I live on a main road. I wait until it's clear to go my car door. But sometimes because of the speeds you can end up waiting like the lady was. The pronlem is a lot of cars will not move over even when the opposite lane is clear. And I'm not an idiot

As a former HGV driver, the answer is YES, it is perfectly legal for that lorry to be in the outside lane at that point. I have done so on many occasions.

In this instance, the HGV is NOT committing any offence at all. What you have at this point are two x two lane motorways, so the lorries are allowed to be in the outside lanes.

Yes, the HGV can use the outside lane there as the lane markings are short line, long gaps to divide the lanes, and long lines with short gaps to separate the lanes from the slip road, thus making it a two lane section and thus he can use it.

1:15, it is a two-lane motorway, right there. Thus when the lorrie is allowed to overtake, he is allowed to drive there ( on the right hand lane). And...it is a two-lane way thus probably allowed there anyway. We Dutch use white painted blocks markings to mark an wxit lane or a split in the motorway. That is better visible, because very white and not long but square.

When the road markings change from long lines to short lines to the left that is the indication that the lane on the left is the slip road of and thus part of another different motorway (if I'm not very much mistaken, when that slip road joins the main part of the M25, there are no 'give way signs or lines on the roadway so it's a 'Motorways merge. Consequently that slip road is technically already part of the M25 I guess !!) in this case the M25 and the M 26 automatically becomes a 2 lane Mway at that point..in my opinion, for what it's worth !

Like you I also ride motorbikes, but I also did drive lorries, I was taught to drive defensively, by that I mean, I rode about 3 Foot inside the divider line between lanes, making myself visible to ALL other road users, so many people are blind towards our two wheel brothers and sisters on the road, Now the Lorry Question, it is all about the lane markings, although there are in fact 4 lanes, the fact that the motorway splits into to 2, dual lane motorways means that lorries on either motorway may use the right-hand lane, until such times as a 3rd lane comes into to play, possibly after the slip road onto either motorways ( I think you treat that kind of junction like two individual slip roads on to 2 different motorways)

No. No matter what the road signs say slip road entries are still part of the main motorway, so technically the lorry was illegally using the outside lane. The 'outside' lane is still legally the overtaking lane for cars and smaller vans.

Lorries (and every other vehicle) on a motorway which splits, or is splitting soon, can only use TWO lanes, for whichever direction they are taking, so lorries CAN use the SECOND lane, in whichever direction they choose to follow.

I'm starting to think that at least some people when driving lose any sense of thought whatsoever. Just yesterday I witnessed someone wanting to do a U-turn at a junction, of course the most logical way to do so would have been to turn late to give maximum space to swing their car around, which would in this instance likely have given them plenty of space to do so, so of course they instead cut the corner while there was a car heading towards the junction on the road they turned into, and did a 3 point turn less than 10 yards away from the junction.

Difficult one with the lorries in the first clip. Technically it is still a four lane motorway of the M25 despite the right two lanes being marked as M26. They motorway hasn’t yet split and theat only occurs when the chevrons appear at 1:53 which is when you get two distinct motorways. However, it wouls be a really narked off officer to charge a driver for that offence there. Speeding maybe, but not incorrect lane use

@@thelondondashcam As I say, it would take a really narked officer to charge a driver for the offence and for me personally I have no issue as long as it is done close to the split and not a couple of miles away for instance You have had the reverse situation in your channel as well, I believe it is the M3 with the M25 junction, where there is a single lane that heads into the motorway merge which leaves lorries out in the outside lane. Sometimes they need tk be there a little longer than they should to make sure it is safe to move over, especially with those very important twonk wombles that just have to get passed and not allow them to move over Another good video with a few bad drivers. Similar incident happened to me today in a car park as what happened to you in the hospital car park. Had someone cone round the corner on my side of the road and I got the stare of death as they had to reverse and adjust as if it was my fault 🤷🏻‍♂️ oh well, all we can do is keep smiling and shake our heads at them 😁

At 12:16 with front camera, and 12:48 with rear camera, you are slowing down but I can't hear any indicator going telling anyone behind that you are going to overtake the car facing you. You can normally hear your indicator going so perhaps the motor-cyclist thought that you were pulling to a stop.

If you stand at the Bus Stop at the Purley Clip then all day you will hear hooting and tooting, due to the poor lane discipline you highlighted. It is the same going the other way with vehicles wanting to bear to the right to Coulsdon and cars in wrong lane wanting the A22 towards Caterham. The Tesco slip does not help. Could do with a re-design.

A cycle needs 1.5m to the right of it, 1.5m to the left, and is allowed a wobble, (say) 0.5m. So any cycle lane narrower than 3.5m is dangerous and should be removed. QED.

Because cyclists nowadays can't ride without wobbling all over the f*ing road. When I took my cycling proficiency test, we had to ride between lines about 10 inches apart without going over them. Aside from the speed and lack of awareness of the pedestrian, the moped rider had already passed you _before_ you got to the zig zag lines so no contravention had occurred. Stupid and idiotic riding, not going to disagree there but the no overtaking rule only applied within the zig zag 👍

Yes, and the pedestrian was also stood behind the Belisha beacon AND the street lamp so did not make themselves very visible. But you don't overtake even near a zebra crossing, shouldn't break the speed limit around a zebra crossing and especially when it is raining.

I don't know where to start with this one but I will try. 1) As a London private hire driver I have to renew my license every 3 years and every time I do there is something else I have to do to get it which always costs me money. 2) As a born and bred Londoner going back nine generations in London alone London is unrecognisable now under Khan all of my family have moved out of London, thats got to say something that we have been Londoners for 9 generations and the next generation will not be Londoners that's sad. 3) obviously you've got the crime you've got the road changes the road closures the cost of driving in London since I've been a private hire driver I've changed my car three times because of rule changes made by his TFL. 4) as a Londoner whenever I go into London I can't help getting a little bit depressed because it is unrecognizable from the London I grew up in. It's not because he's Labour it's because he's bloody useless, he's also a lying little weasel, you know when you see the pictures of him in the paper when he's walking his dog or riding a bike promoting what a great job he has done for the pollution of London what it doesn't show you is the Range Rover just behind him with his security in it. And as for Boris he wasn't much better with the ridiculous idea of Boris bikes if you go into London at night you will know what I mean with all the pissheads riding them, but he was better than Khan and that's not saying much my goldfish would be better than Khan, Red Ken was better than both of them put together at least he came up with one good idea the Oyster card, the other two haven't come up with one good idea to help Londoners ever.

@@thelondondashcam And he put a block on Stop and Search....because a disproportionate number of black and aisan men were being STOPPED AND SEARCHED....at that time, 72% of street crime was being committed by blacks and aisans.....and for the do gooder fannies amongst you, don't ask me for proof or evidence. You could start each vid by saying 'Audi dode everyone'. Now, on your different thing, 'Slow up?' 'Slow down?' how about 'Slow' ? eg 'I will print off a copy' means the same as 'I will print a copy'. Look out for all these superfluous words and stop using them.
