Hi, i mention su*cidal ideation at the beginning (go to 02:00 if you wish to skip) I am not taking any advice on finding God or Jesus and that is frankly unacceptable to go and proselytize to vulnerable people. Great that God made you feel like life was worth it, but i have found other ways. Please respect that.

If that makes you feel any better, a lot of us autistic people experience suicidal thoughts on a regular basis; it’s been a part of my life since I was a teenager, so you’re definitely not alone in this and I know how much it sucks. Also I’m sorry you’re struggling at work. We’ve been conditioned to think that ‘visible’ or physical pain is worse than ‘invisible’ or mental pain, but please don’t minimise your struggle by thinking what you’re going through is less serious than someone who has diabetes, for example. Like you said, it’s not a competition! Sending you positive energy ❤

@@paunesjourney thank you for the comment! Yes it has been a thing for me since my teens too. I have gotten much better with time and with coping strategies but sometimes my brain takes the quickest "easiest" route and i need to consciously steer it away. And yes i do need to remember to treat myself kindly like i would with any other kind of pain.

Apologies if you only wanted to vent without soliciting advice, but I have some ideas to consider. 1) Hire a maid service every other week to take your mind off of household chores. 2) Try a personal trainer at a gym to reconnect with your body. Sweat in a sauna 3) Analyze your diet and nutrition professionally and try making some changes. The wrong foods for your body can drastically affect your mood. 4) Make sure you get 30 minutes of quality sunlight contact on your skin daily. Sometimes it's useful to talk things through, but sometimes it's not possible and you have to work through things physically rather than socially or mentally. A lot of the resources regarding support for autism you mentioned sounds more or less unhelpful, and that's okay. I think it's important to trust your instincts on that. What you said about reconnecting with your community outside of your professional network sounds like you're on the right track.

I really appreciate your honesty in explaining your feelings and your thought process relating to this topic. This is very helpful to me and others dealing autism and trying to figure out what we should and shouldn’t do o what we can and cannot do. Thank you so much for making these videos.

A diagnosis isn't really accessible for me due to the required involvement of parents, so I assume that I will always be self diagnosed. I feel like I could benefit so much from slowing down too, slowing down a great deal. I hope the upcoming winter will allow for this.

U have entered the “this is my new reality” phase which is difficult. I remember it well with my ahd when the moment came i realized that I was limited without my meds. This is totally normal and it will pass in time; I promise. But it will require u to accept this new truth about yourself and accept it is part of u. I know easier said than done but I know u are strong. U look exhausted; not slept much I bet- mind racing. Been there

Sorry to hear your having a hard week at work on top of getting the diagnosis, not that a diagnosis is a bad thing obviously but it's a lot to take on board in a short time. I hope things calm down with work and that with enough rest and accomadations you start to find things more manageable. Also you should not feel bad about complaining, I know that's easier said than done though. I had a friend recently apologise to me for complaining about something that she then thought I had worse and I told her the same thing I'll say to you "Don't apologise for complaining because your complaining doesn't take anything away from my situation and never will, and if someone says it does then they are only thinking of themselves". Even though she felt like my situation was worse, I never once felt like that while she was telling me her problems. If anything I was concerned for her and it made me feel sad that she is going through that. Ultimately, if someone doesn't like you complaining they can always just not listen and leave. Well unless you have them tied to a chair and force them to listen, in which case you would probably have bigger problems than them not being happy about you complaining 🤏🤣

Being slow doesn't have to be bad. I really liked a KZbin Video "AUTISM - Why we need simple instructions..." by Pooky Knightsmith Mental Health, it's very poetic. Hope it helps. It's kind of about being slow. Oh, I work in IT-Support and I'm sometimes very fast about solving issues, but it has nothing to do with fast memory, I just can see, when something doesn't match. So I'm faster in that, but slower in processing new information. I'm really lucky to work for one company, because there is a limited variety of devices and software, it's easier to catalogue and recall information fast and see when some of the devices don't behave as intended. It's very interesting to see how depending on a neurotype pepole have certaind advantages or disadvantages.
