Agreed. They're not interested in drugs. They're looking to eliminate any and all communication to the outside as it would ruin their whole operation. GPS trackers, cell phones, etc. Drugs are whatever, like going through TSA at an airport. Drugs won't take down a plane, but a gun could.

I don't notice anybody else mentioning this but in season 1 there was no opportunity to collect the prize money after each game and spread it out over the remaining contestants. Their options were to vote to leave and take nothing or vote to stay and play Until the End

There's a very important point to why they're doing the vote every game as opposed to last time. The Front Man wanted to REALLY show Gi-hun that unless the world changes, as he said, the games will continue. Given EVERY opportunity, the players appear to still vote to continue due to greed.

The dad of the sick girl was not called by his number to be eliminated, a number was called, and while the girl was looking for that number to shoot, she saw through her scope the dad of the sick girl, she did not break any rules for him. That particular camera shot was for us the audience to see that the father of the sick girl did in fact join the games for the chance to save her from the cancer

Today I have learned that rapper dude "Choi Seung-hyun" have sentenced 10 months in prison with 2 years probation for smoking weed in 2017. He is cancelled, banned and censored heavily in South Korea and disappeared for the past 8 years. That guy is the only dude here in the series worth remembering with his act and character. And he did this job for FREE. Imagine that. It looks the South sucks as much as the North does. Dude have to escape Korea for good.

Interesting backstory on the guy who plays Thanos the rapper he is a real life K pop artist from a group called Big Bang and goes by the name TOP. Ever since the release of the show people mostly in Korea objected to the casting of his character because he was caught smoking weed. In Korea that is like a big deal of a crime and Looked more down upon than if someone Graped someone or committed some other crimes. Correct me if I'm wrong. They called out 244 to be eliminated. Soldier 11 pointed at 246, the dad of the little girl. I took it as though she was just looking at him, 246. Another soldier ended up killing 244 because you hear the gunshot in the background. So she didn't do anything wrong in that moment. She was just looking and I'm sure lots of thoughts were going through her mind.

33:49 i think for the first game for every year, from every kids game i have knowledge of, "Red Light Green Light" is the best choice to ensue panic and a guranteed 60-70+ kills, as it involves every player participating for themselves individually and playing all at once without any turns, as it requires you to stay still and be calm at the most horrifying sights. This wouldn't happen in games like dalgona which doesn't guarantee anyone to die just like RLGL, but panic caused during dalgona could be subdued as people are allowed to move, just not to break the sugar carving, meanwhile RLGL requires complete statue position, which isn't possible in any universe for 400+ people to maintain.

What he says is "ddaeng", which has no direct English translation because ddaeng has so many meanings, it's a very versatile word and thus proper translation relies on context. One of ddaeng's meanings is "you're out" or "you're wrong", which would also suit this situation, but in my opinion, the best applicable meaning here how ddaeng means "unfreeze" in Korean freeze tag. Part of what means a person is frozen is yelling "eol-eum", meaning freeze, or ice, and then when they are unfrozen, the one unfreezing them will yell "ddaeng", in this context meaning unfreeze. In this scene, Gi-Hun is yelling out "eol-eum", signaling that the players should be frozen, then Thanos tags the players, causing them to move, and calls out "ddaeng" in response.

I believe when Gi-Hun was last in the games, yes his friend called out about voting to leave after game 1 because he read the contract (and this time they are being much more open about it) but they did not have the “evenly divide the money” rule last game. The money would go to the families of those that died if I remember correctly. So in a way, this time they are being “kinder” by letting people leave with money early on rather than if they are the sole winner..BUT..as we see…it continues to cause issue and people are willing to trade life to get more money. Last time if they left, they “only” left with their life. I think it is a choice made by the Front Man knowing that Gi-Hun will be back..to prove his point to him that people won’t change so easily and, like episode 1, lots of people will take a very small chance at a big win than take the decent offer right in their face. Especially people in this room who are likely hard gamblers.

You guys are indeed missing something. Last season, one could see on the walls of the sleeping quarter that little by little as the bunk beds were removed images of the games we revealed. By the time it was down to 3 contestants, you can clearly see all the games were clearly in front of them all along from the very beginning. This season, you can see different images of different games, not like the ones we saw last season. Look at the walls. I know it's difficult because there are so many tall bunk beds blocking the view. But it is possible to see them.

Yeah, the boat captain is sooo sus to me as well. But not for the same reason: I find it strange how he supposedly found the cop but not close enough to an island to be able to pinpoint where he drifted from (because if the cop had been drifting for a very long time, injured, in cold weather, he would have died). I know he said something about a buoy (I think it was a buoy) but… still sus. Especially my theory is that his boat was maybe the one mentioned by the guards that were doing organ harvesting in season 1 because that boat would have been regularly coming very close to the island… That plus the fact that they never found the island in 2 years of searching, even with bad weather, even when they were not going everyday… Plus my cynical heart can't really believe he's doing all this searching for free, it didn't seem like he was even compensated for gas (or whatever powers the boat), so I could see the front-man secretly paying him to keep his brother, the cop, away from the real island, or the boat captain simply protecting himself by keeping the cop away if my theory is correct and he was indeed part of the harvesting scheme…

I liked starting with a familiar game -- and easily the most iconic one. It gives us such a different kind of tension, and it also gives Gi-hun this huge sense of false hope, which I think is the Front Man specifically messing with him (after their conversation in the car). It's a game he knows, he's told that they can all take their share of the winnings and go home after the first game. So his mission is to get as many people through the game as possible and then hopefully people vote the right way. I feel like the Front Man let him talk so much in the game to make him feel like he's making a difference and has a chance to save everyone.

In Season 1, the contestants were never told that if they left they could split the prize money. That’s why Gihun looks taken back and then stares at the camera. The only thing they were told in the first season was that if the majority wanted to leave, the games could stop. So this option is something that they provided to the contestants this year that they didn’t before.

The dad (the artist) didn't move, they weren't counting his hair as moving. They call the different number (244) and then you heard a shot when that person got killed. She just notices him as she's looking through the aim, but he's not called as eliminated. She didn't spare him, he's just there.

I think there can be multiple winners ONLY if the majority votes on leaving before the final game. They said the final winners would split the 45.6 billion wons. True, they said that BUT they are the one who decide when to stop the games, when to stop the fights… So they manage the number of participants. I fully believe they have always made sure there were very very few people left in the final games and that there could be only one winner in the final game or they made sure people would try to kill each other during or before the final game to get the full prize. From what I remember when the cop saw the list of winners by year in season 1, there was only 1 winner every time… and that can't be a coincidence.

The order wasto shoot 244, the guy who ended up getting shot in the leg, and then in the head once he had crossed the line. The father was 246, who was not eliminated/ordered to be shot. She was told 244 was eliminated, looked around, and recognized the father (246), while the other worker then shot 244 in the leg.

49:40 it just so happens that the last game was down to 2 people since heading to the finals there were 3. The rules state that after the six games played the survivors will split the money. ML was just unlucky or lucky depending on how you look at it for that Squid Game year.

I love that they kept the whole 'protagonist and antagonist in the game' dynamic. I think as far as the game's games go, it needs a healthy mix of nostalgia and new stuff, which I think would benefit the show a lot. I hope this time around that more than one person wins, as a change of pace, and I hope one of them is Thanos. lol

Correction: In the first game, voting to end the games sent the prize pool to the families of the dead. This time, they're not only actively encouraging a vote to happen after every game (something which was technically allowed in the first game, but not explicitly mentioned or encouraged), but they're also splitting the prize pool between the LIVING players instead. Also, the father's number was never called. When you're a hundred feet away from someone with just a gun, you're gonna need to use the scope to get a look at them lol

for after the reaction to all of season 2 so you get no spoilers, Netflix has a KZbin channel Netflix K-Content and they have many short videos with the cast from the show watching scenes and talking about being on the show. One thing I will treat you with today, the son and mother players, the actress who plays the mother is a younger woman who with make up they make look older. She could almost be the same age as the actor who plays the son.

Quite a few reactors I've seen were confused why 444 was shot again. He lost the game. Gi-Hun going back to save him was pointless. He was risking his life for nothing essentially. Just because he's not dead doesn't negate that he lost the game. So, him getting shot again should not have been a surprise to anyone. Yet so many reactors were questioning why.

I won't say much, but the season does a brilliant job of switching up how we as the viewer anticipate the show. It knows that we know, but it does a brilliant job of adapting where it places importance and anticipation compared to the first season.
