I take your mildly tired overreaction in the first clip and will regale you with a little story Many years ago after finishing a 13 hours nightshift I was travelling back home along the M4. Everything was normal with traffic flowing away from London. As I was in the middle lane overtaking some cars I look left to see if there is anything heading up the sliproad that would prevent me moving back to see a lorry coming straight at me into the side of the car off the sliproad…or at least that is what my tired mind saw. It was actually a lorry using the sliproad normally. The scare shock I gave myself also gave me enough adrenaline to make it a few minutes up the motorway to Heston services where I grabbed myself 90 minutes sleep and a coffee when I awoke I also made sure I had a nap before driving home after a nightshift. I completely understand the reaction you gave and is a reminder to all to make sure you are fully alert when driving. My example and this clip ended fine, however it can end a lot worse 👍

Just for once, Tony, I have to disagree with you about the red car at 12:45. With the inside lane closed, it was a merge in turn, so they were expecting you to yield to them so they could do so. Yes, they should have signalled, but to my chagrin there are plenty of instructors etc telling people not to signal in certain circumstances, when in my view you should signal every such manoevre - you can't be sure there isn't a road user you have not seen who needs to know your intentions. Once you get people thinking they don't have to signal some of the time, they end up like the Audi drivers, never signalling at all.

@@MrFrog_ Yes, and as I said, they should have signalled. But at any merge in turn, two lanes are merging into one, so somebody will be changing lanes. Incidentally, if all the cars in the video were doing what they should, then they would have filled both lanes, leaving no gap for cars from further back (such as the red one) to gain an advantage.

Local authorities no longer have their own road works department (i.e. the actual work is subcontracted to private companies). There's also a monopoly of road maintenance contractors so contractors have LAs over a barrel and they know it.

The water gushing out could have been drainage rather than water supply. If it was water supply, it could be reactive and an easy fix. If drainage, it could be more complicated. Fines from memory are levied for works over running so whoever is doing this could get a battering. You would be surprised on some "real bikers" dress. I've seen a youngster with allegedly a full license dressed poorly for bike riding (like loose ripped jeans and trainers) and a bloke around 50 (all local to me) who was a learner and he had the full leather gear with decent boots on. Also if I remember correctly, if that's a 50cc scooter you don't need to have L plates on it if you have a full license for a car but that might explain the poor riding. If I ever get on a bike on the road (only ever done it off road) then I'll be wearing the full kit as I would rather spend a few hundred on replacing it than have to worry about replacing skin.

IMO bikes should ride on the pavement below 10kph. On the road they should wear a yellow sash showing a reg no.

14:00 Considering only front cam, no. Considering back cam, yes. So both combined, yes. That was dangerous and somewhat unneccessary. The first one in front of you or the lorry, OK. The red one infront of you hmmm not really as speed difference was high and you started moving already, but the space left wasnt really much to do that overtaking. Eeehh, good luck nothing happened there.

strange little car? Big ears , Noddy, it belongs in toyland.

14:00 You might not like it, that's a fair zipper merge. 'In turn' means exactly that. At the choke point it's one from lane 1 and then one from lane 2, with BOTH drivers responsible to make it safe.

I get all of that I just think it was too close to me and too close to the obstruction not to mention me having to break, just too aggressive for me.

@@thelondondashcamThen perhaps don’t keep the gap so small to vehicles in front when approaching a merge point 👍
@mwolfer12 ай бұрын
@@thelondondashcam I get that, and certainly it would have been better for the red car to slot in behind you, but it was at the choke point first. BTW where I now live most drivers believe that zipper merge is a communist invention and devil's work, and start lining up on the through lane 15 miles before the choke point, while the semis are trying their best short of ramming you to block anybody trying to 'overtake' them 'illegally'. Stay safe and keep the clips coming - they're both highly entertaining and educational. 😄

If the red car was already there when the lights changed, they could have worked it out. But since they were just arriving as everyone started moving, there was no time to react. They should have merged behind, imo.
