drops alongside his fire. King and the Seraphim's Durability is also clearly far more impressive as well. - 7. If Sanji has Lunarian DNA why doesn't he have silver hair, black wings or dark skin like the Seraphim? Who we know have Lunarian DNA. - 8. There are no shortage of Human characters that can use fire powers with little to no explanation. Zoro, Luffy, Kinemon, Ideo, AND PEARL FROM EAST BLUE just to name a few. Its incredibly unlikely that all of them have Lunarian DNA. - 9."But we need a better explanation! Diable Jambe being fueled by emotions is too goofy for me. We need science and concrete Lore!". Look out boys! The Fun Police is here! Sanji using Fire because of emotions is no less goofy than Zoro creating Tornados with swordsmanship or Jango having Hypnosis because he ate a weird Mushroom. - 10. Sanji's Diable Jambe which represents his fiery passion, Love and Anger being tied to his Germa abilities is pretty much character assassination. As it goes against his character arc in Whole Cake Island and Wano. Sanji crushes the raidsuit, decides he wont go any further with His family powers, and then gets a power up for Diable Jambe. think about that for a ,minute alongside point number 3 again. You might've already addressed this regarding the two page spread discourse but a bad opinion I see a lot is that certain panels would be "more impactful" or better if they took up more space on the page. Most recently saw someone saying Kizaru beaming Vegapunk should've been at least a half a page. Basically it's the mindset of bigger = better. The thing is some of the most iconic panels in the series were not spreads. For example, the nothing happened panel was less than half of a page. But based on fan discussion you would think it was a double spread.

Lost Futures makes some really good videos, he brings up a lot of interesting stuff talking about the anti-colonialism in Skypeia. Maybe Oda meant Noland as more of a "this is how it should have been" with explorers doing so just for the sake of it. Thats probably the most beneficial reading for Noland, but it's still kinda messy, he's the one element that doesn't click into a real world history analog cleanly.

My head cannon is that Judge heard about the Lunarians at some point & used the legends as a basis to build his idea of a supersoldier. It also wouldn't surprise me if there's just an animal in One Piece that lites itself on fire as a defense mechanism & Judge just put that creature's DNA into Sanji so he'd have powers like a Lunarian.

I don’t really like the idea of Sanji’s fire powers coming from Judge at all. I think that alone suffers from a lot of the same issues the lunarian theory does.

@@trashikiI disagree entirely. There is a lot in the story that points to the fire coming from Judge and being the very first aspect of his "Germa Body" to come out in him. This is pointed to by the fact that it has always been very odd for him to set his own leg on fire and not hurt himself doing so, people in the story have called him out with him always saying "its his passion burning" or something along those lines, but others have outright said thats not possible or that they simply dont agree. After learning of Sanjis backstory and how he refuses to accept anything his father gives him and wants to be strong his own way, I and many others have come to the conclusion that him calling his flames and abilities "the power of love" or whatever he likes to often say, is just him trying to take ownership of the power he was given by Judge. This is pointed to by the fact that he very clearly says that when excusing his use of his augmented body durability, meaning they likely come from the same source and he just makes them his own.

@@VarietyArc Who has outright said Sanji’s emotion explanation doesn’t make sense? Summoning fire in one piece is a pretty common ability after all. Meanwhile there’s a lot of problems with him getting it from Judge. If Judge meant get to give Sanji fire powers then Judge calling him a failure is a bit odd. If Sanji awakened that germa power on his own why did he need the suit to awaken his durability? Sanji is supposed to be stealth black his power should be invisibility not fire powers. The interpretation that seems a lot more obvious is during wci Judge created kids with the power of science that lack emotion and as such rejects Sanji a man whose power is literally emotion and lacks scientific enhancements. Then during Wano Sanji to try and support his captain tries his father’s way of thinking and rejects it before he loses himself. As a reward for facing the family he hates he gains their durability but keeps his heart which he uses to fuel an even stronger flame. Sanji cope lying to himself and Judge giving him secret fire powers as alt interpretations all seem to spawn from a refusal by fans to accept Sanji’s powers of emotion because they don’t like it.

Bushido or the samurai code is kind of dumb anyways. Bushido would get samurai killed in duels as people woulf use the things they are not allowed to do against them. Hes a ronin and better for it. Upholding social order is cringe. He was a man on deathrow when Luffy stumbled upon him. We see how corrupt the "social order" is as early as the people trying to execute him. Even though one piece textually does say "some monarchs are okay" subtextually its an anarchists screed written on the worlds longest piece of paper.

The 2 big theories have been BB or crocodile because Caribou looks like a cut baroque works member So, to me, it makes no sense if he is lying to get to BB to get to Crocodile So him just being a fan of BB with him starting his Pirate career after marineford. Backbeard comes out of nowhere, takes Ace out, and becomes a warlord kills WB and gets 2 fruits Of course, he would have people like luffy who went to sea because of his actions

I agree with you, it's possible he could be lying about being BB's biggest fan but it lines up for me because he has been looking for 'that person' for so long. also his immoral nature lines up with BB meaning he would have less reason to lie.

I've really hated the discourse around "Luffy is never going to be serious again nor have a serious moment thanks to Gear 5". Frankly, I was on the side of the isle that HATED the reveal of Nika. It felt like such a heel turn and ruined the underdog paramecia feeling. But? Bajrang gun, "Beat Loud, Heatbeat!", and Luffy grabbing Saturn/Kizaru? Those genuinely went hard. The idea that tension and comedy are somehow mutually exclusive and can never coincide is ridiculous. Can it be done poorly? Yes. Are we seeing less "Serious" Luffy? Also yes. But we are getting a mix of toonforce and serious and it's actually being done well, in my opinion. The "Nika" fruit has grown on me.

This is a comment more for Shiki about general series than about One Piece but I would like for you to say in the next video why do you say you like the manga of Rent A Girlfriend (Pretty sure you said that) when its pretty unaminously agreed that its not a good manga. Also do you agree with the take that some people have that Kaguya-sama's story got worse in the last few volumes of the manga? Please talk about it in the in the next video. Hey guys! Thanks for using my suggestions. If it's not too much i'd like to recommend some more for another vid. 1. Sanji vs Zoro Fans. The Rivalry between zoro and sanji in the story is great and funny, and they work off each other great. But for some reason the fans of Zoro and Sanji really fight like the two goobers themselves. This is kinda based off my Worstgen suggestion, being that yeah the forum isn't the worst, but it is a power scaling battleground, MAINLY for fans of Zoro and Sanji always making dumb memes, and stabs at each other which yeah can be funny sometimes, but sometimes I feel they go FAR off the rails. 2. Gecko Moria is bad. Moria always gets called among the worst villains in the series, but he was always a favorite of mine, mainly cause behind his creepy onion shaped exterior he has an interesting character buried underneath, that Oda has hinted on across the story like his relationship with Perona, but just because he wasn't that big a challenge for Luffy, and his design is a little goofy most people call him bad, and yeah he wasn't perfect, but like Shrek always says"Onions have Layers" :) and i feel Moria does have some Layers to him. 3. Oda hates the Sanji/Vice admirals. Just a small one I remember hearing alot, that Oda hates Sanji, and for some reason the Vice admirals, just because he didn't give them cool scenes. I just think it's dumb and people flapping there gums. Hope my suggestions are worthy of your judgments once again. P.S. I never saw the tiny straw hat on giant G5 Luffy until you guys mentioned it and now I can't stop giggling at it, SO CUTE!
