Go onboard air since you still street drive it. You can put a hose on the unit and fill the tires up before driving the car home after dropping pressures to race

I was thinking earlier today it had been a while since you did a video, & boom, a hour later it drops. I like these Q&A videos. Well, I don’t guess this is a true Q&A, but parts list, future plans, etc. type videos.
@BadLuckGarage2 жыл бұрын
Well I tried to do a Q&A live feed to answer questions about the car a couple months ago but of course the people always asking the questions didn’t show up….they just continued to ask questions. So I thought this was the most efficient way to answer them. Lol.

Good stuff. I do have a lot of questions on the surge tank, time to do some research.
@BadLuckGarage2 жыл бұрын
I did an entire video just explaining the surge tank. It was the single most expensive part of the fuel system but after having pump washout issues with our last turbo build I decided to just spend the money on a bulletproof fuel system this time.

Well it wasn’t my first car, but my first Camaro was an 82 Z28 pacecar I bought back in 1994! Previous owner had wrecked it and repainted it white but it still had the pacecar interior. Lol.

I’m wondering if the 6762s may cause back pressure issues with the small turbine and large compressor? Great video
@BadLuckGarage2 жыл бұрын
I’m sure they will at some point. According to Viren that point isn’t until around 1200whp. As of right now we haven’t even reached to limit of the 64/62s and they’ve only got .83AR T3 housings. I got these 67/62s with the larger 1.01AR dual Vband housings.

Is that basically the same regulator that went on the c-10, how is that $35 unit holding up nowadays, mine seems to be working great on my nova , im actually considering getting another for my ‘73 c10 now that im putting a vortech supercharger on her!!!
@BadLuckGarage2 жыл бұрын
No. This is a clone of aeromotive’s smaller dual purpose 13301 regulator. The one we used in the C10 was more like a clone of the larger Aeromotive 13101 efi regulator. And as far as I know the new owner is still running that regulator. I’ve actually got a few more of those around the garage as well. Lol.

So it was a factory v6 car? I’ve been wondering if there’s any real cons with starting with a v6 car
@BadLuckGarage2 жыл бұрын
Yep. And zero cons, only pros….starting with the price. 😉 V6 cars are also usually cheaper and less likely to have had the shit beat out of them. Swapping them takes the same parts and effort as a V8 car, and if you plan to drag race the softer springs are actually better for weight transfer. If you DONT plan to drag race and want to build a nice daily driver then you’re most likely going to be replacing all the worn out suspension anyway and possibly upgrading, so it really doesn’t matter if you started with a v6 RS or a v8 Z car.
@nalley68152 жыл бұрын
@@BadLuckGarage very good point. There’s a v6 car for 1700 bucks about 3 miles away from me. Guy says it runs great he just doesn’t wanna mess with it. Only bad about it is it has a little rust in the floor. Probably wouldn’t be too big of a deal to fix it. All the suspension would be replaced

I am still watching the video but I had to stop here where you are talking about the shifter. You love the mega shifter and prefer the ball handle.... I love the quick silver shifter and always ditch the ball handle for a T handle....lmao. but I have mostly always done that for the nitrous button on the handle. Now that I have a turbo setup I might keep the ball handle. 🤷♂️

I hope so. But I’m still interested in seeing just how far we can push these gen1 64/62s before we swap over to the gen2 67/62s. So I’m in no hurry to change them out. Especially since it’ll require more fabrication.
@nalley68152 жыл бұрын
@@BadLuckGarage oh yeah for sure I’d definitely max them babies out before I considered it. Those 64’s should have a BUNCH of boost left in them
@BadLuckGarage2 жыл бұрын
@@nalley6815 My thought process is, if this thing went a 5.84 with the boost oscillating up and down between 12-20psi during the entire pass, what would it run if I could get it to stay at 20? And are they gonna be tapped there or continue to make more power at say 25 or 26lbs? I sincerely believe if I could get a handle on the boost control and the front end, the current setup should do mid to low 5s. If I can get it to do that consistently then I’ll be happy and we can move onto the bigger turbos and better engine.
