Here’s my take on this: Skill based matchmaking isn’t necessarily a bad thing, it’s just that 2K messed up BIG TIME with it. Black plates shouldn’t face against red plates yes, but red plates should not only play against red plates and 2 red plates with a black plate should not play against 2 gold and a brown plate. For example: me and my brother who play casually and just got to gold plate went in the theater and faced against cashout and Enzo while Enzo was on a black plate ( aka the top 2 reps in the world!! ) Sorry for the yappathon but do u guys agree?

You're constantly going to be playing against the " meta " at all times. Variety gets knocked off because if you don't use what's the absolute best in the game you'll be trailing behind. Now you can't play the game you want to, now you can't just casually play and chill, and also because of it something is going to get re-balanced causing you to resort to the best possible way to play. If people aren't good at the game then they aren't good at the game, they shouldn't penalize above average players and shift the way the game is played just because part of the player base is shit

20 was the last best 2K. I had an 82% win on there and went on a 36 steak with a random and multiple 16-22 streaks, and it was fun talking shit like there. Events stink now. They tried OT, but they only did that for like two days. Why not keep it in the game instead of Rise and Elite? Put OT, Rivet, and Sunset, but this game is going to end up dying down more and more. I mean, people complain of this game shooting, but the only one not is DoubleH; he shoots like 61% from three; it's like any 2K he plays; he plays well; he went on a 100-point streak; if I were him, I would have kept going until I lost that streak.

It's so simple. Make the ranked modes (proving grounds/pro am) give you more rep/xp/mypoints etc and leave those as SBMM. Then change park/theatre to just regular MM. Then the sweats are gonna go play ranked due to the increased benefits, and the casuals can play park care free. But also gives people the chance to go mess around in park with new builds or different playstyles etc and just chill. Having everything SBMM is gonna give people burn out and make them leave the game. Sometimes you wanna sweat and sometimes you wanna just mess around in park and chill.

The main problem with SBMM in pubs, just like cod, is that you cannot see yourself actually improving. While new or bad players may get slammed a bit, it creates a scenario where you can see yourself improve over time. SBMM keeps it so if you improve your competition does as well. This makes it so no matter what end of the skill bracket you are playing on, games will always feel the same and that sense of personal progression is lost. If anything you actually punished for improving at the game unless you reverse boost, which ends up becoming common place and ruining the integrity of the game.

Thanks you for letting me share this. I just want to say that I'm pretty good at the game. Yet, I chose to stay away from these events after I go in there a few times to see the opponent matchmaking (but also very important to point out) my teammates 2k matches me up with are ppl with low overall on their builds. I have no problem just backing out as I do in Proving Grounds or REC or what other game mode I chose to play. I've noticed 2k intentionally doesn't let you back out on These Weekend events. I'm sorry but no one likes being TOLD WHO THEY HAVE TO PLAY WITH with no option of backing out to attempt to try and get better teammates. I say in hopes ALL YOU CONTENT CREATORS CAN PUT A STOP TO THIS BY BRINGING IT UP TO 2K. If you believe me or not. That's one of the biggest reasons why I don't play these weekend events or events where you can't back out after 2k gives you some not very good teammates... thank you. Keel doing what your doing. Man usually I don’t comment on videos but this irks to me to see so many content creators who are the “elite” players of the game whining about fairness in a game. Now waiting 8 minutes for a game is unfair to y’all. I give you that. But once people hit gold and red at the end of the season that will change. But to say you don’t want to play your level of comp every game so you don’t have to play hard is the most selfish cop out I’ve ever heard. You’re being biased. What do you think the casuals will have to do if they’re forced to play gold and red plates all day. They will be forced to play hard every other game if not every game and that’s to say if they’re not already playing hard as it is against black and bronze plates. These are people with kids and jobs that requires them to get out of the gaming chair in the house that deserve a shot at winning games just as much as the next person. No one wants to give money and time to a game to lose every time. Content creators can make money off of ANY match. Win or lose, yall fans are still watching the videos. Still watching the stream. Yall will still get the highlights needed for the next KZbin video. Like stop and be fair for second. Yall out of pocket if yall know yall make up 10% of the population and think the game should cater to yall over the casual player who wants to enjoy FAIR matchmaking. EDIT: What power suggested is the only fair way that y’all should end up playing lower level matches. Park is public mode. There’s no matchmaking there. Go play there if you want to beat up on random players regardless of skill and level

You can’t take away the jump shot meter on events like Godz. The ratio of casual players who rely on looking at the meter still compared to people using zens are probably incomparable.

I’ve played everything in 2k25. REC is fine but I agree with the skill based matchmaking in theater it SHOULD only be in the proving grounds. I actually have more sweaty games in theater. It needs to be switched. I’ve faced a couple of cheaters in Basketball gods already.

The problem isn't the rank system. The problem is We all know when there's double rep in the Event Center pro am, rec etc... all the sweats will be in there reping up and dudes take full advantage to go to other places in the City to beat up on casual players or guy that don't take the game serious

Here’s my problem with SBMM. I play on PC and I’m a red rank. Finding games in the rec or proving grounds is literally impossible because there simply aren’t enough red ranks online. Ever. This morning I sat in a rec lobby by myself for almost 30 minutes. I made a rebirth and hopped in and got a game immediately. I think they should just have it for the proving grounds.

Now they get a game with true skill gap and they wanna reverse boost and complain that they're not being matched up against bums... This is why 2K has been free falling for the past 5 years or so... It's the community.

sadly we are once again seeing companies switch up to cater casual gameplay in a ridiculous way , it’s just like COD where you have a ranked mode yet if you are too good in the casual setting , the SBMM kicks in heavy . Idk what 2k is doing 🤦🏽‍♂️

The casuals make up the majority of the player base, other than the long waiting lobbies, SBMM is fine, play ppl that are on ur own level, out of everyone, KZbinrs and “comp” players should be complaining
